The Flag Of The Two Sisters... Since Before The Two Sisters

We all know about this continuity error from Hearths Warming Eve. But I think I may have found a bit of logic into why this may have happened in show cannon.

What if when they said "before the time of Celestia & Luna" they were only referring to their reign. We don't know how old the sisters truly are, but they were probably around before the conflict between the 3 tribes, as they were old enough to fight Discord & Sombra shortly after the events.

What if the tribes knew about the sisters in a spiritual sense? What if the alicorns were revered as gods by all three tribes? This flag could've been designed as something the tribes all had common knowledge of, and therefore, a common faith in.

What do you think?

Read Journal of the Two Sisters. That flag was the main reason AKR had lunch with Faust trying to figure out how best to explain its existence.

Pretty much, when they raised the flag, it's probably a time-skip where they were already raising the sisters to be their future rulers, something that was stated in the book

Indeed. IIRC, alicorns were already fairly revered by the other races, and the book pretty much says (or hints) that is was a natural choice to choose an alicorn(s) to be as protectors of the realm.

That's presicely the reazon they sook alicorns to be their rulers, as they realized, having a kingdom composed of three tribes of ponies, but having a ruler of one, would only create ANOTHER rift between them. I just wonder why they choosed to raise two alicorn foals to be their rulers, instead of having an adult one

Probably so that in time they would grow into their positions and learn what they needed to learn. Add in their naturally long lives, and it kinda makes sense to me; especially with Starswirl helping them.

Or maybe they were smart enough and thought that raising potential rulers since foalhood, not only would make them trained and well studied in the art of ruling a kingdom, but also to bond them with the land they are supposed to rule.
