Help my oc not be a Mary Sue

Title says it all, can someone help me make my oc not as Mary Suish. Here is her character profile.

I would give you a warning to avoid not only the standard Mary Sue archetype, but be wary of the many variations as well.

An Anti-Sue can be just as bad and a Mary Sue. And watch out for the super angsty Emo Sue or Evil Sue versions.

What did they criticize exactly?

You've got to be careful. People through that term around like confetti on Mardi Gras.

Some people just use it as shorthand for "character I dislike", which is not what it means.

Well, then I'd have to give you a 4-5 on the backstory. it's better than the usual 'prince darkblood' character, and you thankfully didn't make her black, or an alicorn. But I don't believe in giving points for not being bottom of the barrel. I also tend to focus on character over pictures.

 

If I saw this description for a fanfic about your characters I wouldn't click on the link. It seems sophomoric, that you're trying to make up for a lack of originality by giving your OC a lot of quirks and traits. Maybe you have a great story behind her, a journey how she is what she is, but at a glance all I see is a goth OC that is in danger of being called a mary sue.

Yeah, I just recommend reading those links I gave you and doing a little self criticism.

It's your character. You've got to decided what to tweak.

the best way not to be Mary Sue is by...

 

-not being an Alicorn... there are some exceptions I have seen some Alicorn OC that aren't Mary Sue

-make sure your back story is solid....

-don't be related to the Princesses in anyway....

-don't go overboard with your creativity.... its nice to have a few creative traits and abilities but add too much and you become Mary Sue

-and the most important of them all.... don't make your OC perfect in anyway what so ever, you should give them some weaknesses as well as strengths....

 

so long as you follow these rules your OC isn't considered Mary Sue....
