Rainbow Dash was exhausted after her race with Lightning Strike and Lightning Dust. Neither suiting of their names. Although for an amateur Lightning Strike was pretty good even if she finished last; she might not of it weren't for Lightning Dust playing dirty.

She wondered why she was even racing. Rainbow thought Lightning Dust quit after being rejected by the Wonderbolts. She might of herself; in fact, she almost did because of Lightning Dust herself. She had behaved recklessly and inconsiderately...She injured other trainees in addition to incompetently risking her friends lives. Her negligence was a good enough reason to revoke her wings.

The more and more Rainbow thought about it, the more and more admonishing she thought to herself. Yes, Lightning Dust behaved poorly, but did Rainbow ever Reconcile with her to see if he had a light side. She finally did with, Gilda and was quite pleased that she did make the effort to revive that near forsaken friendship.

Rainbow continued to ponder. She may have made amends with Gilda but she never intended to. Her reason of going to Griffonstone was to spread friendship, but she didn't even do that. Pinkie pie did-- Rainbow, who was nuzzled into a cloud, trying to fall asleep, turned red in the face. She was embarrassed, humiliated. She never came to the mind boggling realization that she hadn't practiced friendship in the moments she really needed. Her heart ached and head throbbed. She lay silently on the cloud, glad to be alone as that's all she believed she deserved at the moment.

Fortunately, fate was lenient as her friend, Twilight, who happened To be looking for her had alas spotted her, "There you are, Rainbow." She cheered. "Are you ready to go eat with Rarity, AJ and I? Pinkie can't come and Fluttershy said she would be occupied with her animals." Twilight explained, still smiling as she couldn't see Rainbow's glum face blanketed in the now, greyscale colored cloud.

Rainbow Dash listened aloofly. She just remembered that she had made dinner and shopping plans with her friends for that night and it was a bit late to back out now. She let out a deep sigh before lifting her head. "Sure Twilight, let's go," she said monotonously.

"Great!" Twilight exclaimed, "I'll race you to Rarity's." Before Rainbow could respond, Twilight hard ironically, dashed off. Rainbow let out a groan of discontent before slowly flapping her wings and lethargically racing after Twilight. She was going to have, "Fun."

Nightingale had still been staring at the fire, even as Strix had charged over and started shouting at her. It was beautiful; probably the best she'd seen in a long while, and it almost sang to her with its intensity. They just didn't make houses like they made Fluttershy's anymore, she thought as she closed her eyes, and she would know; she'd burned plenty of them in her times. And what good times they were.

She slowly turned towards Strix, opened her eyes, and grinned widely, her dark body and white teeth striking a monstrous and demented contrast to the raging fire in the background. She looked like a demon.

"Not enough love from my parents?" she quipped. "Not enough attention from the world? Although that last ones probably true..." She put her hoof up to her chin as in thought, before putting it back down again.

"To answer your question, darling...why does there need to be a reason? Or a problem? Is it that hard to imagine that I don't have one? That I do these things..." She leaned up close, practically whispering in Strix's ear.

"Because I can?"

"Doing it for the hell of it, huh?" He asked, his ear flicking from her whispering, "I get my kicks the old fashioned way; beating up bad ponies. Especially if there's coin to make doing it. And something tells me someone out there has a pretty bit put on your head."

Ash grunted as he stood up and walked after Pinkie Pie; stretching his arms as he did so. With any luck the two of them would reach the foot of the mountain they planned to climb by sunset, despite having slept in. That is, if nothing got in their way during the journey.

“Grrrr… Some ponies know how to make a bad day worse…” Fuse muttered to himself.

Even the tiny pegasus landing on the back of his neck didn’t distract him from looking inquisitively at Glory. Nightingale simply frowned as she stepped and turned away from the griffin, with a disappointed expression on her face. She let out a sigh.

"Ugh, so that's who you are, then. No sophistication, no class, just raw muscle, a firearm, and an angry expression on your face... No, you're not the right one for this game. Not like that pony I met on the street the other day. There was something... so special..."

Her expression changed briefly, becoming one of almost divine sorrow, before she turned back towards the griffon, and it was all erased.

"Anyways, you're not worth my time or the weight of this game, and your lover isn't really fun anymore. I suggest you go take care of her... she doesn't look to be in the best of shape." She grinned widely at the quip. "I, on the other hand, have things to take care of. Ciao." She began to take off from the scene, setting a moderate, almost relaxed pace as she cut through the air.

"Yeah, I don't blame you for scurrying off with your tail between your legs," he spoke up again, "Typical, big talk until someone your own size shows up, then pulls the 'You're not worth my time' card. Go on, little pony, fly away to your safe place where the big bad griffon can't hurt you."

"You don't get it all." Nightingale stopped in the middle of her flight, hovering in place above the ground. And, once again, she wasn't smiling; she didn't even look back at Strix as she spoke. Her voice lost it's usual grandeur as well, becoming soft and plain as she talked to him.

"You're wrong. I'm leaving because there's no gain here. I'm leaving because you have nothing you care for, and nothing to love, which means you have nothing to lose. Not yet, anyway."

She shook her head, and without another word, took off moving in the same direction.

@J.R.@The Down Trotten

-snip-

Celestia gave a tight hug to the foals wrapped around her, always pleased to meet new ponies. When she finished wrapping her hooves around them, she spoke to Ice Blizzard first.

