@@Chivalry Knight,

No, keep it that way.

We'll just ignore Lemon's talking to his opponent as a good guess. Given that all the fighters are present though, don't you think it would be a good time to bring out the fight promoter, ring leader, referee, secret Alicorn god of combat, or whatever you're using to justify this?

When do you think we'll start the fighting?

When our characters are given the proper context as to how it works and who we're meant to face off against. Remember, in-story we've only been told by a flyer to come to this place and that a matched tournament is being held.

Unless somepony is particularly bloodthirsty and/or trigger happy, no one is going to be itching for a fight just yet.

You are saying that will be non-fighting people? No, that would be boring.

Not the least, just that we need at least one character to say "you've all gathered here to enter" or some variation of.

Foxist looked at Ash. "That dragon has such a arrogance!" "Remember, Guant; Everyone is bad inside. You do know by own experience." "Stop calling me Guant. This is no longer my name. You want to drive me crazy and ruin this after all." Evil stopped talking with him for a while. Foxist looked to Lemon, that was just staring at the clouds, indifferent.

Uhhh maybe I just don't know your character, but how does he know what Ash is thinking and feeling? Is he telepathic? Could he just tell from his posture?

@@Chivalry Knight,

Wait! So now we are going to be rated by how hard we hit a test dummy? How's that decided. Do you assign the stats or do we give them ourselves? What's stopping everyone from saying they have 10/10 in all categories?

And if we are fighting via "the honor system" why have the dummies give out stats?

I think you rate your character based on which catagories he's physically inept in. For example: Masque, my character, is not very strong. So, for the strength test, he only got a 4. However, since he is a trained, master acrobat, his agility should be his strong point. Thus, he got a 9.

So, yeah, basically an honor system, in my opinion. Only with a hint of RPG sprinkled in, lol.

(Was I allowed to do my own scoring? Also, please don't think Masque is a Gary Stue for getting 9 on his agility test. It only made sense, with him being a master acrobat and all...)

@@Chivalry Knight,

See? This is what I was talking about. Rules, context. Your players need to know these things.

Only more to my point. The fact that we need to assume such rather than knowing what we're actually supposed to do.

Well, I think thats the reason he simply gave an example of his OC doing it, rather than explaining it. Actually, he did explain it through that mare in the suit. He just didnt mention who would be rating the testers.

By the way, why are you using me as an example? I was only assuming that he meant for us to rate ourselves, based on our OC's stats. I think I made his stats rather fair and accurate. :/

My apologies if I was quoting you to ill affect. My point wasn't that you were being unfair, just that the rules don't seem that clear.

If we're going by the honor system, why are stats necessary? "light RPG rules" just don't make sense unless we are using a system that involves calculating those stats to determine an outcome.

Its fine. I just thought you were annoyed with my characters scoring, lol.

Oh not in the least! I have perfect faith that all of us will be honest in how we score ourselves.

The problem is perception. The strength it would take to lift a car might be 8 to one person but 10 to another. Without some solid grounding of what makes what, the stats don't tell others about one's own character. It's all relative.

The only reason I know "9/10 agility" is justified is because you told me he was an acrobat. Thus, "he's an acrobat" is a better establishment of your character and his abilities than a number score. See my point?

Ideally, we should be asked to just "show our stuff" and give a flashy description. That makes far more sense for a character based, honor system RP. The tacked on number system is misleading and over-complicates things.

Good point...so, I suppose that the best course of action, then, would be to simply wait for Chivilry's suggestion.

@,@@Steel Accord,@,

K, sorry. yeah basically rate the way you attack base don your OC. if your OC is agile then put more into agility. as you can see, Chivvy was a bit balanced in all 3. And yes you are allowed to use magic. Also this does not COMPLETELY reflect on how you will do on the tournament, but to give the other RPers an idea of what theyre going against. also I do not condone with 10/10/10 because as I stated in the rules, no Mary Sue or gary Sue OP OC's. :3

Also the weight doesn't matter, by saying "tough" i was referring that they are indestructible ^^

Cool. So, do I just have Masque wait until the others get through with the test?

@@Chivalry Knight,

Fair enough, I still think the number stats are completely unnecessary.

Just coming from a writing student who writes action heavy pieces, what tells us more about how good a fighter a character is, can't be boiled down to raw statistical value.

Muhammad Ali was far stronger than Bruce Lee, but if I was to guess who would win in a fight, I would pick Bruce.
