Meh, however you choose.  You could quickly make up a story about what they've done since the town began, and continue form there, or have them come in separately.  Walking into town would be hard, as it's on an island.

Alright my biggest problem is time I don't know how long it's been since the colonist arrive and a date I have to far found was more than 2 weeks after landing, I'd make a better excuse for me not being mentioned if I had a current time after arrival after than I'm sure I'll have something whipped up
