I thought about that yesterday when I read the news about Bray. In a way, that's the "light" we can take from this. :rarity:

Well in a week filled with emotional lows, we can at least relish in the highs that make this sport worth it.

History has been made int he sport that Terry Funk, Bray Wyatt and Rich Landrum all loved.

I bet they're all proud right now.

What about WrestleMania 3's "93,173" or whatever? :dash:

That number is either:

A. Kayfabe

B. 15K of those were staff, crew and/or papered.

And no, WWE doesn't win the straight up most people in one place attendance either.

That goes to a certain joint WCW/NJPW show from 1995.

Then what does AEW have to celebrate?

Highest paid attendance.

Meaning the most people who ever bought tickets to a wrestling show.

Thank You, Bestie! I hope it was a fun wrestling show. :D

I also noticed that AEW's All-In and WWE's SummerSlam were both there at almost the same time! Wild "coincidence", huh? :orly:

I’ve been slowly catching up to wrestling stuff as I’ve been out of the loop, but I was sad to hear that both Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk passed away. Both were great performers.

As for AEW, I’ve been out of the loop for a long time and surprised to hear that they got a record for attendance. I knew the fans in the UK were starved for wrestling events, but wow. I can only imagine what would happen if Vince McMahon decided to have Wrestlemania over there.

A press conference featuring New Japan's hot young prospect, the man who Goldberged his way into a world title match on his first day back,  Yota "Mt." Tsuji.

Or does it?

Didn't know Tony Khanrana had the Chutzpah in him to do it.

The next 48 hours in Chicago are gonna be fun!

Oooh! I forgot about that! :wau: You couldn't have waited a little bit longer to let Punk go eh, Tony? :please:

And risk Punk using his hometown as leverage?

Nah uh. This sends a stronger message to everyone. We don't care if you're are biggest merch mover or if ticket sales in your home town were carried by your name. You dun bucked up, Phillip Jack.

AEW gave Punk everything on a silver platter. Money, championships, publicity, amnesty. But since that wasn't enough to suit either his ego or his temper, it was clear nothing would be.

Tony watched WCW. While some aspects were honored with AEW, an ego-maniac in his mid 40s getting everything his way or the high way just because he moved the needle was not one of them, brother.

I thought about that the second after I clicked "Submit Reply". :please:

Yeah, that wouldn't be good but would you rather the fans boo the entire show?

I definetly agree with that. Like Vince McMahon says "No one is bigger than WWE.". I may've said that wrong but you know what I mean.

It's Chicago. They'll boo just about anything.

I don't think he ever said that, but certainly implied it. Though now he uses that as an excuse to cut the legs off any act getting steam so that none of them are bigger than the -E.

But I get the point. Punk wanted to be a team leader, not a team player.

CM Punk has been terminated from AEW. :Sunny-huh:

 @Denim&Venöm @TheRockARooster @Unicorncob@Clawdeen@Patty Thundersnow

Finally, Tony Khan gained some courage and fired CM Punk.

If I was him, I would fire more since there are more involved in this.
