Tyra yelped as the figure appeared, bumping against Caramel in their panic. She quickly grabbed her axe, just in case this new figure was dangerous.

 

She approached the mare with Caramel, snuffling at her like a dog. "She does not smell abnormal..."

 

Upon hearing the mare stir, and ask who Caramel was, she returned her axe to her back before saying, "We may ask you the same question, stranger. You simply appeared before our eyes in thin air!"

Rave smiled to Spellbind. "Thank you. I am sorry for being such a burden, but that is how I have been my whole life. I was a burden to my family, the reason why I am banished. I was a burden to my school and Canterlot, the reason why I was kicked out and banished. I have been a burden to everyone I have ever met and gotten to know" he said as was beginning to feel more dizzy.

Looking at the pony she says "Why not thick air? Or normal air?". Standing up she says "And what are you doing sniffing somepony? Is that your normal reaction when someone appears next to you?"

 

"So, I'll ask again. Who are you two and where in Equestria is this place?"

"Thank Celestia yer awake." Caramel helped the mare up. "My name is Captain Caramel, pleasure to meet you. This here is Tyra. And I have no idea where we are except somewhere on an island, in some old ruins." Caramel said with a smile. "May I ask, who are you and what are ye doing here?"

Scarlett, after reluctantly accepting the help to get up responds to Caramel by saying "My name is Scarlett. Nice to meet you, Caramel, I think. And what do you mean you don't know where we are? And I don't know why I'm here, I was supposed to be in Ponyville. Why are you here?

"You know," she said. "If there was a way we could switch bodies, I would want to do it with you so that I would suffer instead of you. You deserve to be well more than I do."

"We are looking for our friends," Tyra explained, still keeping a careful eye on Scarlett, "they disappeared around here not too long ago."

 

She sat on her haunches and raised one hoof. "One is a mare," and the other, "And a stallion. Have you, perchance, seen them anywhere?"

Scarlett abruptly says "Nope", and lighting her horn up sends out a pulse of magic which gives everyone a small nudge. Opening her eyes and looking back to the two ponies "There are a few ponies in the nearby area. Which ones are part of your group? Is the injured one with you?"

Rave coughed violently again. "Do you know what is to deserve Spelly? You don't know what I have done. I have hurt other ponies, taken away their gifts. I once nearly killed another student, he survived, but his horn got deformed, and his magic is now useless. He was a really good magician. I took it away from him. I have hurt a lot of ponies in my path of stealing dark artifacts and trying to make sure that Sombra gets back to this world. I don't deserve any better than you, Spelly" he smiled. He lost all of his strength now and was not able to stand, however, he pushed himself away from Spellbind so that he would not drag her along with him.

Spellbind didn't mind assisting Rave so went back onto him to support him. She seemed reasonably fazed and surprised at his tale. "Yes... well..." she said, trying to find any excuse to elevate another pony above herself. "At least you're trying to move on from all that and do better. I just laze around and mope. I haven't been a sweet little angel either..." Spellbind's emotions were clouding her rational judgement.

Rave managed to look up. "You went back for me in those ruins, not giving any thought to your own safety, rather thinking about mine. I don't think that is moping around and not trying to do better. I know you are trying to do better Spelly. I know you are" his voice was getting a bit raspy and painful.

"What injured one?" Caramel realized it was Rave as soon as the words came out of her mouth. "Scarlett, can you teleport us to this pony. Could you do that? I mean you did it before right" Caramel said worried. "I think he needs our help right away." Caramel started pacing around nervously.

 

Shocked by the sudden request Scarlett quickly replies "Maybe, give me a second." Scarlett drops her bags onto the floor opens them and pulls out the metallic object she had previously used; "This thing only has enough charge for one trip, ready? I think I have your friends location"

Spellbind stopped trying to put herself down and win the title for the worse pony and just smiled back at Rave. "Yeah... that was kind of big and bold of me wasn't it?" she said. "Um, sorry to brag. Accomplishments like that are valuable to a wreck like myself..."

She watched Scarlett levitate some strange object out of her bag, which she felt compelled to approach and investigate closer.

"What is this device?" She muttered, snuffling it, "I have never seen such a thing before..."

She watched Scarlett levitate some strange object out of her bag, which she felt compelled to approach and investigate closer.

Pulling the metal away from Tyra she says "It's not a device, it's just an object I enchanted to store magic. And it currently only has enough charge to teleport us once. Are you both ready, I've never teleported other ponies before so if you want to opt out tell me now"

violet was helping wilhelm pick her up, and was about to lift her on her own, when she teleported away.

 

violet turned to wilhelm. "well, that happened." she said, "shall we continue trying to find a way out?" as they started walking, vilet chuckled. "it seems that if your a unicorn, you can just teleport out. some luck, eh?"

Spinning the object in the air in between the three ponies, Scarlett says "Here we go" and with a flash of light, they're all gone.

 

They all reappear where Rave is. Caramel and Tyra are alright form the teleportation, if not a little queasy, but Scarlett collapses and mumbles "That took a bit more than I had anticipated..."

You don't have to be afraid or ashamed of yourself" he reached a hoof out to her but it fell down as he lost all strength and passed out just as the others teleported in

Tyra groaned as she arrived back on the ship, stumbling from her feeling nauseous. Magic had a bad effect on her, so travelling with it made her feel next to throwing up.

 

Thankfully she could hold it back.

 

"Oof...greetings, friends," she muttered to Spellbind and Rave, seeing that the latter had passed out, "how is he fairing? Any better?"

Wincing in pain Scarlett continues "On second thought, no. It's as hard as it looks..."
