The pony movie was announced shortly after S5 announcement, so, we'll get at least one more season before the end. The weird limits people keep placing on the show are kind of annoying, to be honest. I get people don't want the show to go bad and all that, but everyone being all "That season will suck! Why? It's got 7/8/9 at the end, there's no way it can be good." as if the show getting older alone is enough to make it suck, or the show will somehow automatically degrade in quality, or something. Yeah, I know. Tons of other shows started to suck at some point, but it's not like that's a 100% inevitability with longer shows. It's possible to get 10/15 seasons of something and it still be good. The show ending early, when it still has at least another good season or two in it honestly seems almost as bad a waste as it degrading in quality to me. I just hope that the mane six don't all turn into alicorns; that would be a pretty bad ending in my opinion. Honestly, I hope that MLP keeps going a few more seasons. I don't want season 5 to be the last season. Hopefully Hasbro doesn't break our hearts anytime soon. This is a WIP. Why are you still looking at this? Seriously. You should have looked away by now. Sapphire Lightning 784 August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 One thing to keep in mind too, in this generation of MLP they basically created an entire world that feels like a real place. When FIM ends, Hasbro has a large tapestry to work with for G4.5 or G5. They now know from FIM that high quality/styled animation, good plot lines, believable personalities and good character development help drive their sales. I could easily see G4.5 or G5 (when ever that would come out after G4 ends) being set in our familiar G4-like Equestria, but in a different setting and focusing on completely different and new characters (thus making a completely new toy line for them). I cannot imagine that the execs at Hasbro are blind to this, they saw what worked in Gen4, and even if it is to try to recapture the lightning in a jar of money, I would expect Gen5 to be well made. I don't think people want it to end: I CERTAINLY don't, i want to see more, and there's a TON of stuff that I think has not been properly touched on or addressed in the show. Just trying to be realistic, and I just feel its overly optimistic to believe it'll go on for that long: The ratings have been dropping this season after all, and I've heard that the toy sales have been tapering off as well. Unless the 2017 movie is a SMASH hit, I can see hasbro not wanting to continue FIM and instead choosing to focus on EQG while they get a G5 up and running. On that note, I expect hasbro will wait and see for the movie's response before making that call: so even if there is a S7, I expect a lengthy hiatus between the movie and S7 as starting work on things beyond just the planning stages (rough drafts, ideas, ect) will wait until they get the opening numbers.