"It's alright, Ice Blizzard; the pony who did this was none other than myself. It seems the magical fallout from one the sun orbs struck me in battle, leaving me here. But, i'm alright now. As for the pony whom I challenged, please don't worry about him. He meant no ill will." She chuckled lightly to herself. "He's actually quite the gentleman."

She looked up, and it was then that she noticed Sunset Shimmer, standing off to the side, eyes shining with relief. She promptly levitated the two foals around her to the floor, then accepted Sunset Shimmer's immediate charging hug without complaint.

"I knew you'd be alright," she whispered softly. Still, she was content to bury herself around Celestia's mid-section for an extra moment longer than necessary, before slowly releasing. That left Celestia free to step off the bed onto the floor. She looked no different than before she had stepped into the hospital. The daughter of the sun had returned.

-------

"Well..." AJ had kept walking, and happened upon the state of her bar. She also happened upon a thought. Maybe...

"Look, I don't think you meant anything by it, but if you're that cut up about it, i'll make you a deal. Now, this here's bar a mess..." She pointed to the general condition of the bar, and it was. Bottles were left on the tables, liquor was spilled on the floor, and several glasses were shattered from the fight she had broke up hours ago.

"...I have a meeting with the girls later on today. Now I told them I couldn't go because I had work to do, but..." She once again pointed to the general condition of the bar; it was completely empty, like they'd found out the whiskey was toxic, or something.

"Everypony here has left in order to go see Celestia's fight, or to heckle the poor sucker that got stuck in a match with her. So this bar is now officially closed for the day." To put emphasis to the point, she walked over to the door and changed the sign. "Closed for Business" now hanging prominently outside instead of in.

"But, uh..." she scratched her head. "Long story short, I need somepony to clean this mess so I can get out of here sooner, so i'll cut you a deal. You help me fix this place up, and i'll let you off the hook for whatever you did. Deal?" She held out a sturdy hoof for him to shake; it seemed simple enough, to her.

-------

@Star Saber

"Don't worry about it, i'm just glad you're all right." She shook his hoof tightly, like she'd been taught to, before letting go. Then... she turned backward to Glory, the doll behind her, and began to have a miniature one-sided conversation, right in front of Calibur.

"What?... Of course he's a little curious about you...No, that doesn't mean he's dangerous... Well, yes, it doesn't mean he's not dangerous, but... Well of course he could be, but..." She rolled her eyes once to punctuate, before sighing. "Okay, i'll ask him."

She turned back to Calibur, only smiling slightly less than before.

"Hey. So, how exactly did you get so injured in the first place. You were in a terrible condition, and there were burn marks all over your body... but there's no flames anywhere around here. What exactly happened to you?" She cocked her head to the side quizzically; she was now just as curious about this as Glory was.

Trixie had a lot to work on, and she thought she had achieved a big step in removing her cloak and hat for good, but had she really? Or was the new pony Rhetoric right? Had she really just buried another part of herself that she possibly needed? Presumably, more than she ever knew...

She broke her thoughts briefly.

"...You know, I can help with that." She looked pointedly at Rhetoric's burns, not quite smiling, but not frowning either. " I learned some basic healing magic while I was at Celestia's school. Obviously, not major re-construction, like she does, but it will numb the pain a little and speed up the healing process."

Ice was happy that the princess was ok, "Whew. Happy you're alright, Celly. I hope to see you back in action soon, but after an experience like that, I think you'd need rest. That's what I always do after I leave the hospital, and trust me, I've been to the hospital too many times not to know. Haha."

He went to open a window in Celestia's room so she could get air, when suddenly, Electron flew up to it, "Hey snowball."

Ice was surprised, "Electron? What are you doing here?"

Tron smirked, "Just come by to see you, oh, and a few friends of yours as well...."

Ice's eyes widened, "Uh....how many....?"

Electron looked away, "He's over here! I know how much you love attention, snowball, so here ya go.."

Suddenly, the crowd of ponies who had been chasing Ice from earlier, surrounded the hospital. They were at the window, the front, and back doors. Ice wasn't happy, "What the--? You know I hate all this attention! Now you give away my position?!"

Electron smirked, and sarcastically remarked, "Oh you don't? Well...my mistake. Oh well, good luck with the mob, snowball! HAHA!" he laughed cockily as he flew away, leaving the mob of ponies looking for Ice to crowd the hospital.

Ice was nervous as he turned to the others, "Oh no...." he grabbed a newspaper, and showed it to Celestia with the morning article that caused all of that, "Because of this article printed by the Chatty Cathy, everypony in town is hounding me for the secret to my family's paradise portal. Of course which I can't reveal to anyone, but somehow, the uh..." he cleared his throat, "The so-called 'head' of the Chatty Cathy caused this, now I'm getting mobbed wherever I go. I wish it would stop."

He had no time to focus on that at the moment, he had to get the mob away from the hospital, "I gotta lead the crazy ponies away from here. They're gonna cause hell for all the hospital patients with their noise." He walked up to a wall with a vent, "I'm sorry I gotta go before this causes anymore strife. I'll see you guys later, hope you get that rest, Celly. Bye Leks, and Sunset." He went over to the hospital desk, and put a bag of bits on the counter front desk, "This should cover the damage I'm gonna cause...." And without another word, Ice punched through the vent in the room, and crawled through it, eventually punching through a vent in the rooftop of the hospital. From there, he ran and jumped across each and every following building, until he was on the opposite end of the block, where he dropped down to the sidewalk, "OVER HERE!" he shouted at the mob. Almost instantly, the mob took notice of Ice, left the hospital in peace, and started to run after him, "Bring it on, you crazy crowd....."

