"Yeah, I guess everypony has their quirks." Caramel looked around the room. Noticing the strange crystal and books, they seemed very interesting. She looked back at Tyra "If ye want I can watch him, ye can go get a drink, I don't mind at all." she said with a smile.

Tyra nodded, accepting that answer, and opened her mouth to deny the request before thinking. Caramel and Rave are incredibly close, so it's only right they have some time alone.

 

"Aye, I will give you two some time to yourselves," she nodded with a grin, "but if I am needed, you need only let me know!"

With a wave, she turned and walked out of the room and toward the kitchen with the others.

"You know you will lose in the end. You have nothing. There is nothing. Only darkness. Only the unending dark void". Rave was at a breaking point. The voice was starting to have effects. Rave moved a little bit in his bed uncomfortably. "You will never escape me, my little crystal" the voice laughed.

Caramel pulled up a chair close to Rave's bed and sat down. "Hi buddy, I'm here for ye. If ye can hear me, if ye need anything just ask or I don't know, try to move yer arm or something." Caramel said. She looked at him, waiting for an answer. "He's going to be okay." she whispered to herself. Rave then moved a little. "What is it, what do ye need." Caramel grabbed his hoof. No answer. "Come on, Rave. Whatever ye fighting in there, please come back to me. please be okay."

Something stirs within Rave. The voice recognizes the threat. "Do--don't forget your p--place. You are nothing, I am everything. You wi---" "SILENCE" Rave interrupted the voice. "I won't listen to your lies anymore. You are the one that is nothing. You live off of me. You are the one that has nothing. Now, begone". Rave seemed to be at ease now.

Caramel saw Rave struggling with himself. "Yer gonna be fine, I promise, just keep on fighting." Caramel said trying to support in a way. She was feeling really tired. They had a long day. The walking on the island plus the whole running and saving for lives. She yawned and eventually fell asleep, resting with her head on Rave's chest.

Spellbind enjoyed her tea, but still was concerned for Rave. Particularly when Caramel got up to check on him. Even though twenty minutes hadn't passed, Spellbind got up and headed for Rave's quarters.

 

She opened his door to see the captain with him. Tyra had left.

Rave seemed to be getting better. Eventually he opened on of his eyes. He had a headache. He opened his second eye. He lifted his head but wasn't able to get far as something was on his chest. He looked and saw Caramel resting her head against his chest. He decided not to move, so that he wouldn't disturb her. He looked to his side and saw Spellbind. He gave her a warm smile.

Grabbing a mug of cider, Tyra sat down at the table and enjoyed a few hearty swigs. She'd noticed Spellbind had gotten up and left somewhere, but she had no idea where she'd went.

 

Shrugging, she decided to just leave her be and down the rest of the mug, letting out a long loud belch.

"Aah, that is the stuff!" She laughed.

"R-Rave!" said Spellbind. "You're awake!" Seeing him give her that warm smile just did it for Spellbind. Tears started flowing down her face. "I-I'm sorry I couldn't be there to help you... why did it have to be-"

She heard a vulgar belching noise from the other room. She shook her head and smiled. "Tyra."

Even thou Tyra made a lot of noise with her belch and Spellblind with her talking, Caramel was still snoring, laying on Rave's chest. She was in a very deep sleep and didn't hear a thing. The day really tired her out, plus she somehow found her sleeping position very comfortable.

Rave smiled at Caramel. He could see her happy expression. He looked at Spellbind again. "It is ok. It is ok" he said soothingly. "There was nothing you could have done, nothing that anyone of you could have done. I got myself in trouble, I should have tried moving the rocks away with my magic. I know you came back for me, I saw you right before I passed out. Thank you" he smiled even more, reaching out with a hoof, waiting for her to take it, to express his gratitude.

