It is not definitive by any means, but there have been studies that show that people who swear, even on occasion, tend to have a better grasp of said language and have a slightly higher intelligence than normal.

Of course, swearing in abundance could be off-putting to people, so it's better to be used somewhat sparingly when the opportunity presents itself. Swearing isn't bad, though everything have its right time and place.

I don't really care if someone choose to swear, if anything, it makes it easier to connect in some ways because swearing is normal and part of daily life.

Here's an example: You're done taking a shower and accidentally manage to kick into those pesky toe-seeking edges of a chair or a table. How do you react?

Our species expresses itself through a billion means and ways. Swearing is one of them, especially on expressing how one may feel in said moment.

Just to put in my two bits, I don't really swear at all. I like to use less intense words so the swearing doesn't lose its gravity, so if I do end up swearing, you know it's an actual serious issue. Like just now when I found out my professor told us about an exam.. the night before. So I missed it. And I'm obviously pissed about it.

It's also a matter of manners, I don't very much enjoy being around people who swear profusely because regardless of their actions, they just come off as aggressive and angry; not the type of person I want to be around. 

This of course doesn't include situations where swearing is used humorously, or if we're in a workplace setting or something. Cause my goodness have I wanted to scream out customers at my jobs sometimes

I usually adapt heavily to the person I am communicating with and that way I kind of mold my language to fit the subject in question like I am sure many others do. Or in layman's terms swear words are used as commas among my army buddies and other more "coarse" friends out of public but in general I aim to use very polite and soft language so that people I am not super familiar with don't feel uncomfortable thanks to my colorful tongue! 

So all in all I don't think it's bad at all but I prefer to only let it loose with those who I know will be OK with my exceedingly creative ways to put my thought into words.