With that, Ice started to run away from the mob as fast as he could, all over town.

Back in the hospital, Axton looked up at what just happened, "What. A. Dumbass." he said, and started to break out in laughter afterwards, "Did you see that stupid kid? He's running away from adoring fans. What a blue idiot. HAHAHHA"

He gave kind of a amused exasperated look to Trixie "some day huh? You would think with all the happen's here the rest of Equestria wouldn't be so mundane, makes the Everfree forest seem like a walk in the park. Not that I've ever been, ponyville has been off my map for some time now, ever since..." he trailed off "Um anyway, you said you had a magic shop? "Whatever helps you sleep at night," Strix snarked, letting out a condescending chuckle, "Next time you actually want to take on someone who will put up a fight, gimme a call."

He looked back at the unconscious Fluttershy behind him. She was indeed still breathing, so that was something. Maybe one of her friends would show up to come get her or something. That fire might cause some trouble for the locals though.

"Fire!" A pedestrian called out in surprise and terror before scampering off. Well, there was that sorted out.

Though, something inside him told him to stick with the pegasus till she was up and about again. It was only fair; she fixed up his broken arm before for free, so he could stick around to make sure none of the panicked ponies around here trampled on her. Then they'd be even.

Nightingale increased her pace as she flew over the busy streets, and arround the groups of ponies that were now crowding around Fluttershy's burning house. With all of the pegasi up in the air already, trying to put the fire out, she blended in perfectly. No one would ever stop to question why she was here. She'd simply be leaving the path of the blaze, like most ponies had already thought to do.

Nightingale breezed by the top of a building, and filed off on her mental checklist as she stopped, landing on the rough gravel at the very top of the complex. Fluttershy, she remembered her being called, had not been on it. She had just had an overwhelming urge, and couldn't seem to control herself in that moment. But, she knew one pony that did happen to be on it, and one that was long overdue for a visit. A mare with a stash of gems so big, it could keep her satisfied for months, and ones so beautiful, they called out to her soul like a siren's song. But, maybe the best part of it all...

She grinned suddenly, and though her teeth weren't pointed, one could get the impression that she was a shark just by looking at her. Or, that they were a minnow. She took off again, pushing down and lifting off of the building with her usual silent flair. Picking the direction of the building she was about to hit, she moved off in its direction, but slowly. She wanted to take her time for this.

-------

@The Down Trotten

Trixie thought about the request, rolling her eyes and subconciously chewing her lip as she thought it over. She actually did have a few things that could help him out, and some that even worked for non-unicorns. They were all at her shop, of course, but she would be able to get them within a moment's notice, and they were instant ready for use, so Rhetoric could certainly use them. She stopped chewing her lip, drawing her eyes back to him pointedly as she shifted backwards on the waiting bench.

"There are some things I could do to help you, and i'm pretty sure you'll find at least some of them useful. Of course, they're not cheap..." She chewed her lip, thinking again. "But, after your win against Celestia, I don't think money will be much of a problem. So if you want, you can drop by my shop anytime. And if i'm not there, that..."

She stopped, blinking suddenly, like she had just forgotten something. Something important.

"...that foal that works with me in my shop will be. Just explain it to her, and she'll get you what you need." She paused for a second,  staring down in concentration, as if she was truly coming to difficulty thinking this over, before her face relaxed as she gave up entirely. Instead, she gazed back up at Rhetoric once again, this time in curiosity.

"Or...did you want them now?"

-------

Applejack almost rolled her eyes, and it was only the teachings and occasional swats and spankings that had come from Granny Smith that prevented her from doing so. In truth, she felt he was going too far, and working too hard, and making a whole lot of hooey out of nothing, just like the other ponies that occasionally got caught sleeping in the Apple Family barn, or eating their crops, then apologizing. Apparently, nopony realized that Applejack just wanted to help ponies out, and that she didn't need anypony owing her a life debt, or any debt at all. In fact, that usually led to more trouble, and as she remembered one particular day when Spike decided he wanted to do just that, she repressed a shiver.

But, on the other hoof, she could appreciate somepony who liked to work hard, and apparently, Night Tracer had a sense of honor, and wasn't afraid to work hard in exchange for hospitality. She could respect that in a stallion, or anypony. She took the hoof, shaking firmly and powerfully, just like she'd been taught.

"You got yourself a deal. In fact, i'll do you one better; ya work here, ya can stay as long as you like, on account of you not having anywhere else to go. As long as you don't interrupt my work, except for anything important, and stay out of my bed, that is." She gave him a hearty grin. She was dead serious.

-------

@J.R.

Sunset Shimmer stopped and pause entirely, the weirdest expression slotted perfectly on her face as Ice Blizzard's procession came and went. Then, she shook her head, and rolled her eyes, grinning amusedly to herself as she did so. It would be fun times here, if this day was anything to go by. Honestly, sometimes she didn't know why she left in the first place.

"You just don't get this back in Canterlot High. Not at all." She then picked up the rude comment that came from the bed ridden ponies mouth, and she whipped her head in his direction, ready to berate him once again for his terrible behavior. But, she never got there; her head stopped partway on its turn, and was now focused curiously on Celestia. She was staring out of the open window in front of her with a look of concern, apprehension... and fear.

