Well you said that "backstory does not effect perk/traits/skills" but Ezekiel's backstory basically boils down to "raised to be a [trait: shaman], trained in Equestrian Zebra martial arts [TAG skills: melee, unarmed], in a loving secluded community. [Foal at heart.]

 

So if his backstory no longer effects him so profoundly, what does that make him in the present?

I think defender meant to say the background can be a matter of a "guide" to the perks/traits but it shouldn't dictate everything. Especially when it comes to perks/traits that should be acguired through the actual Roleplay gameplay or leveling.

 

Not to suggest you pull Ezekiel apart since for a zebra character like him, his whole life is that of his background.

Yea but can't get the perks. Defender said no. Who here thinks somepony who has been in The Pitt before will desire, forced or not, to do it twice? Dashia will die if have to do that again. She will make them kill her.

Well I guess I Am going to have to withdraw. It seems my input is mostly ununappreciated and not wanted. So it would be better for all, except the romancing partner, that I just withdraw. Background had quest perks of minor effect, But yall say said perks have to be gained in game. am not putting a character through again the torcher she went through for two years of her life. And nothing to show for it.

 

Am sorry to any characters that may be affected, But throw Dashia into the farmhouse and kill her off.

The Only way to het the two perks is by being forced to fight in the Pitt. There is no other way of getting them. Those perks are also minor in comparison.

 

Pitt Fighter only give 3% damage and Rad resistance.

 

Booster Shot gives 10% rad resistance.

 

These have no big impact on the main part of the story, the plant virus.

Hell, she can get that one by recovering from her wounds now, like say they got infected or something

I'm no rules lawyer so I say let her keep them. I mean, it's not like we're competing against each other, this is cooperative. If it means the enemies will be less threatening just write up new countermeasures for them.

I never saw defender reject the idea, I don't see a problem with those. especially since we aren't rolling damage.

With that logic I could say Greshken had enough experience in his life (which is 10 years longer than your character mind you) to be lvl 10, but have that up for quest perks. That makes no sense. We could all say we're actually 'supposed' to be a higher level because of our Background, but we're all supposed to be on an equal level.

 

And that's what's bothering me. Statistically speaking, your character would have a lot more benefits than all of our characters, while we're supposed to be equal. Your character would have more than ours, and that's a fact. There's nothing to argue about at that point.

The only compromise I can make for this issue is that a memory was extracted and later on they discover the memory orb and relive that memory to gain the perk.

Unless you can get one to lock the memory in the orb, and then do the same to retrieve it?

So if one knows that spell, they can cast it at the target and they'll remember a memory and retrieve the appropriate perk that way?
