I was wondering if the ponies had Light-sabers what colors would they have?

 

Ever since I saw this picture I think Twilight should have a purple one:

If the ponies had light-sabers I would say their colors would be:

 

- Twilight: Purple

- Pinkie Pie: Red 

- Fluttershy: Green
- Rainbow Dash: Red 

- Rarity: Blue 

- Applejack: Green

The different colors have different meaings, many Sith for example have red lightsabers for a reason, red representing anger and hate which is one of the main ways they can tap into the dark side so it would likely be the color of choice for villains like King Sombra.  As for the other colors blue and green are the most common colors jedi use and blue lightsabers are usually used by Guardian Jedi who are the ones who tend to see the most amount of combat during times of war.

 

Guardian Jedi tend to use the force to amplify their strength and speed and tend to favor aggressive lightsaber combat forms like Form IV (Ataru) which heavily emphasizes speed and acrobatics (it was the preferred form of Qui Gon Gin and Yoda though Yoda falls more under a Consular Jedi as I will explain soon) or Form V (Shien/Djem So) which heavily emphasizes pure brute force with aggressive strikes and an equally strong defense and was favored (it was the preferred form of Anakin both before and after he became Darth Vader, Luke, and Plo Koon).

 

Green on the other hand represents Jedi Consulars who tend to focus less on brawn and favor less aggressive lightsaber combat forms like Form III (Soresu) which emphasizes stalling and wearing down the opponent until an opening presents itself (it is the preferred lightsaber combat form of Obi Wan Kenobi) or Form VI (Niman) which was is a combination of all previous lightsaber combat forms and was learned by many Consular Jedi because it allowed them to learn the basics of lightsaber combat while being able to devote more time to their study of the force. To put it simply I think of the Jedi Guardians as the "knights" and the the Jedi Consulars as the "mages".

 

So to make a long post short

 

Applejack: Blue

Twilight Sparkle: Green

Rainbow Dash: Blue

Pinkie Pie: Probably both blue and green or blue and green (this is Pinkie Pie we are talking about here)

Rarity: Green

Fluttershy: Green

Do we count EU? There were lightsabers in basically every color (except for maybe black and white), so ponies would have them in their theme colors (pink for Pinkie, purple for Twilight, etc.).

 

If not, the only canon lightsaber colors are blue, red, green and purple. If there were any other in Clone Wars, they are canon too and I'm sorry to forgot them. Anyway, curse you, Disney!

 

And about that video with Star Wars ponies (I'm too lazy to quote), Twilight isn't enough psychopatic, manipulative and awesome to play Sidious. Except for that, it's great.

What about some of the secondary characters or background ponies?

 

I think Princess Luna would have a blue doubled-bladed Light-saber  and  Nightmare Moon would have a red one (duh  ).

I'm not too sure about what color Derpy would have..

 

I think they CMC would each have green ones.

Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy: Green. Jedi that are intellectual, scholarly, or otherwise not as physically inclined typically had green lightsabers.

 

Rainbow Dash, Applejack: Blue. Jedi that were more typically involved with criminal investigation, military action, and directly combating the Dark Side would more often carry blue lightsabers.

 

Pinkie Pie: Pink . . . because she's Pinkie

 

Spike: Either blue or green. Blue because of his personality or green because it better goes with his eyes.

I looked up, "MLP Star Wars Lyra"   

After looking up the meanings of the colors, I have had some thoughts:

 

Twilight  would have green because green light-sabers are used by peace keepers.

 

Discord would have purple because purple ones are used by former Sith.

 

Princess Luna would of first had a blue one because she is a protector then when she was Nightmare Moon a red one then she would now have a purple one (maybe a double bladed one) Because she would feel that she would have to show that she may have been bad but is good again.

 

Shining Armor would have a blue one because of being leader of the royal guard.