"Celestia...what's wrong?" She trotted up to her teacher softly until she was right next to her, and proceeded to look out the window as well. But, try as she might, she couldn't find anything that would account for her teacher's reaction. Unfortunately, she didn't have to, because Celestia provided the answer for her, a simple question that nonetheless raised an immediate red flag with her, purely because Celestia was asking it

"Sunset Shimmer...what time is it?"

Ice continued to run as fast as he could from the mob chasing him, using his dexterity to his advantage as he moved, "I can't outlast these fools forever. I gotta lose 'em somehow....." He saw a crosswalk up ahead, and gained an idea, "I got it. Shake 'em, make 'em, and break 'em!" Picking up his running speed, he jumped. The longest jump he had ever made in his life to clear the crosswalk from one side of the street to the other. While he was in midair, one could see him easily rotate his body so that he was facing the first side, and shot 2 blasts of ice down to the ground, freezing the crosswalk, and making it unable to cross over. If this was in slow motion it'd look like something out of an action move.

Rotating his body again, Ice stuck his landing on the other side of the street, and continued running, "That's how we do! Whoo! Yeah!" he had effectively lost the mob...for now. He rounded the next corner, and made a beeline straight to his apartment, run upstairs, and closed the door, locking it, "Whew. I am safe up here. Safe safe safe safe....."

He looked out his window, and his facial expression turned to petrified fear, "Son..of...a...buck....." the mob had not gathered outside the apartment complex, and knew Ice was there. They were shouting, and yelling, and knew he had to come down sooner or later. "Great. Now I'm trapped up here," he said, looking out of his window, "Hm. Better here than there."

Looking at the clock on his wall, Ice got another thought, "Is it me, or is my clock off?" he looked at the clocktower down the road with his ice binoculars, "No way....something's wrong....."

"Whatever works best for you, although I could use them now, wouldn't want to get waylaid on the streets. This level of notoriety is going to be something completely different, and thats saying something coming from me. But are you alright you seem to be lost in thought." he gave her a concerned look then backed up a tad "I'm sorry I don't mean to probe, well I suppose I do, I mean I shouldn't, gez I'm rambling again" he shook his head at himself lightly

"So yes now would be great, of course that's presuming some other bizarre phenomenon doesn't happen and sweeps us away. I doubt it, we seem to be the one's the universe could care less about..." he ended on a slightly melancholy note, also hoping that he didn't just make that whole conversation awkward, he had a habit of doing that

@@Unicorncob, @,

The glass didn't take that long to sweep up, true the window still needed to be replaced but at least the floor was safe to walk on again. This thought didn't give him much joy however, he had just heard the agruement in the other room, it would seem he had crashed into more then just a window, hopefully like the window it could be fixed. Heaving a heavy and sad sigh he quickly grabbed his mailcolt uniform, threw it on, and made his way out. Of course he had to stop by Ditzy and the Doctor first.

With as much dignity as he could muster he addressed them, the Doctor first "look...Doctor, there's no need to make this a soapbox Opera, I'm going and Ditzy here was just being a kind and understanding Mare, your very lucky to call on her you know. Ditzy, mail me the bill, I'll get it soon enough, and hopefully I'll have your window replaced before I leave Bangcolt. Now I'm going, and you two lovely dovies, have a good day alright?" he tipped his hat to the both of them sad to go, to guilty to stay

@@Fractured,

Calibur watched Glory and Anette speak to each other, or rather just Anette. He felt like he was definitely missing out on something. Wait, Anette, that sounded familiar. However that could wait, Anette had asked him a question, one he wasn’t sure how to answer…

“I… attempted to apprehend a criminal I encountered in the streets here… but I failed.” Calibur sighed and stood himself up. A few small pieces of shrapnel that had been pushed out of his wounds by Glory’s healing clattered on the street as he walked over and picked what was left of his shotgun. “He was… out of my league apparently.”

Axton was still trying to get sleep, but couldn't due to the constant talking of the princess and Sunset Shimmer, "Damn mares. Think they're so important that they can't leave a guy to get some sleep around here."

He looked up when he heard Celestia ask the time, and said, "Time for you to get your damn sundial fixed..." he mumbled, just high enough that they could hear him as he turned over.

As the two warriors lay collapsed by each other, a medical team was dispatched from the arena's infirmary to retrieve and provide medical attention to the duelists. Having to form an eight-pony team, two Earth pony medics were sent out with a normal-sized stretcher towards Tyra. However, six Earthpony's had been sent out for Lorec, seeing as how his massive girth would probably impair a lesser number's ability to properly carry him.

Gently lifting Tyra and Lorec onto their respective stretchers, the medical ponies rushed them back to the infirmary quickly, but carefully. The blade pieces of Lorec's sword were also retrieved and would be delivered to his bedside, as well as Tyra's axe being delivered to her.

--------------------

[KAZAS]

Having pushed his way through crowds of shocked onlookers, Kazas would eventually make his way to the infirmary with Vera, slowly draining of life, upon his backside. With haste, Kazas would manage to rush through hospital staff and slump in a fit of panicked frenzy, desperate that his lover not perish in vain.

Managing to get her onto an unused gurney in the contestants' quarters despite the protests of various nurses and doctors, Kazas immediately placed his claw upon the forehead of Vera, right below her horn.

