"And what is your plan, snowball?" Tyra snarked, glancing aside to Blizzard, "Do you propose we use ice to destroy the monsters made of lava?"

 

She looked up to Radiant to listen to his answer. She accepted it with a nod.

"Very well," she replied, "where shall I and Caliber be positioned?"

[Commander Tangent 861]

"Got it " Icarus said with a nod. He walked over to Blizzard, who seemed to be engaged in conversation with Tyra. He walked up behind him and checked his medical bag and equipment. Everything was mostly still there, so he should be good. He was also feeling strong, so that meant he should be able to use some of his protective spells, if Blizzard could keep him defended in a bad situation. This would be one hell of a story to tell if they got out o this place.

Radiant looked backed at the group "caliber and Tyra remain thirty feet behind me, a fair distance so I can invoke any ambushes and you two can attack from behind. Blizzard and Icarus stay only ten feet behind them." He said returning his view forward.

Blizzard replied, "Yes that's a good idea Tyra. I'll do that, but for now, until I'm needed, I'll hang back here with Icarus. Let's go you and me! And don't worry Icarus, I'll keep you safe as long as you can heal me when I need it. Ready whenever, you are Radiant, just give us the orders and we'll follow 'em."

As Blizzard departed for the back, Tyra quietly tutted and rolled her eyes.

Is sarcasm completely lost on this fool? She thought.

 

She glanced to Caliber, thankful that at least he had the mind to not fuel the proverbial fire.

 

Her look returned to Radiant. "Very well, we will be ready for the attack." She nodded, grabbing her axe into her teeth and lowering herself, preparing to sprint on his orders.

After the entire group was finally situated into their formation, Radiant continued forward leading the group toward the next room where the screams of ponies could be heard echoing from. As they approached the opening of the room they could see the room was dimly lit by a soft orange glow, as they came closer they could begin to make out huge figures on the far side of the room. 

 

Radiant cast his light spell so he could see as he passed through the opening, he continued walking forward and could see cages and torture equipment with ponies locked inside them. Looking toward the back of the room he could see one of the proto-types he had faced before, looking to his left he saw two groups of dogs had noticed him. Radiant could also make out three proto-types along the wall who were beginning to slowly glow coming to life. 

 

Radiant cast his armor as he was being surrounded by dogs, he cut down a few dogs with his swords "Tyra, Caliber, you're up! Blizzard I need ice walls between us and the Proto-types!" He yelled out as his armor was being struck by weapons.

caliber sprung into action, rushing towards the dogs, and spinning through them. he could only assume tyra was right behind him, but he couldn't dwell on that. he just did what he did best. which is namely, swordplay. "IB! walls!" he said, as the proto-types started to move towards them.

Tyra leapt into action on Radiant's word, galloping toward the dogs by Caliver's side and bellowing a battle cry.

 

Using the momentum to her advantage, she swung at a dog and lodged her axe's blade in a dog, performing a mid-air roll to slam the infernal beast to the floor.

As she hacked and slashed at more dogs, she noticed one of those huge machines from before coming to life. The ones that nearly killed Radiant.

 

She was more than ready to tackle them herself, but they had a plan, and she hoped Blizzard would follow through on it.

Blizzard sprung into action, "Walls up! Ok guys these are pretty thick walls, and as long as I control them, they'll never get through, but I'm defenseless while controlling them, give me some cover guys alright?!" Blizzard held his hooves in the air to keep the walls up, but he couldn't do anything else while they were up, so he hoped histeammates would protect him.

As Blizzard yelled out putting up his ice walls, a few dogs turned their attention to him. Radiant saw the dogs heading for Blizzard, so he quickly levitated his swords toward blizzard cutting down the dogs. 

 

Radiant's swords returned to him cutting down a few more dogs. "Once these dogs are dealt with we will have to deal with those monstrosities." he exclaimed as he continued fighting.

Icarus stood at the back. His crossbow was raised, ready to hit anything that might attempt to attack him if it made it around his allies. He watched the battle carefully, making sure no one was getting hurt. everyone seemed to be fine at this point, so he remained on his guard.

calibers eyes narrowed. his strikes were getting slower. already? guess he really did push himself too far with his dark magic. he wasnt fully healed yet. he retreated from the battle (  ) and was beside icarus, breathing heavily. he was resting on his sword, hoping the others could take care of business. 'argh...why did i use so much dark magic?!' he scolded himself. 'the others need me!' he was steadily regaining his strength.

Blizzard kept his walls up as best as he could, "nnng, good job guys, keep it up!" Then a stray drop of lava touched his skin, "Aaah, dammit! Icarus help! This is really hot!!!" Blizzard was getting nervous and his ice walls started to become fragile, "Oh crap, no! Icarus I need healing!"

"Caliber, do not over exert yourself. You are still needed for more of this battle" Icarus said, helping the pony  by giving him something to rest on. Dark magic drained the users body, mentally and physically, it was going to be a big strain on him if he kept using it, even fatal if used religiously. Icarus reached into his bag and found his last remaining stamina potion.

 

"Caliber, drink this if you need it, it will rejuvenate you, but dont waste your new found energy" ICarus warned.

 

He then heard blizzard yelp in pain and move back to him. there was a large burn on him, with fur burnt off and skin and some other lower tissues exposed. Icarus nodded at his request and immediately started treatment with a healing spell, and a cold spell to numb the area for a short amount of time. Using his magic,, he also quickly applied a small bandage to the burn. At the most, this would stop the pain, as the wound would take a few hours to heal.

