MLP Forums needed this. A place to talk about PAC-MAN. The only rule here is that you can post anything as long as it doesn't violate the rules of MLP Forums and if it has PAC-MAN in it at all. I don't care if you post pizza PAC-MAN, the PAC-MAN on the PAC-MAN 2600 game cartridge, PAC-LAND PAC-MAN, or Ghostly Adventures PAC-MAN. Post anything as long as it's PAC-MAN. PAC-MAN PAC-MAN PAC-MAN. This is probably going to get locked because OP has too many caps, though I'm sure Namco said PAC-MAN is in all caps.

No, that's alright! It is the official name after all.

I also moved this to Media Discussion as this has to do with a video game. :)

PAC-MAN is probably my favorite arcade game to be honest. Ghostly Adventures isn't a bad game either. The designs are ugly and the writing is downright stupid but the gameplay itself is pretty solid. PAC-MAN World is probably my favorite in the series.

PAC-MAN's a pretty cool guy. Eh eats pellets and doesn't afraid of no ghost. :derp:

But yeah, PAC-MAN is some fun stuff sometimes. He's very fun in Smash Bros as well. :)

@Radiance64 He's my flipping main, along with Kirby. PAC-MAN's only weakness is his grab, because it's so punishable. It's easy to grab him while grabbing. Though, once you learn to use it, it's OK. One of my worst grabs is Kirby's. Freaking no range at all.

Now were talking!  I've been a PAC-MAN fan since I was a youngin' heh.  And that's going back quite a ways.  ^_^  I got hooked on both the Atari 2600 (which looked like crap but was still fun to play) and the arcade versions back in the early 80s.  Ms. Pac-Man may be my favorite game of all time with the four mazes, moving fruit, and so on.  It's also one of the longest lived arcade games.  Almost every other game has come and gone over the years but it's not unusual to see a Ms. Pac-Man console somewhere.  :3

@Wingnut Hey, one question. Back in your day, were you able to imagine realistic graphics in video games like there is today, or was the only thing heard of and thought about pixelated games?

I knew there would be a huge increase in graphic resolution and complexity.  Even an 8 bit system like NES has graphics that still look pretty good decades later.  It's just that, as an 8 bit system, it couldn't process a whole lot of action at once.  Due to that, intense scenes stressed the system and bogged it down.  What has amazed me more than eye candy images is video games increasing power to handle multiple processes at once.

So to answer the question, yes, I could foresee the image quality improving to the degree it has but not in tandem with the lightning quick processes and gameplay modern consoles offer today.  :)