As he did so, a white ethereal aura surrounded him, and eventually would engulf Vera as well, flowing around her gently. What Kazas was doing, was transferring his own life force energy to Vera from his soul, using Ezerepth's soul as a bridge between them. This transfer would aid her body in all functions regarding organic repair, essentially overcharging her soul in order for the body to accelerate its processes. What this meant, of course, would be that cuts that would days to heal, would close in merely a matter of minutes, and broken bones would mend in only a few days. However, as it was his own life energy that he was transferring to Vera, Kazas himself would be weakened exponentially. And of course, with him being a griffon, many around him would question this feat, as some around him were already starting to stare with jaws agape.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.

Tyra was completely unconscious and unaware to her surroundings. Onlookers from far away may had even declared her, and Lorec, dead!

The two medic ponies lifted her onto a stretcher, an easy feat given her small, light frame. She laid motionless and still bleeding, and her breathing was a little erratic due to exhaustion, but her heartbeat was slowing and becoming more steady.

Ice was still sitting in his bedroom, pacing the floor, wondering what to do, "Oh man. I'm stuck up here. What am I gonna do? I can't stay here forever...."

Suddenly, Electron flew up to Ice's window, and tapped on the glass, "Hey, snowball," he said, hovering outside the window.

Ice walked up to the window, and opened it, "What do you want? Get outta here. I don't need you messing me up again."

"Hm. Oh well. I guess you don't have a backbone. Just like the rest of your punk ass family," he said, growing a smirk.

Ice was offended, "Shut your face! And don't talk about my family!"

Electron laughed, "Sorry, I just don't think you have it in you anymore to do anything about it."

Ice took it to heart, and jumped out of the window, and stayed motionless in midair for a moment before looking down, "Oh damn." He fell to the ground, and the mob of ponies spotted him. He got up, and started to run, "DAMMMIT!"

"You're welcome!"

Ice, once again, had to run from the mob. He ran, and ran, and ran from the screaming group of ponies who had it in for him. After about a half hour of runnig, jumping, and evading, Ice had finally avoided the mob, via an alleyway in the residential area. The mob ran past, and no one saw him where he was hiding, "Oh man. I'm stuck here....welp, that's not a problem because...."

Patting himself down, he started to worry, "My key...where's the key to my...." it hit him, that he had left the key to his apartment, IN his room, "It's still at my place....oh, and they're probably looking for me there now. I can't go back to my house, and I don't dare step back out there and run the risk of getting mobbed again...."

He let out a sad sigh, "Maybe I came down too harsh on the little filly. Even though she did threaten the secrecy of my clan, my clan wouldn't have wanted me to get mad at her, or yell at her. They'd want me to forgive her. I never should have talked to her that way, and now I'm here stuck in this alley with nowhere else to go." He started to cry a little, "It's so sad. Poor Diamond Tiara. She's going through all of this just to impress her father. The major thing she needed was friend. Someone who she didn't have to worry about impressing, someone whom she could speak with freely, and express herself. But I had to cut it off. I was so wrapped up in my anger that I didn't stop to think about how she'd feel. Now I'm not even sure she'd talk to me again. If I saw her again, I'd apologize immediately."

He st down and started to weep, "I guess this is what I deserve for treating Rarity the way I did. Now I know what it feels like to be treated differently by others. In this case, being swarmed by ponies who're pissed off at me."

Ice was feeling sad, guilty, and depressed all at once. His life had essentially become an emotional roller coaster without a "stop" button. From dealing with Rarity all this time, to Diamond Tiara, to all his other issues while being in this city, he felt as though his problems wouldn't stop unless he did something about it, "That's it. I'm done. Everypony whom I come in contact with, I make their lives worse. I can't do this anymore."

He sat under a box, where no one could see him at all, "Nothing is gonna make me move from this spot until.....I don't even know anymore....."

-snip-

"Well, that's easy. it's..." Sunset Shimmer's sure smile faltered slightly when she realized she didn't actually now. It should've been pretty late by now, according to her pretty accurate sense of time. But, that was impossible, because it still looked midday from what little she could see out the window. Which meant either her sense of timing had been thrown off by her trip through the portal, which was highly unlikely, or...

Her heart grew cold, and she looked up at Celestia with grim realization.

"Celestia, you don't mean-"

"I don't know," Celestia interrupted. Her voice was short and terse, which scared Sunset Shimmer even more, but she re-gained her relaxed tone relatively quickly. Now was not the time for anger...or panic.

"I don't know," she repeated. "...I need to go check on something. Make sure to wait for me, i'll be back shortly."

"Celestia-"

"Sunset Shimmer. Everything's fine." She interrupted Sunset Shimmer again, but this time she started with a soft voice and finished with a peaceful smile that temporarily set Sunset Shimmer's heart at ease, despite her feelings. There were many.

Sunset Shimmer wanted to object, but she didn't; she simply stepped back, giving Celestia a wide berth for what she was about to do. Celestia nodded simply in return, before firing up her horn. Golden energy crackled out of its tip, before it suddenly shifted. Without hesitation or warning, and a groan of what sounded like pain coming from Celestia, the magic started to seemingly corrupt itself, and become an ugly, evil black mass from bottom to top as it swirled about her form. Small spikes grew out of it, and it seemed to actively devour the light around it, as if it was alive. And evil. And waiting.

After about a minute of Celestia's intense concentration, the darkness seemed to resonate with something in the air, and inky blackness began to spill out of the floor as well, seemingly from no source at all. It coalesced, until it formed a pool just big enough for a pony of Celestia's size to step through, then it simply stopped growing, and sat there. Waiting.