Spellbind's tears from earlier had started to dissipate, but now they were starting up again. It took a few moments  of Rave holding out his hoof for Spellbind to realize he intended for her to hold it. So that's waht she did, although she was a bit cautious about the poison that had been there earlier.

violet had made a banquet of food that took all the tables in the ship to hold it! she was looking around in the forest, however, looking for that one missing ingredient for rave's antidote. "flare? did ya find it yet?" she asked, as flare flew by and dropped the flower on the ground beside her. the flower was caramel-colored, ironically. she took it, and dipped it in fresh water, tore it up a little, and mixed it into a drink. she made rave and caramel a little meal, and walked into the room where rave was sleeping. "rave, make sure you drink this and get something to eat." she said, as she set his plate and cup down. upon seeing caramel was sleeping, she added "and dont think i forgot you pointing that crystal at tyra. shes weak verses magic, what if it killed her, huh?!" violet was still very furious about that. she went back upstairs, and dug into the feast she had prepared.

Tyra perked up and watched, fish sticking out of her mouth, as Violet entered and sat down next to her. She hadn't seen her around a lot lately, and wondered where she'd go off to.

 

"Aah, Violet, it is good to see you!" She tried to say, but it just came out muffled from the fish. Blinking, she swallowed and tried it again.

Rave was thankful for the meal. He hoofed out some for Spellbind. "Here, have some as well. I am not that hungry, so might as well get some help eating it" he smiled to her. He then started eating his food. "You have been very helpful, to me, the crew and to Caramel".

Spellbind looked at the food Rave offered to her. She would feel bad about taking it. "How about we wait and see if you're still up for some grub after you've eaten the rest of that?" she proposed. If not, well, perhaps she could suggest storing it somewhere.

Wilhelm had been puttering around the ship all day, sometimes literally, in the sense of puttering with a golf club, though when his ball went off the side of the ship, he went after it. Wandering into the jungle a bit, he kept careful bearings on where the ship is, and he eventually came upon a small idol in the middle of the jungle, with burning candles around it, and offerings of food. With a slight snigger, he put his glasses on the idol's nose, and stepped back to admire his handiwork, however blurred. Then, the esrth began to shake, and Wilhelm debated the merits of touching forbidden idols, though he got through "Oh shi-" before he tumbled into a pit specifically designed for people like him. The world went black.

Rave looked at her for a moment. "Very well then". He kept on eating his food. "I don't understand what Violet meant with my crystal. She doesn't know magic, so she wouldn't know what effects the crystal would have on Tyra. I only meant to trap her inside the crystal for a moment so that she wouldn't.... die" he said the last word sadly. He sighed.

"I never noticed much different when I was with her after that time" commented Spellbind. "But perhaps I ought to go check up on her."

 

She excused herself politely, then headed off.

She sat next to Tyra. "How are you feeling? That crystal didn't hurt you at all, did it?" she asked.

Caramel woke up after sleeping for a while. "She looked around the room, rubbing her eyes. "What did I miss?" she said. Then she noticed that Rave was awake. "Yer awake, thank celestia." With huge joy she jumped him for a hug. "I knew ye wouldn't die on me. I knew it." a view tears rolled from her eyes.

Rave hugged her back, happy as well. "I am glad that you believed in me. I was trapped in darkness for a long time, longer than I would have wanted to be, I was so alone inside the darkness. There didn't seem to be anything there. I thought I heard your voice and I followed it, finding a source of light, finally waking up" tears started to stream down from his eyes as well.

Tyra perked up at a familiar voice, and grinned as Spellbind entered and sat at the table.

"Ah, greetings my friend!" She greeted her, then cocked her head at the question, "Crystal?"

 

She recalled the black crystal from Rave's room, how she'd nudged it and a shadowy figure emerged with a spark.

"Oh!" She yelped in realisation, and gave herself a quick look-over, "Well, I certainly feel no different, but my thanks for your asking!"

Spellbind was glad to hear that. Spellbind hoped not to seem mean to Tyra, but she commented about the hearty belching sound she had heard from rooms away. "You were like an exhaust pipe over here," she said. "That must've been plenty of cider to give you gas like that."

Tyra blinked up at Spellbind, quickly deciphering what she had meant, then let out a hearty laugh.

"Oh, I hope I did not offend anypony," she grinned, "back home, it is a sign that you are healthy and have had a good meal!"

 

She giggles with a smirk before adding, "My uncle, Fenrar, holds the record for the longest and loudest in the whole village!"
