Welcome to the reboot of Equestria: 28 Days Later. Now, I've made some changes from the original, and they are as follows:

 

First, the storyline.

 

One day in the peaceful town of Ponyville, a stallion by the name of Big Macintosh was helping his sister Applejack gather apples as per their harvest, when suddenly the family pet, named Winona, ran off into the Everfree Forest in pursuit of a butterfly. Ever the gentlecolt, Big Mac went after Winona, but his pursuit of the dog led him deep into the mysterious and creepy woodland. Then, as he continued to venture deeper and deeper, he came across a rare Crimson Wasp, whose sting carried a venom that could send its target spiralling into an uncontrollable rage. Big Mac attempted to swat away the wasp, but that was a bad move as in doing so he angered the creature. Subsequently, the wasp stung Big Mac. Immediately, he felt nothing, but all that was about to change.

 

Eventually, Big Mac found Winona sitting by a lake. He went to escort the dog back to the farm, but before he could, something began to overtake his senses. His head started to spin, his mouth was beginning to foam, a furious heat was starting to burn in his eyes, and then, everything stopped. The Crimson Wasp had injected Big Mac with a very rare virus known only as Rage, and much to Winona's misfortune, it had consumed the Apple family stallion within a matter of minutes. Blood streaming from his eyes and nose, Big Mac proceeded to brutally and sadistically mutilate Winona, before storming back to Ponyville, where he would unleash an epidemic on the unsuspecting ponies.

 

After rampaging through Sweet Apple Acres, he ruthlessly infected Applejack, who then joined him in infecting the rest of the population of Ponyville. Within seconds, the town was in chaos. Some managed to get away, but others who tried to run were relentlessly hunted down and infected. Some chose to hide in their homes, fortifying them in the hopes the infection may pass over, and they would be alright. Those who properly fortified their homes, from blockades right down to odour, went unchecked by the infected, but the same could not be said for those who did not properly secure their homes. The infected would bash their way in, mercilessly tearing into anything and anypony inside. 28 days later, Ponyville was in ruins. Almost nopony was left alive, save for a few lucky ones. This is their story.

 

Now for the rules, which have changed much from the previous RP.

 

Players no longer have to post in order, nor is there a set time limit. They may post at their own time. However, I would like if there was some sort of rotation added to the play. I will modify the rules if demand is high and unanimous.

 

No Alicorns, Mary Sues, Gary Stus or super-powered OCs. I will be happy to make a few exceptions in regards to the latter, but they must be kept at a strict minimum otherwise we'll have an unfair advantage. I want this RP to have an element of danger to it, so that we all feel in grave peril.

 

No godmodding

 

I'm OK with cussing, but please keep vulgar content to a minimum.

 

Please be sure to check your spelling and grammar. I want make sure we can all read what the characters are saying.

 

If anyone is infected or killed, they can come back, but as a new character totally unlike the one they made the first time out. Infected characters must be killed within 10 to 20 seconds or they will turn, so that's the equivalent of a full round. If the infected character is not dealt with, he will turn, and then it is up to the player to control what he does.

I need some guys here. If anyone is interested in a little zombie survival, feel free to sign up. First, my character.

 

Name: Firebolt Blitz

 

Race: Unicorn

 

Occupation: Royal Guard Sergeant

 

Weapon(s): Longsword

 

Backstory:

 

Blitz was patrolling Ponyville with a small detachment of his guards, who were attached to the Royal Guard garrison that was stationed there. Suddenly, just as he was about to order his patrol to return to their barracks, he saw a huge crowd of ponies running towards him. Before he could realize what was happening, some ponies in the crowd began biting the others, snarling, rasping and screaming as they moved. At the same time, he and his patrol came under attack from the infected. Thinking quickly, Blitz unsheathed his longsword and started slicing through the hordes, but he was unable to save his patrol, who were overwhelmed and infected. With nopony else to save but himself, Blitz fled back to the barracks in an attempt to warn the garrison, but yet another huge crowd of infected were hot on his trail.

 

Despite reaching the barracks, Blitz continued to flee as the infected tore through the unsuspecting Royal Guards. Rank-and-file soldiers and officers alike were caught completely unawares as the infected smashed their way through the barracks, tearing into them like wild animals. Blitz found a trapdoor leading into the barrack's store room. He locked himself in there, weathering the storm until the moment it passed. With his patrol dead and the garrison doomed, he resolved to flee to Canterlot the next morning in order to warn Captain Armor.