Sunset Shimmer stood by, watching the scene in an almost abject horror. As it finished, she looked up quickly and pointedly at Celestia; there were tears in her eyes as they practically begged her to re-consider.

"...I'll be back." Celestia smiled once again, but she couldn't keep her gaze straight with Sunset Shimmer. So, she decided to focus through the task at hand. She slowly stepped into the portal, and almost immediately, her body started sinking. It was only the calm expression on her face that kept Sunset Shimmer from jumping in and going with her. As it was, she still waited patiently, until the last visible part of Celestia. her golden crown, vanished into the inky ether. Then, the portal itself vanished, leaving Sunset Shimmer alone. Panicked, nervous, but worst of all... alone.

Truth be told, bizarre phenomena seemed to happen in Equestria once every month. For Trixie, it probably happened every week or so. From parasprites, to Ursa's, to Tirek himself, every day was an exciting adventure just to see if she would last through it. So far, luck had seemed to be on her side, although she thought it had a pretty sick sense of humor in how it went about it. Why couldn't it ever be on her side?

"You're right, the universe doesn't seem to be on our side." She pulled herself off of the bench, landing on the tiling with little more than a soft clopping sound. "But, maybe we can change that for at least one of us. Follow me." She began walking, moving away from the bench and the front desk to her right as she took the shortest route out of the hospital.

@Star Saber

"Apparently? You almost died. If we hadn't saved you..." Anette shook her head, she didn't want to think about that possibility. She had had enough of "it" for a lifetime.

"Look," she said in a moment of seriousness, looking at him softly. "I don't think you need to hear this, but the ponies in Bangcolt are dangerous. If you absolutely have to fight them... make sure you go prepared. Otherwise, you'll get hurt. And I don't want to see that happen to you. Or anypony." She smiled once again, perfectly calmly, before she tilted her head to the side quizzically. Once again, it seemed Glory was talking to her. She listened for a few moments before she turned back to Calibur, an embarrassed expression on her face.

"Uh... I totally forgot. Do you happen to know where the muffin shop is?"

--------

Nightingale had finally come to her destination. She landed on the roof of the building, not even clattering on the tiling as she walked. But, it was just for show. She pulled herself through the air once again as soon as dropped, flying slowly over the top of the building. Then when she reached its end, she peered over to watch through the windows. She smiled brilliantly at what she saw.

In the back room, there didn't seem to be much of value to take; just some drawers and an odd belt that the owner had left around. But, sitting in the machine on the wall, there was a small, winking blue gem that sat nestled between it's confines, glowing with a soft light. And it was this particular gem that Nightingale was after; it almost sent her heart racing when she stared at it.

"So, let's get this open, shall we?" She smirked, and pulled out one of her feather sliders, which were sharp enough to challenge steel and come out well. Working slowly now, she began to cut...

With that, Axton got up, and started to walk out, leaving Sunset.

If he accepts Applejack's offer than their would go the oppurtunity of performing at Vinyl's and Octavia's but Vinyl and Octavia couldn't offer housing. Then he remembered, why does he need to stay with anyone? He has tons of bits that could not only buy him a house but an extremly nice one. The only thing a nice house wouldn't have was company and that's something he longed for so it wasn't in his best interest to buy somewhere to live alone than live with someone else, especially someone else he shared common ground with.

He finally finished contemplating his options and spoke, "I think I can do that," he returned a smile, "And thanks, it means a lot." He truly meant it. She'd received an anonymous tip that supernatural activity was occurring around Bangcolt. Rumours of soul-eaters were emerging, and some strange, unfamiliar faces were showing up around the local arena.

Of course she had to don her gear and investigate, being one of Canterlot's top supernatural creature hunters. However, upon hearing Lyra was around, of course she made a point to visit, and they even made an appointment to visit the third in the trio of best friends; Minuette.

Bonbon had promised to be a better friend ontop of her investigating, and this would be a good start. After all, only these two knew her true identity.

As Ice was still hiding in the alley, Electron found him, and flew into the alley.  It was then a standoff between Electron....and a box. Silly, it was, he walked towards the end of the alley, and tried to lift the box off of Ice's body, and every time he tried, Ice would pull it back down, going back and forth until Electron kicked the box off of his head, "Aw, snowball...why so blue? HAha!"

Ice turned away from him, crying still, "Go ahead....give my position away again. I don't even care anymore...."

Electron smirked, "Ha! I love this. You make a great dummy to cause pain for."

"...Why?"

Electron's face turned cold, "'Why?' Oh, I'll tell you why.....for years you've always been the good guy, the hero, the apex pone, the cream of the crop. While I'm back here, not even trying to get on your level, yet your life has always been so pitch perfect." He sighed, "15 years....15 goddamn years. 15 long, agonizing years you've been so succesful and happy, and perfect, while I'm back here with nothing left to stand on but a few brain cells."

"So you really wanna know why?" he asked calmly, "I've been wanting to see you suffer, because you've gotten too comfortable with your life and the way it is. So tell me, how does it feel to be the loser? The pony who gets chased after mobs because he's hated by everyone in town?" he then got right in Ice's face, "How does it feel to know that everything around you, your reputation, your relationships, and your life as a whole, is falling apart?"

Ice was conflicted, and didn't know how to handle this. He suddenly bursted into tears. Crying loudly, and turning away. Electron laughed, and started to walk off, "I rest my case. You're nothing but a big, dumb, crybaby. You never had any idea how the real world works, and now you pay the price."

