movies/tv Opinions on Disney Channel's Live action shows?

The Disney Channel has become synonymous with live action kids shows and manufactured pop music. What are your personal opinions on Disney Channel's live-action programming? Back in the Zoog era, Disney aired stuff like So Weird, In a Heartbeat, The Famous Jet Jackson, Even Stevens, and Lizzie McGuire. Most of these were void of laugh tracks, and several of them were fairly serious dramas. Hell, I'm supprised how funny Even Stevens is today. So I have no problem with the older Zoog Disney shows. Disney sitcoms today? I usually ignore them. It's not their horrible, it's that they're absolutely contempt with doing nothing new. Here's the formula for a Disney sitcom

1. A teenage girl, or a group of teens who live in a "wacky family" or have some weird secret

2. Lame, unfunny humor poorly disguised by an obnoxious laugh track

3. A cute, good looking actress with a one-dimensional teenie bopper personality designed to sell pop music

4. Wacky parents and obnoxious younger siblings

5. Cheap production values and ultra bright lighting

6. Squeaky clean innocence because it's Disney goddamn it (Even though Disney is more than capable of being edgy)

7. Ridiculous, unrealistic plots

That's pretty much the basis for any modern Disney kidcom. I like Disney but there's a reason I don't watch their flagship channel. I don't mind them doing sitcoms, if it sells, it sells, but does EVERY show on the network have to be a lame sitcom? Would it kill Disney to do something like Community or Parks & Recreation? Or an ACTUAL Teen Drama like Buffy or Awkward. (BTW, Yes, I know Disney Channel can't get too edgy, but would it  kill them to have a block of programming STRICTLY for their older 12-14 year old viewers?). So that's my opinion, what's yours?

Like Nickelodeon, it's the same assembly line crap.

And like Nickelodeon they used to be good(That's So Raven, Even Stevens, to name a few of my favs.)

I've only seen like 2 episodes of one show and I disliked what I saw. The plot is bland and the characters aren't that great. I'm not a fan of sitcoms in general, so naturally I dislike the live action shows Disney produces.

I don't really know too much about it but my nephew usually watches it when he is at my place, sometimes I watch with him these Disney series but I don't know, these live-action sitcoms not that bad but there was a school drama or what was that, where a girl wanted to be a singer(how original) but his father didn't let her. Now, that was the point where I wanted to watch Duck TV insted.

Disney live action shows can be repetitive and boring, they can so formulaic and clichéd, that the show is predictable, you can see obvious jokes incoming and plot structure, which deters me from watching. Disney live action shows, must be dictated a file case, and the writers have to stick to the contents of the paperwork, for they had the same premise, you have the smart kid, the dumb kid, the weird best friend, odd parents and the rest of the cast, sometimes they involve a secret, such a Hannah Montana, Dog with a Blog and Wizards of Waverly Place, or take place in the typical high school setting, more often than not, the main characters are female, and try to get the attention of some generic good looking male athlete or musician, plus have some zany shenanigans for a cheap laugh, to canned laughter. The script for each of these shows are butchered, the humour is literally paper thin, plus they often break the rule of show don't tell, since they are not filming in front of a live studio audience, they can get off the hook for lazy jokes, just insert canned laughter, but the worst part is the ethic stereotypes, the worst was the Suite Life on Deck, as they sailed to foreign countries, with someone speaking with a poor accent, and seems to enunciate English too well, dress in ethnic clothing and preparing some ethic food, that is not native to the land, it seems like they are exploited for cheap laughs, as if to say look at the foreigners, let us laugh at their lot in life, as a person who has travelled the world as a civilian and serviceman, it makes you respect your blessings, and wish the locals had something better. Overall, Disney sitcoms are are inflexible to popular culture, Disney would keep to the formula, at the prise of quality and integrity, the tropes and trends form the structure of Disney sitcoms, that someday that shoddy lattice will someday be too dilapidated to ignore.

Personally, I don't much care for them. They just seem so cliché and repetitive that it drives me nuts >.<

However, not all of them are like that. I remember loving Zack and Cody and Good Luck Charlie and still enjoy them today :)

Ehh I've never really liked any of Disney's live action shows, even the "old" ones which were past my generation anyway (but I will say some of them were more enjoyable than the current line-up) I grew up on Disney Afternoon, the channel's big cartoon block in the 90s - now that was quality TV! :P Even back then there were very few live action shows I watched, the main one that comes to mind that I really LOVED was "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" but that was Nickelodeon, not Disney...and don't even get me started on Nick's current line of live action tween shows, I can't even.  :eww:

Basically crap now, back then Disney had some good live action shows like That's So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, and others, but now I don't even watch Disney Channel anymore unless it's for Phineas and Ferb.
