Tyra frowned at Caramel's sudden explosion and departure. What was it that was wrong with her?

 

She looked to Rave and nodded at his orders before he teleported away.

"I am ready to depart now," she confirmed, then looked to the others, "if you are all ready, then I say we move now!"

Spellbind got anrgy and defensive at Caramel. "Well gee sorry, Caaaptain, she said sourly and sarcastically. "I had no idea you wanted to be addressed so formally amongst your friends. ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU NEVER TOLD US. AND ESPECIALLY SINCE WE'VE BEEN CALLING YOU CARAMEL FOR AGES."

Caramel heard some shouting in the distance but she didn't care. She noticed Rave following her so she flew into the forest, into the trees so that he couldn't see her anymore. After flying a little further between the trees she finally stopped to hide herself somewhere in a tree. She looked down at the ground, noticing that the ruins were not that far away from her.

Rave kept on following her until she flew into the tree lines. He gave pursuit, but soon lost her. "Caramel! Caramel! Please, come back" he said, tears in his eyes. He knew she was not about to show herself. He went back to meet up with the others on the beach. "Caramel, forgive me" he said crying.

Tyra hopped into the water and swam toward the island, an easy feat with her strength. She quickly emerged onto the beach and shook herself off like a wet dog, and waited for the others to follow.

 

She noticed Rave emerge from the jungle, tears in his eyes and muttering to himself about Caramel.

She walked over and put a hoof to his shoulder.

 

"Do not fear, friend," she smiled, trying to console him, "we will all go together to find her. Nopony on this ship is left behind, yes?"

Caramel heard Rave shouting her name, as he walked away, Caramel flew down into the ruins. She looked at a puddle of water, noticing that her mane didn't turn blue. "That is strange, I never felt so mad before and yet my magic isn't working....nah... it's probably just this island messing with me...nothing to worry about." she said to herself as she walked further into the ruins.

Rave put on of his hoofs on the hoof Tyra placed on his shoulder, holding it. "Yes, we wait for the others. We have to do this together, the last time we split up, everything went to mess..... I messed up, didn't I. I was supposed to stand with her, be there for her, instead I went against her".

Spellbind still hadn't gotten over the annoyedness Caramel had caused her and it was clouding her rational train of thought.

 

"You want to stand with her? Oh come on, its obvious she doesn't appreciate us. Didn't you hear what she just did? She thinks of us as worshippers not friends."

"But you objected with her safety in mind," Tyra confirmed with a sagely nod, "You wanted to protect her, which is naught to feel bad about."

 

She overheard Spellbind's concerns and nodded.

"Aye, she was not acting herself," she agreed, then shot a glare toward the jungle, "It must be this island's dark magic influencing her. We must find her and get as far away as we can, before it is too late!"

Caramel noticed a lot of ancient writing, the same writing in the other ruins. As Caramel walked further into the ruins, her mane started glowing and then it stopped. And again it glowed and stopped. She could feel that she was getting close to the center of the ruins. Close to whatever source that was messing with her magic and her behavior.

Rave leaned with his head again Tyra's shoulder. "I have failed her though, the mare that I love, that I will gladly give my life for, she now probably hates me, I love her, and yet we must part when this is all over. What will I do?" Rave was very sad, he kept on burying his face against Tyra's shoulder.

"Then why is it only affecting her mind and not anypony else's?" questioned Spellbind. This was her usual schedule. She would treat somepony with cruelty and anger when she was mad with them and not very long afterwards feel remorseful and regret saying it.

Tyra gently patted Rave's back as he dug his head into her shoulder.

"I know what you will do," she said, much sureness in her voice, "you will help us find your love, and you will help her with what is ailing her! As her partner, you will stand with us and be there for her, yes?"

 

She hoped her rousing speech wouldn't sound more like a lecture.

 

She turned to Spellbind and considered her question.

"I am not sure, I am curious myself," she answered, considering her abnormal weakness to magic, "perhaps, once we find her, we will find out why."

"Yes, we must find her, I am quite assure that she is not behaving like her self" he stood up completely, with a determined look on his face. "We will vanquish this evil once and for all, so that in may no longer prey on innocent travelers or trespassers and so that the spirits here can finally rest in peace".

"Aye, well said!" Tyra yelled, smirking with a hoof to her chest, "as we are all banded together, no manner of darkness shall stop us! Our captain is in danger, and it is us who shall help her!"

 

She grinned up to Rave. "With Caramel not here, it is you who is in command, yes? What are your orders?"

"We all go together to the ruins. She will have gone there. We will find her there together, we will not rush ahead and stick together. There will be traps and there will be ghosts, but together, we can overcome them and find Caramel. Let's go" Rave started to move out, sure that the others would follow.

She quickly followed after Rave into the jungle, filled with confidence that they would all find Caramel.

She felt rather proud that she could get Rave out his rut, and he looked like a real leader now.

 

She did secretly hope whatever dark magic he himself possessed was not influenced by the presence here.

Caramel was now really deep into the ruins, she had walked down a few stairs, walked through a lot of hallways and stepped on a few traps with painful results but she was still going. Something inside the ruins was pulling her in further and further. Her mane was still going crazy and her head felt like the worst hangover she ever had.

Lordy just tagged along. Not really saying anything. Cuting a few branches on the way with his sword.

"Blasted jungle..." He said as a branch hit him in the face.

violet had decided to catch up on sleep, so she was napping away in the crows nest.

 

she had left a note on the mast, should anyone wonder where she is, but for the most part, she didnt care.

Scarlett sat in a corridor of the ruins with her back to the wall and her hooves crossed. Upon seeing Caramel run off to the ruins she had teleported inside and had been waiting. As caramel came down the stairs near her she turned her head towards her and sais "Took you long enough Cap"

Wilhelm, meanwhile, hadn't bothered to listen to the others' idiotic feelsmongering. As soon as Caramel disappeared, he had taken off after her full flight speed, eventually following her into the ruins. A few minutes after she reached Scarlett, Wilhelm came up behind Caramel, frustrated, disappointed, and angry. In a dangerously calm manner, he said "Caram-... Captain... Why did you not wait for us? I could vaguely understand you leaving the others behind, but your coltfriend? You're being ridiculous, and these ruins have something to do with it. By any logic whatsoever, you would wait for reinforcements before tackling something so obviously powerful. Hell, this is basic discipline, not to mention common sense." 

 

Wilhelm paused after his tirade, finally calming down to a reasonable state of thought. More gently, he said "Caramel, we're all worried about you, Rave especially. How about we just stay here and wait for them before going any further?"

"What do ye want? and how did you two get here so fast?" Caramel said while passing Scarlett and Wilhelm as kept on walking. "I said I was going to this alone, what are ye doing here?" Caramel said still in her angry mood. Caramel stopped and turned around facing Wilhelm "He is not my coltfriend, none of ye are my friends. Leave me alone." Caramel started walking further into the ruins again. Leaving Scarlett and Wihelm behind.

As he speaks she listens, but upon hearing the words "coltfriend" she instantly when wide eyes and started shaking her head, mouthing the words "no no no" and drawing her right forehoof across her neck.

Spellbind had reached the ruins. She was looking around for Caramel and followed the sound of her voice. She heard Caramel say that none of 'ye' were her friends.

 

Spellbind refused to look like she was hurt. "Oh, this will make for an interesting conversation with Tyra and Rave..." she told Caramel.
