Steel and not Ezekiel? Just curious as to why.

Naga can feel that Steel Accord has done meditation and has reflected upon his soul. Naga feels great power from him. Steel Accord, with his virtues, also reminds Naga of a dear friend who was mighty in both name and deed. Naga wishes to battle Steel out of Nostalgia for his friend, and to guage the strength of the spiritual power that he feels from within Steel.

And he also seeks to innocently annoy Steel, considering that he acts like an absolute buffoon.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.

If it's meditation and spirituality that you are playing at, I would recommend you challenge Ezekiel, he is a shaman and has meditated deeply on the matters of the soul and spirits. The personality section for Steel? Almost a copy and paste to Ezekiel.

Ezekiel is supposed to be me in Fallout Equestria as Steel is supposed to be me in canon Equestria. It just so happens spirituality is a stronger theme in the former than the latter. (Explicitly as opposed to some of the subtextual inference that could be made from the show.)

You could achieve a similar result of annoying him as Ezekiel has the same personality and same frustration with irreverence as Steel.

True, but where as Naga feels the latent power from Steel, it is fully realized in Ezekiel. Naga wants to challenge Steel, as he sees him as a worthy mortal, and one that could run the unbound gauntlet.... Plus, in Naga's words,

" He looks like a fun fighter!"

( If you really want me to challenge Ezekiel, I understand.

Well let's discuss this. Ezekiel is only "fully realized" in this current RP because that's the only way he could even fight the cardinal sin against creativity that is a Gary Stu villain. Otherwise he's just a zebra with skill in the martial arts and some affinity for the things between Heaven and Earth.

So Ezekiel could fight Naga in the same vein as a trickster mentor, like Yoda, Rafiki, (or Arygyn if you watched Storm Hawks). One who appears as a fool but is more wise than the "serious" student who thinks his lessons are just the rambling of a loon.

Plus, Naga being immortal would also justify the fight, as he would survive well into the Wasteland.

@,

What spiritual presence do you see in Steel though? As I didn't really write him with that intent.

Sounds good. Now, I will say, Naga has a feral form ( don't know if you read about it.) That he absolutely detests. This form only comes out if Naga is about to die ( defense mechanism) or voluntarily through channeling negative karma ( which is a last resort tactic for the protection of others.) In this form, all of his attributes are increased, but his intelligence is SEVERELY cut down, to the point where he may as well be a rabid animal.

The only reason I mention this is that canonically, in this RP, Naga has no real reason to use this, unless unitentionally severely injured. This is merely an option to spice up the fight, and it is completely in your power to accept or refuse a fight against Feral Naga. It would also give Ezekiel a reason to go all out. Like I said, it is completely your choice ^__^

That won't be necessary. I don't plan on winning this fight. Think of it as Mr. Miyagi showing Daniel the purpose of "wax on, wax off" Ezekiel/Steel acting in the place of Daniel. So invoking the feral power would just be out of character for Naga.

Just so he isn't completely off the table:

@@Steel Accord

Well, as a Vetala, Naga is extrmely spiritually sensitive. He can tell when a being has taken a look at their soul and has strengthened it through meditation and self reflection.

Not that I'm accusing you of being uncreative, but is Naga in anyway inspired from another setting?

And really? I didn't plan on winning this fight either. While strong, Naga's disposition is that of a wise fool...

That, and it gives me a reason to get off my lazy, tired butt and write pages for OCs that ive literally been concepting on for almost a year. For if Ezekiel wins, especially against a feral Naga, it would earn the notice if the unbound king... ( who is also still in concept. I'm uber busy XD)

Not that I'm accusing you of being uncreative, but is Naga in anyway inspired from another setting?

Naga was inspired by Buddhism/Hinduism and is a Vetala, an actual creature mentioned in the religions' text. I'm coming out with a set of multicultural/undead OCs, drawing inspiration from different cultures and folklore of undead.

Naga was inspired by a current spiritual crisis that I'm dealing with. His abilities of immortal and bodyhopper are true Vetala, while hooksword knowledge is based off a nearly extinct and now ceremonial art. The idea of Naga came to me in part due to music, and draws a VERY small inspiration from the character Jago from Killer instinct, an old fave.

I was working from the assumption that you thought Ezekiel had achieved a kind of enlightenment when in all other RPs besides this one, that's not the case. Whereas Naga appears further up the cosmic ladder than Ezekiel is and Steel would be somewhere near the bottom. He's religious and has meditated but per the show's relegating that to subtext, he hasn't gotten the chance to really hone his soul as anything more than a hobby and outlook.

Again, either Steel or Ezekiel is fine I was just trying to go with your established theme. I like it better when characters fight that are different in some ways but similar in others. Whereas Ezekiel has some things in common with Naga, Steel has basically nothing.

I would also prefer it if I not be involved in Naga's mythology. I'm sure it's fine, but both Steel and Ezekiel are firmly set in their respective canons.

In fact, it was Jago's theme that I concepted him to. However, the only similarity is that they are tibet/eiquet equivalent.

And I will respect your wishes. However, once the OCs are drafted, you will most certainly have the chance to fight whichever catches your fancy.

I will leave it to you then, the Shaman or the Swashbuckler?

But you requested Steel first. Now that I understand where you're coming from, I'd be willing to use either. Really no preference. If you wish for this fight to be dual sword extravaganza and a spiritual awakening for Steel, it could be the same for Ezekiel.

Well it has been awhile since I stretched my wings. So to make a long conversation short:

*Steel put on his feathered tricorne*

"I accept your dueling challenge."  :mustache:

Yah, go for Steel :3

Ooooo, just thought of something. It'll be cool for me to train with Steel ^^

I don't know where this sudden popularity of mine is coming from.

@Steel Accord I don't know, guess reading your info on the RP character stuff, mhm o3o

Is he really that well written of a character? I mean I'm proud and everything, he is my ponysona after all, I just didn't think he'd be this well received.

Maybe I should try and work on that self insert fanfic a bit more.

You're the resident bad :yay: , you should be proud. Honestly, I want to fight you too, though I feel that a fight between Steel Accord and Sleight Mist would be... less than well received. :o
