Snowflake dispels the Ice Pony Guard "well done your proving to be quite the prize Rave... if only Ember were here to see you she could probably come up with a challenge for you since she mastered in fire" Snowflake gets an idea he takes out a pure black potion "I will give you a real challenge" Snowflake drinks the potion causing his Shadow to rise and have a three dimensions and the eye of his shadow glows a bright red, Snowflake's Shadow looks at Snowflake then at Rave "don't worry he won't kill you but if you don't think fast he can hurt you pretty badly" Snowflake's Shadow begins to cast frostbolts at Rave

"Allow me to assist you". "But--". "No time for buts". Rave turns into a shadow and the frost bolts pass through him. Rave flies around in his shadow form a little surprised, but he manages to show no surprise towards Snowflake. He dives into the ground, going after and emerging behind the eye. "Yessssss" Rave hissed.

"there is something off about Rave can you feel it too?" "yes I assumed it was just because of his dark magic but there is something he isn't telling us" Snowflake's Shadow not amused decides to step things up he charges towards Rave and then teleports behind him in attempts to freeze him

Rave flies into the ground again and this time, dark crystals start to sprout behind him, blocking the line of sight, unable to cast the spells on him. "Now go to the right, now turn left very quickly, yes yes, good good". Rave did as the voice told him to. Rave appears behind Shadow Snowflake. "Guess who is now being flanked?". Rave's horn glowed and dark crystals started surrounding the shadow form, trapping it inside. Creating a magical barrier. "Good, you did good". Rave felt exhausted. He noticed his mane was now black and his eyes won't stop glowing. He had also grown some fangs. This had all happened due to magical corruption that follows after using a lot of dark magic. "This is going to take some hours to get fixed".

"my shadow is not as strong as I'am, trust me if you were ever to fight me it would be the end of you very quickly" Snowflake notices his shadow he then casts an anti-magic spell to dispel the crystal and releases his shadow which collapses as soon as he is released Snowflake rushes over to see if he is alright "good he is still alive" Snowflake helps his shadow up then absorbs him back into his place "these Shadow potions are very effective but very costly if your Shadow dies you could be out cold for several days while it tries to regenerate itself" Snowflake walks back to Rave "that is all for now you proved to be a great fighter and you seem to of got the stealth thing under control you should relax for a bit and I will see if I can find you any contracts"

Rave lay down for a while, having a slight headache after having dealt with a lot of magical distress. "Do we live here now or what? I'm talking about me and the rest of the team. If so, where would my quarters be, I would very much like to hit the haystack" he said tiredly.

Gear looked at the doctor, "I wonder if any of these would give me a horn, or a general magic boost. With magic, I could fully unlock my power." Blue said looking at some of the potions, "You wouldn't have anything like that, would you Doc?" This would be a huge revelation, maybe even make his wishes come true.

"Alright, but I've already bought the supplies my self but aahh, I'll keep working as long as you guys keep paying but I got to buy more iron soon and stones to make fortification, and I'm planning on making the fake room, traps in the forest and, lets see (Alamo thinks) ahh yes, gonna build something only I can disable."

"you don't have to live here you can always travel back to your home but its not smart to live away from the base after you do a few contracts. I use to have a house back in Unicorn Range thought no one would be able to find me there... I was attacked while asleep I managed to defend my home but after that I took all my things and now I live here... we have beds but you will most likely be sharing a room with 3 other mercenaries"

"we have tried something similar and it didn't work.... race changing is beyond normal forms of magic and and alchemy, there are no recorded way to change your race and I think for the best it should stay like that. Being an Earth Pony hasn't stopped me from what I do"

"That is fine, but that means I won't be bringing over my stuff. My things are far too precious to me and I feel a little insecure if I don't have them somewhere only I and perhaps a few others might have access to. So I will have to keep most of my books and magical artifacts back home" he said sadly.

(Alamo walks into the room) "So what this I'm hearing about living complaints? Listen friend if you want a room I could make you one base on my results I would have some left over supplies and I don't like wasting them so what do you say, I build you room?" (Alamo says cheerfully)

"Well, if you can actually build me a room, lickity split, then I won't be rejecting that kind of offer" he laughed. "Sure, that would be really nice, thank you very much". Rave bowed before Alamo to show him proper respect. "Now, I got to find a bed, any bed really, to rest. I'm burned out" he said tiredly.

(Alamo bows back) "Alright I'll get started, but it won't be as warm as the other rooms until I can get it completely walled off, but the basic should be done by later tonight so you can rest in your own room, but if you want extra stuff in the room your gonna have to pay for some upgrades, I most likely won't be going into battle since I am a build but I will be training so I gives me time to build and make things, so come back later, she'll be done." (Alamo walks off)