Suddenly, Electron's hooves were frozen to the groun by Ice who had tears running down his face, "You wanna know how I feel? -sniff- My life isn't perfect! Ok, I've worked hard to get to where I am today. All my life, I've gone through sh*t you would't even know how to handle. My dad left me when I was born, and divorced my mom. Do you know what it's like to not have a father?! Then, further down the road, I end up an outcast in school because of how smart I was. Nobody gives a buck about how much you know anymore, just popularity bullsh*t. Then I have all these -sniff- adventures with my friends, and I almost end up dying more times than I can count. As well as just recently, failing to accomplish my relationship with the mare I love, as well as making a new friend, and losing her not more than a day later. And on top of all that, my clan's secret location has been revealed to the public, so now, I have to hide here to avoid being mauled, and can't even go back to my apartment! So you think you go it rough?"

Electron broke free from the ice, and started to hover, "As a matter of fact, I don't think I have it rough, nor do I care about ho rough your life has been. You know why? Because my life is finally better than yours. I'm not dealing with any of that crap, and I'm perfectly happy everyday! You see why I love screwing with you? Because deep down, you're a broken stallion. You just never thought the day would come that I, Electron Wave Storm, would be better than you Icesius Snowfort Blizzard. How sad. You thought you would always have the heroic life and be at the top. Well guess what, you're no longer the hero. You're no longer a somebody. You're a nobody who's at the bottom, and with that, my work here is done. See ya later ya zero. Meanwhile, I'll be living out your dream, and you can stay here, crying like the baby you are in a dirty alley with no one to care about you. See ya! HAHA!" he said, flying away.

Ice was now alone once again. He started to think about what Electron had said, and started to cry even more, "I am a nobody....I'm nothing. Now EWS has said he's better than me. I'm just sitting here alone. Hiding. This is the most embarrassing thing in my life.....I'm cold, alone, and have no way to get back to my room...I'm stuck here.....Hated....."

He laid down under his box, holding his knees with his forelegs, "Celestia please take me........"

Bangcolt was obviously becoming a home for those who had a knack for obtaining grievous bodily injuries. If no one had known that now, then the point would be driven home by the critical condition that Lorec and Tyra had arrived in at the infirmary, via the med-team retrieval unit that had been sent out to recover them.

Getting to work immediately as per standard procedure that had been established, Tyra was immediately placed upon a fresh bed within the infirmary, her axe harness and helmet removed and placed to the side on a table neatly so that the doctors would not be impaired in any way, shape, fashion, or form as they prepared to use their healing arts on Tyra.

A separate medical team had to make special accommodations for Lorec, as his massive girth would not allow for him to lay on a normal sized bed for ponies. So in order to remedy this, two separate beds were pushed together and Lorec, with a great struggle from the med team, was lifted onto this makeshift bed. While his legs were dangling off of it somewhat, the bed would have to make due. His bed had been placed right beside Tyra's. Not intentionally, but to conserve space. Was it coincidence, or fate? Either way.... One being, quite a distance away in an unknown location, found this to be quite favorable, and would cast his overwhelming spark into the raging fires soon enough. But until then, the medical staff would do its job, oblivious to the fact that a mighty power was looking to use its influence to communicate with those he deemed fit to make himself known to.

Kazas had continued the life energy transfer for Vera, until he could see that her body was starting to mend some of its wounds, courtesy of Kazas's life energy that he had bequeathed to her.

Leaning close to her face as to check her breathing, a great weight was lifted from his shoulders when he confirmed that she had stabilized. While not an exact expert in the hypocratic field, Kazas most certainly was no slouch in his basic knowledge. However, this was all he could do for her. The rest, would be left up to whatever staff they could muster, as many unicorns skilled in white magic came towards them.

Upon Lorec and Tyra's arrival, Kazas was hesitant to leave Vera, but was reassured by the astounded medical team who had witnessed his act that they would monitor her condition and act to any rapid changes accordingly.

Leaving her in their care, Kazas would then meet with Sifana, Alrahm, Vorrin, and Syuren, who had arrived shortly before the others. Sifana was crying, and a nervous wreck upon seeing her father and her friend's condition. Syuren was attempting to comfort her and was holding her back from interfering with the medical team. Vorrin and Alrahm were quite nervous, and in their silence, held dear to hope that their compatriot would indeed pull through this.

" we're losing him!?!? How? We've stopped the bleeding and his bones are being mended as we speak, along with the healing arts repairing the muscle tearing! So someone tell me, what's going on?!?!?"

Commotion from Lorec's bedside, broadcast from the senior specialist in charge of his caretaking. None of them knew exactly what was wrong. And how could they, when the ailement was also coming from the soul?

Hearing this, Sifana would go into a panic and rush frantically to her father's side, pushing through the med team with formidable strength that was unbecoming of a girl her age and even plowing past Syuren to do so. Crying out to her father as she grasped his hand, she was shedding tears quite profusely.

" father...!!!! Do-don't leave m-me-eee! "

She sobbed as she spoke, and braced her head against her father's large forearm, crying into it. The pony staff attempted to remove Sifana from him, but failed miserably due to her incredible strength. Even if not by blood, one could tell that she was Lorec's child, through and through.