Tyra continued to cut down every dog in her way, not caring about any stray drops of lava getting on her. Her resolve had hardened, and she was too heated up by her fiery spirit to notice any burns.

 

She turned and noticed a pair of dogs heading toward Blizzard. She sprinted toward them and gave her axe a mighty swing, knocking one dog into another and into the wall, cracking and indenting it from the sheer force of impact.

 

She glanced up at Blizzard for a second before going back to brawling with the beasts.

"Give me all that you have, demons!" She yelled, daring them to come at her, "I will return it to you a thousandfold!"

caliber grabbed the potion. giving it an experimental sniff, he gulped it down. he felt new found strength surge into his muscles, and he leaped back into battle, hacking and slashing. he was weaving in between the monsters, making his way through the enemies.

[Chip Circuit 1,842]

Radiant spun all four of his swords around him slicing through each dog around him, leaving only two left who were going after Tyra as she had her back turned. Radiant levitated his swords toward the last two dogs as Tyra spun around shouting out a challenge at the dogs. As her last few words left her mouth the dogs had a golden blade run through the center of their chest, the swords twisted as they were then pulled out of their bodies.

 

The final dogs fell over dead and Radiant walked up to Blizzard using his magic to remove the still hot lava from his fur. "Now we have to deal with those bastards on the other side of the wall. Caliber you're on defense of Blizzard and Icarus, we can't keep funneling you stamina potions for this whole place otherwise you'll eventually be completely useless when your body calls it quits." He said looking toward the ice wall. "Now Blizzard go ahead and let the wall hold itself while you let one through. They have cores somewhere in their chest cavity but once they die they explode so be careful."

Tyra looked around at all the fallen dog monster bodies, a smirk of pride creeping onto her face. She would have calmed down, but the sight of those behemoths beyond the ice wall only fuelled her adrenaline, desperately wanting to put them down.

 

Radiant let out his instructions, and Tyra perked up to listen. Caliber was put on protection of Blizzard with Icarus, which only left her.

"Then you and I shall tackle these monsters together," She nodded to the team leader, ignoring the small burns on her body as she lowered down to break into another sprint, "Let them come! I am ready for them all!"

Radiant looked at Tyra "Don't forget how sturdy they are," He reminded Tyra as he looked back at Blizzard. "Once you leave the ice wall on it's own I want you to attempt to freeze their chest plates. I know you won't be able to freeze the chest plate but hitting it with something so cold and then the fire behind the metal keeping it hot will cause the metal to become brittle. Which will make it easier for Tyra and I to break through their armor."

Blizzard hung on every word, "Thank you Icarus and Raid for the help, now it's my turn to help you out. Release!" Blizzard let go of control of one of his walls and let on through, "Ok guys take him down! Concentrated Ice Blast!" Blizzard then blasts the chest plate of the monster with a concentrated blast which has more freezing power, but requires IB to concentrate realllllly hard.

Radiant watched this monstrosity slowly lumber toward them trying to walk against the onslaught of ice being thrown at it. He kept his eyes fixated on the chest plant watching as it was very slightly warping from the combination of extreme cold and the extreme heat. 

 

Radiant turned his head to the side when he heard on of the monstrosities slam against the ice wall to their side. The wall help but Radiant could tell it took some damage.

 

He turned his head back toward the monstrosity coming at them, its chest plate turning solid black. "Alright we should be good, Tyra you're a harder hitter, you break the chest plate once Blizzard cuts the ice. I'll throw my swords inside its chest once we have a hole in its chest plate," He commanded turning back at Blizzard. "As soon as that thing hits the ground I want a dome over it before it explodes!"

Tyra glared at the giant monstrosity, as it began to discolour from the cold ice lobbed at it combined with the sheer heat.

 

"Aye!" She yelled, nodding her head and waiting for the opportune moment, "This demon shall never see the light of day!"

 

As soon as the ice was cut, she was on. She dashed toward the behemoth and leapt up, arching her head for the attack.

As soon as she was close enough to the blackened core, she swung her axe heavily into the metal, a loud CLANK sending chunks of metal flying off.

 

Her blade wedged in the chest, she yanked the axe off and used the momentum to land next to Radiant.

"It is weakened! Now attack!" She yelled.

[Chip Circuit 1,842]

Radiant watched with his blades at the ready as Tyra leapt into the air at the monstrosity. She made her strike breaking its armor and landed back next to Radiant. Radiant sent his blades into the monstrosity's chest, cutting everywhere inside the chest plate making sure he hit the core. The monstrosity flinched suddenly and begun to fall to the ground. 

 

Radiant removed his blades jumping back so he wasn't crushed by the beast. It hit the ground with a loud thud "Alright, Ice dome now!" Radiant yelled back at Blizzard.

Blizzard was ready and waiting, "Ok I got it! Ice Dome!" He then creates a dome over the giant monster that keeps the explosion bottled up and his team safe. "Alright! One down, but stay on guard guys, there's still a few more! Rinse and repeat guys, just say when Raid, and I'll let the others go!"

Radiant looked at the wall and back at Blizzard "Alright let the other go," he said turning back toward the wall as he glanced over at Tyra "good job, just keep it up. Once we have everything dealt with in this room we will take care of your burns." 

 

Radiant readied his swords.
