So what's happening with that Equestria girls TV show?

You might have heard of the Equestria academy TV series that is supposedly due out, but in recent months I've noticed that the supposed TV series has completely dropped off the radar. It's been quite a few months and we haven't heard anything about it. References to it have been removed from wikipedia and when I google it I can't find any links to official sources (just fan sites), in fact I heard it was supposed to air in France late last year or early this year, but not one trailer, screenshot, or even character design has made it's way to the public. So is this supposed series just in ongoing development? Has it been cancelled? Did it even exist?

It was all a big misunderstanding due to the lousy wording used in a foreign article, and Equestria Daily cluelessly claiming it was "confirmed".

Well I'm kinda happy that there isn't a equestria girls show. I know rainbow rocks was good, but I have a sinking feeling this tv show would possibly take over the normal friendship is magic. Really, I think there should be no more equestria girls altogether.

I knew it actually wasnt going to happen but I still hoped I was wrong and that the translation was also going to be a show.

there was never an equestria girls series, it was really just the regular movie. there will be an equestria girls 3 though,

Even though there were strong rumors they eventually lead to nothing. A lot of it was indeed due to mistranslation. You can read more about it here.