Seeing the commotion and fear, Kazas would act quickly, pushing a medic aside without thinking. As with Vera, he would lay his claw against Lorec's chest, feeling the giant's heartbeat. The white aura appearing around him yet again, Kazas would begin to transfer life energy to Lorec as well, revitalizing his soul and giving it the push needed to pull through. While the healing arts were in fact repairing his body, Lorec's soul had used much of his life energy to draw upon the power of Viruden. With the soul weakened, the body would eventually cease to function. This is what Kazas sought to remedy.

After a while of this, Kazas would stop the transfer when Lorec had become stable. Standing next to Sifana, Kazas leaned toward her and put a claw on her head gently, scratching it. She looked up at Kazas only to be greeted with the ashen griffon's signature warm smile.

" uncle Kaz....?"

" Sifana, you needn't worry. Lorec will indeed survive this. You are the daughter of a hero, Sifana. Believe in him and you needn't worry. There is indeed a reason he is called ' Lorec the unkillable'."

He said, comforting the small taurette. Smiling at Kazas, she looked up at him, unable to speak, but with beautiful blue eyes that suggested a very thankful Mentality. She hugged Kazas, and after a moment, let go.

The med team was astounded by what had transpired. Checking on Lorec after all necessary healing arts had been performed, the diagnosis was drawn.

A full recovery was imminent!

The same had been announced for Tyra as well, as the healing arts would definitely speed up the recovery time rate. After a long, grueling battle, both would be changed warriors from this, and for the better.

As Kazas was returning to Vera's general area, Alrahm spoke with Vorrin.

" ' Tis a very interesting pairing of specimens... Do you agree Vorrin?"

Vorrin simply shrugged, not actually caring about what Alrahm had to say as he knew what would be coming if he answered;

A long, unending rant.

Alrahm, obviously annoyed, decided not to speak further on the matter, and simply asked Vorrin another question.

" So Vorrin, what are you going to do?"

" I'm staying with the commander."

" and may I inquire into as of why?"

" because.... The commander's apparent love interest was attacked. With him performing a life energy transfer twice, he may not be able to defend himself or her when and if the assailant returns. And besides..... I want answers."

" Answers beg questions. What information do you wish to obtain from the young mare?"

" I want to know who is hunting her, and why."

" oh?"

" she is more trouble than she's letting on."

" hmmmmmm...... Well, do as you seem fit. I shall be heading home to entertain family."

" don't fall down the stairs."

"..... You can be quite a cheeky one, Vorrin. Nevertheless, I wish you well in your endeavors.... Stay safe. Syuren and Sifana may want to stay here with yourself. At least I can rest easy knowing that Kazas is in exceptional hooves."

"...... Did you just call Ren exceptional?"

With a grizzled laugh, the old pony Mage turned to exit out of the infirmary, and began to head home. Vorrin would take a seat in the infirmary area, watch over Kazas and the others.

The medical team would soon disperse from around Vera as they drew the conclusion that she would in fact pull through. It was indeterminate of how much rest she would need, but one thing was for certain: Kazas was NOT leaving her side.

Feeling drained from the two transfers, Kazas had pulled up a chair near Vera's bed and began to watch over her, a claw gently grasping her hoof. Eventually falling asleep, he rested his head on the edge of Vera's bed, and proceeded to fall asleep, praying under his breath, even in his dreams, for his love.

Sifana, after the med team had dispersed from Lorec, had actually crawled into his hospital bed and propped her head up onto Lorec's chest. His steady heartbeat was quite comforting to her, and seeing Tyra alright made her quite jubilant. Even still, the raw emotion of events had gotten to her, and even she fell victim to the need of some shut eye.

Syuren, having gone to the bathroom, was most unfortunately out of luck, as when he had gone to use the lavatories, he had neglected to check for toilet paper in his stall. In vain, he yelled out.

" HEYYYY!!! SOMEONE PASS ME SOME S*** WIPES! HELLO?!?!? AW HELL NAW, THIS AIN'T COOL!"

( near fluttershy's burning house)

[uNKNOWN]

From almost seemingly out of nowhere, a presence was heading towards Fluttershy's refuge. Twas in fact a pony, slowly strolling along as if they hadn't a care in the world. This pony appeared to be a dusty traveller, wearing a long, brown and tattered cloak that covered his entire body, even with a hood that somewhat masked his face. Interestingly enough, this pony had a strange object upon his backside. It was seemingly, a large rod that gave support to a sphere-like object on the end. However, no pony had any way of telling what exactly it was, as it was covered in what appeared to be ancient and yellowing gauze. From this icon, a thick length, made of several layers of said gauze, acted as a strap that wrapped around the pony's shoulder, torso, and back, keeping the rod in place as if it were a backpack. From under the hood, a horn was poking out. Obviously, this was a unicorn. While this seemed like a rudimentary, run-of-the-mill adventurer.... The phenomena happening around him screamed otherwise.

Walking towards the torched abode, any who could see the unicorn would notice very eerie, white, glowing orbs all around him, floating with him as he walked. They left trails as they traveled in the air of luminescent light that eventually faded away about two feet behind each orb. Roughly the size of a hoof, these orbs only added to this stranger's uncanniness.

They were numerous, and somewhat bright, almost as if acting as lanterns to light his way.

As the pony slowly walked toward what was a shelter for animals, the unicorn spoke. It was obviously a male, given the voice. One that seemed calm, collected, and disturbingly.... Detached. Especially since a collapsed Fluttershy was obviously in his view.

Stepping in closer, he simply spoke to himself.

" so.... This is the source...."

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.
