So the new Mad Max movie (Fury road) comes out pretty soon, so I decided to watch all 3 current Mad Max films to catch up on the lore and story (I think it's a sequel, but I could be wrong and might be a reboot) or any references possibly thrown in for people that watched the older films.

 

and I was pretty disappointed. From what I've seen in the trailer for the new one, that's what I imagined when people described the old ones to me, but I really couldn't see them as set in a 'post apocalyptic' world when there's clearly a large community of non-crazy people in a normal Australian town. The new one still holds the number 1 spot for the film i'm most excited film this year, given that it's a completely new cast, new director, and has been 30 or so years since the last one.

 

Have you seen the old ones / planning to see the new one? It's all opinions guys, but I honestly think the first 3 movies make up one of the worst movie series in history, and i'm not basing this off of the kind of person Mel Gibson is, believe me.

I love the original trilogy. First one wasn't post-apocalyptic in the normal sense. It was also very low-budget.

 

The new one is essentially a hyped up remake of Road Warrior except with a giant sandstorm and CGI. A giant sandstorm of CGI.

 

I'll probably see it though because I am a fan but I'm not sure if I'll like it.

Well I enjoyed the series, though admittedly I only really liked number two or road warrior. I have high expectations for the Fury road as it looks quite good. I think it will likely be the best one though it's not fair comparing it to the old ones. They didn't exactly have the same tools so since they do now I think fury road will be awesome.

So I'll definitely be watching it especially for the V8 interceptor.
