Buck Testa 5,505 June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 So a thought struck me just now. Its assumed that that lightning bolt that struck the bridge and sent Arimaspi falling to his death was just a freak accident from natural causes. However this is a world of magic and mystery, where ponies can kick up some lighting with barely any effort. It makes me wonder then, Was that lightning natural, or a planned attack? What was Arimaspi doing there anyway? In greek mythology, Arimaspians were a tribe of cyclops that were at war with griffons over gold, and it seems to fit with this scene. However he looked like a monster on a mission, he looked like he was sent there to snag that specific treasure and get out of there. What if the one who sent him never intended for him to come back though? What if the whole point was not to have the treasure as Arimaspi may of believed, but to destroy the Griffon empire? What if A certain Malevolent dark magic wielding individual arranged for that "accident" to happen, removing both Arimaspi and the treasure from the board, furthering his slow methodological plans. tis only head canon, but boy do I like it. 1 http://www.fimfiction.net/user/Billy%20G%20Gruff http://billyggruff.deviantart.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPVpSXbUpDYTcaFHTPiPjYA

Jammo 986 June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Grogar killed him for stealing his image. He has kids (hehe goat) to feed and can't afford people stealing is trademarked style.

The Awesome One 1,315 June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 That lightning bolt hit the bridge at a very convenient time so while I don't accept your headcanon, I'd say it seems pretty possible.
colt .45 259 June 12, 2015 Share June 12, 2015 Going all the way back to "Griffon the Brushoff" for this one. In the beginning Pinkie was looking for Rainbow Dash to prank Spike by scaring him with thunder and lightning. Dash made this happen by jumping up and down on a storm cloud. We know that pegasi can walk on, push, pull, and otherwise manipulate clouds. Later, when Dash and Gilda are racing, we see that Gilda can stand on clouds. This leads me to believe that griffons have similar weather manipulation skills as pegasi. That bolt was an aimed attack at Arimaspi. To real question is why didn't the lightning ground to the tall thing holding a piece of metal.
Jangocoolguy 433 June 13, 2015 Share June 13, 2015 "I'll see you in Dungeon Boss HEEEEELLLLLLL!!!!"No that I got that off my chest*ahem*Chances are it was just a random lightning bolt, though in this case done for effect in the flashback. Not every bad thing is the work of an invisible hoof, ya know. In fact, it's too late for that now. At this point it would just be one big pile of retconning and plot holes! "It's like I found a piece of myself I didn't even know was missing!" How do you think WE feel?!

Not every bad thing is the work of an invisible hoof, ya know. In fact, it's too late for that now. At this point it would just be one big pile of retconning and plot holes! but its soo much more entertaining if it IS an invisible hoof (why do you think those illuminati nuts love it so much XD). Like I said its head canon, but I like it. Going all the way back to "Griffon the Brushoff" for this one. To real question is why didn't the lightning ground to the tall thing holding a piece of metal. the only reason I could think of is that is where whomever it was was aiming, be it Griffon or Grogar. Keep in mind though, Rarity proved that horned beings can manipulate the clouds too in Magical Mystery Cure. http://www.fimfiction.net/user/Billy%20G%20Gruff http://billyggruff.deviantart.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPVpSXbUpDYTcaFHTPiPjYA
