Any Pro-Wrestling Fans Around?

A. Angle is a home grown talent where Sting wasn't.

B. Being upset about the whole Sting debacle does no one any favors, lest yourself. Move on, or else you'll keep on giving Vince and Co. control of your life.

And yes I do think he'll return for a retirement run, if WWE's penchant for use of popular part timers keeps going. The dollar signs are just too big.

I waited so long to see him there and it was taken away because they made him suck.

Tell me, how was anything besides his debut?

Sting in WWE ended up being a waste of time and a spit in the face to him, me and other fans.

But some are like, well it happened in WWE it was better than TNA.

Gimme a break, Sting's TNA run owned his WWE burial.

I don't care what anyone says, Sting was buried beyond repair in two second rate matches against second rate opponents.

That'll piss off people but I'm still pissed off.

@,

Honestly,

I never saw Sting's matches in WWE but, I watched his debut on WWE's Youtube channel.

Were they really that bad?

Well, his debut match got turned into yet another "WWE pwns WCW"-fest, and then a career-ending injury forced him to lose his second one as well.

Vince McMahon seems like a petty person.

I mean, he WON the Monday Night Wars & it's been almost 20 years, you'd think he'd be over it by now.

As far as the injury goes, Sting was crazy to take a turnbuckle PowerBomb at his age.

Vince McMahon tries to kill or weaken anything he didn't make.

He tried to weaken The Road Warriors and what happened, they left.

They came back because Vince promised them the titles but lied.

He ended up making them job to DX (makes me sick), I hate DX.

I wish WCW were still around for competitions sake but, if WCW were still around I think they'd be where TNA is now.

WCW could probably beat WWE now.

If they were still around.

I just wish WWE had something to make them motivated to write more interesting storylines & characters because,

I haven't cared about any WWE wrestler's or storylines in a very long time.

Diss HHH all you want. He's deserved it, especially for not using his clout to bring about a different outcome for mania, or at least stage a rematch. But saying that Seth Rollins is second rate just shows how out of touch you are. He's a great competitor and it was an accident that he injured Sting.

Vince McMahon tries to kill or weaken anything he didn't make.

The New Age Outlaws are nothing compared to The Road Warriors.

Shawn Michaels and Triple H are crap next to Hawk and Animal.

WCW 4 Life.

Vince didn't Lie. They won the belts in '97.

And you say WCW 4 life, yet condone Vince & Co. for their pettiness? WCW's top brass were as petty as they come, considering those that ran the company were Hogan, Bischoff, Nash & Flair. Hogan made both Bret & Sting look weak, only allowed his 'buddy' Savage to have the belt for like a day and brought Warrior back just to even the score. Nash awarded himself the belt & the victory over Goldberg. Then conspired w/ Hogan over the finger poke of doom. Flair used nepotism to get his son a title run. And no one stopped them. Vince maybe an out of touch control freak, but at least he doesn't let egomaniacal talent run the show into the ground.

Could WCW beat modern WWE? Does it matter?  Modern WWE and late WCW were and are both awful. It's WWE's over produced, poorly written scripting, last minute booking changes, ass backwards logic, bloated format and reliance on aging part timers vs. WCW's toxic backstage climate, glass ceiling on younger, smaller talents, lack of creative filters, ass backwards logic, bloated format & reliance on aging part timers.

WWE are far from saints. But WCW are no angels either.

I wish WCW were still around for competitions sake but, if WCW were still around I think they'd be where TNA is now.

I don't even think they'd get that far. Billionaire Ted's money would keep them afloat, but they'd need to find another network soon after, as WCW died because AOL-Time Warner wanted to wash it's hands of wrestling. And considering that TNA has jumped networks to the obscure pop TV, WCW may have a hard time getting a new home, as the stigma's attached to it loosing vast amounts of money and fans would make it arguably less attractive than TNA.

I haven't cared about any WWE wrestler's or storylines in a very long time.

