Slice of life with Cadance and Blueblood?

Am I the only one who wants such an episode? Now, granted, neither character make my favorite pony list, but for some odd reason, I want to see these two just being ponies as Sunbutt's niece and nephew; getting on each other's nerves, getting on Sunbutt's nerves, getting on the fan's nerves. For being two ponies adopted by Sunbutt, they really haven't had literally ANY imteractiom, thus far.

I read the title and thought 'I don't get it' but reading the post actually makes me want his episode soooo bad. :P It could be like a really funny family hangout episode and I think that Celestia would be the funniest of the bunch. She always seems so...standard most of the time and it this could turn that aspect of her on its nose. Especially with Blueblood, we never saw any interaction between him and Celestia at the Gala.

I'm not sure if I get what you didn't get about the title.....but glad you're on board with the idea. I'd imagine such a situation humorous, also. Hopefully with lots of grudge bearing, fake smiles, tension, and inner monolouging with Cadance and Blueblood, like siblings who are asked to play nice together, but just wanna jump on each other, when the other gets on their last nerve.

Oh man, put them together at a dinner party with their adoptive Aunts Sunbutt and Luna, and other diplomats or something, and just watch the chaos ensue.

Just a minor nitpick - Going by Word of Faust, Blueblood isn't adopted, he's an actual blood relative.

Quote from Lauren Faust about Prince Blueblood (the quote is from before the S1 finale, which is why she says he's unnamed in the show).

Edit: Explaining "52 times removed" in case anyone doesn't know - That basically means how many generations apart. So he's their great-great-great-great (etc) nephew with about 51 "greats".

This has promise, for exactly the reasons you've listed.

Would it be mostly a flashback or an actual episode happening in the present?

Also, would it take place in the Crystal Empire or in Canterlot?

Thats not a bad idea actually. They never interact all together like regular family members so seeing that would be a nice change and good development for Celestia and even luna because lets see who cracks first from the fighting! Blue blood is an douche and with Cadance finally putting her hoof down on the BS she will be verbally beating him up!

I think it has more ptential being in the present, and in Canterlot, since oddly, the Crystal Empure has been in the spotlight much more than Canterlot has.

I don't think we're going to see Blueblood and if we do, it won't be in an important. He was really just part of the plot at the Gala to make Rarity's time suck along with the other ponies. But that kind of episode would be cool.

but Gilda reappeared in an episode that made her important and gave her a crucial role to play. Who's to ay that the staff can't do the same with Blueblood?

*creates story ideas*

As far as Cadence, yes I'd love to see her more on the show.

Blueblood, he seems like he was a one note jackass to me and chances are sunbutt sent him off to some correctional facility for little, egotistical, arrogant, pricks. (watch it be canon, calling it.)

As for them together, it'd be interesting to say the least, especially since I doubt they are even related in any sort of way. CI say that because I don't recall Blueblood being at Like Twilight's Coronation or Cadence and Shining Armor's wedding but I could be mistaken.

I don't want to see him, in particular, again but if that's what it takes to get more Cadence screen time, so be it.

staff might've abandoned that idea when Faust left, though

just like her saying Cadance and Twilight were never meant to be alicorns, but yet look what happened

I'm not saying they won't and as I said, that would be pretty cool is they did but in Gilda's episode, she was a crucial character and fans remember her vividly as a cruel character. The same goes for Trixie and they both got their returning episodes but Blueblood was hardly a character. He was more of a plot element and didn't have much of a personality. He was also more of an annoyance than a villain, twhich is what made Trixie and Gilda so memorable and more important.

couldn't the lack of personality with Blueblood be said the same of S1 Steven Magnet? But didn't Steven show up a ah gain, later, t get some character development under his belt the second time around?

Cadence: "You invited Blueblood?"

Celestia: "Be nice now. He's had a rough time and could use a little family support."

Shining Armor: "If he makes a crack about my kid sister again, he'll get a right hoof to his royal kisser!"

Luna: "When we spoke to Rarity last, she had many things to say about young Blueblood. Sister, later could you tell us what a few of the words she used mean? We have still not caught up on modern derogatory phraseology.

Sadly, what Faust intended and said for things really has no bearing anymore since she left the show. If its not in show, what faust said about things isn't hard canon anymore :(

Eh, I don't see a reason for them to change this, especially considering they hardly use Blueblood.

Steven was brought back because he was a fan favorite in an episode dedicated almost entirely to fan favorite characters, and he was also one that Larson originally wanted to bring back when he was writing Magical Mystery Cure. There's not much fan support for Blueblood, and I don't think any of the writers are that interested about doing more with him either.

Still wish the writers would touch on this. Mane 6 are fine and all, but they could flesh out their families, and interaction with them. Especially now that Twi is related to Blueblood and Sunbutt, by marriage an adoption, now, like she is with Cadance.

They only bring in family members if they actually have ideas that use them. If they don't have something that involves their family, then they aren't going to go out of their way and try come up with something just to flesh out the family members.
