Help, Please

I'm trying to put the episodes in chronological order.  The Secret of My Excess takes place on Spike's birthday. The Cutie Mark Chronicles makes it clear that Spike hatched the day Twilight took her entrance exam for Princess Celestia's school.

 

Any idea when that would be? Most of the other Mane 6 characters were in school at the time. Would it have been Fall or Spring? & some idea how long before attending school would she have been tested?

Entrance exams or US schools tend to be during the spring time, and also judging by the weather in secret to my excess, its most likely spring.

And they never said Rarity was in school and not on summer break during her segment. There can be summer programs where kids at a school work together to put on a play under the supervision of a teacher or teachers. I should know, I was part of a school production one summer.

That is a really hard thing to try to figure out. There are many projects that try to figure out the timeline of the show but the writers said they never made the show with chronological order in mind. Many things overlap or contradict each other.

Also, Twilight was inspired to study magic by the Summer Sun Celebration, which marks the first day of Summer.

Dulset Tarn  True, Twilight was inspired to study magic, but it doesn't mean she immediately applied to Celestia's school.  It could have been a year or 2 after seeing the festival before she was old enough to go to school

 

Still, it's starting to look like this took place in June or later.  If the events of the 1st 3 seasons took place over 1 year, she had a VERY busy Spring.

Ok, thanks for the help.  IMO, The Secret of My Excess takes place in June.

My reasons

The calendar says differently but here in the USA we consider Summer to run from Memorial Day (last weekend in May) to Labor Day (1st weekend in September).  All of June is considered a Summer month, all of September is considered Autumn.  Fluttershy says "Summer Flight Camp", so June - August

 

School starts either 1st week in August or 1st week in September.  I'm assuming EQ is the same, so June or July for Twilight's test.

 

The Cutie Mark Crusaders probably formed the 1st week of school, as they met for the 1st time at Diamond Tiara's party.  They have a brief cameo (Spike tries to steal their scooter).  Thus, it must have been June.  T's test must have been a year or 2 after T is inspired to study magic.

 

The Next Problem. 

A Dog and Pony Show.  Saphire Shore has heard about Rarity, but Rarity is surprised by this.  Thus, it can't be after, say, The Best Night Ever or Green Isn't Your Color because R would not be surprised that S had heard of her.  I thought maybe T's dress in Sweet & Elite, but T's birthday is in the Spring & I am hoping for something in the Fall because Spring just has too much going on already.

 

Any suggestions for what Rarity could have done that Saphire would have heard of?