Neither have I. Haven't watched Raw in two months.  And I don't think they would be motivated even with competition. WWE fans have left in droves, but they still have a few million viewers that will pay for anything & everything WWE offers. Their future is secure.  And those that decry Vince's efforts, are only giving him the attention he wants.

I stopped caring about the male WWE Superstars around 2002 & only watched WWE to see Trish Stratus.

After Trish retired in 2006, I tried to watch WWE but, I just couldn't find anyone that I cared about &

even with the likes of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe in WWE I still can't bring myself to be invested in anything WWE related

besides the video games & those have been stale for years, IMO.

Not even an NXT fan?

And I guess 2006 was a bad time for me to become a fan.

As far as games, haven't played any since SDvR '11. And even I sold it after a week along w/ WWE '10, which I enjoyed less than '09. Have all the PS1-2/ 360 games from SD II: KYR to '09. Though I've only extensively played SDvR '05-'09.

Thought about getting WWE 16 or 17 on steam but went against it.

HHH was at least semi-redeemed, IMO, once I saw his A+ management of NXT.

Rollins, however, I completely agree with you about.

Nope, not even NXT.

The last WWE game I truly enjoyed was WWE 2K16 & the only reason I play WWE 2K17 at all is because,

I get to use AJ Styles.

Otherwise, I would have stuck to playing  WWE 2K16.

Listen, the only glass ceiling I wanna see broken is when talentless pieces of garbage like New Day are slammed through it by The Road Warriors, The Powers Of Pain or Demolition.

I could care less about Seth Rollins, he sucks in my opinion.

I love what I love.

I'm sick of these indy darlings.

Like it or not, wrestling will never get to the heights it did.

I'm tired of people wanting me to like the wrestlers in WWE today.

They don't appeal to me and a lot of others.

And now I leave with these words.

WHAT A RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And frankly, I want to see overrated geezers like the powers of pain and road warriors get their heads caved in by the likes of War Machine & the Killer Elite Squad.

Like it or not, I don't care. If you're so certain wrestling will never reach it's old glories, then by all means, stop watching or stop complaining.  I don't give a damn about ratings or profits or merchandise. To me, wrestling is in a golden age. NJPW, Lucha Underground, ROH, PWG, AAA, CMLL, NOAH, WCPW, NXT. I'm spoiled for choices. And I'm sick of all the crybaby golden age, new generation & attitude era fans trying to bring modern fans down because they aren't getting their way.

I'm tired of people wanting me to hate the wrestlers in WWE today.

The past does not appeal to me.  The fact that everything is judged by this idealized and frankly overrated standard frustrates me to no end. No, the attitude era will never happen again. And people desperately wanting it too, is preventing anything even close to being better from ever happening.

And now I leave with these words.

After looking back on it over the years,

I think the "Attitude Era" is an extremely overrated time in wrestling history & although it may have kept wrestling afloat,

I think it did more harm than good in regards to how the fans react to wrestling today.

Only because you keep on decrying how awful everything is. You hate it when we try to show you how good the present is? I hate it when you bash all the wrestlers we like. There is just so much negativity coming from you.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Feel free to like whomever you like. Your tastes will be respected. But the moment you start insinuating that others are int he wrong because of who they like, is when you cross a line.

You can like what you like without demoralizing others.

But they've never been dissed and bashed, nor has anyone wished to see them get 'slammed through a glass ceiling.' No one here has said LOD suck compared to the Dudleys. No one has said the powers of pain are total hacks compared to Harlem Heat. I'm not the best person to talk the classics with. But I've seen it. There are plenty of people on here who are.

Maybe a bit of reservation in your comments on what insults you sling towards present stars would open the door for more discussion on your favorites. Heck, constructive criticism is welcome. You don't like Seth Rollins? Than discuss what can be done to fix that. Talk about what the flaws in modern talent are. Then we can find common ground. We can complain and deride all we want. But how about we discuss and find answers instead. After all, this is a wrestling discussion thread, not a wrestling bashing one.

I like Seth Rollins from an athletic standpoint (I'm always amazed when he rolls through a missed Phoenix Splash)

but, I wish he would improve his mic skills a little bit.
