cider float 2,539 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 So what does the LGBT think of the bronies?
mars 4,863 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 Some bronies do belong to the LGBTQA+ community, some LGBTQA+ people probably think bronies are weird, and others may not care/don't know about bronies in general. It depends on the person- you can't really speak for an entire community.
Dsanders 5,749 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 I'm part of the LGBT and I don't give a shit about bronies. Some would be bronies themselves. Others wouldn't. Some would hate them. It depends. They're human like the rest of us. I don't understand the point of this topic. But hey ... freedom of speech so I won't judge.
alpinefroggy 451 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 (edited) Well I guess this question doesn't make any sense to me. Lgbt people are just regular people so if wager that they probably have feelings like heterosexual people. If you mean that bronies and lgbt seem to have similar off norm tendencies (bronies liking something meant for girls and lgbt having non heterosexual sexualities/gender identities) then I guess there could be some sympathy of each other but i still don't understand Edited August 11, 2015 by alpinefroggy
Concerned Bystander 2,904 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 LGBT people are just as likely to be narrow-minded and bigoted as people in any other demographic subset. Of course the converse is also true in that they are just as likely as anyone else to be open-minded and accepting, or to just not care one way or the other. The question itself is no different than if it were to be asked of any other societal subset.
Envy 6,274 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 (edited) LGBT people are not a like-minded entity. So there really isn't any position you could ascribe to them. Although I do know of LGBT people (both in and out of this fandom) that do not take kindly to Bronies talking as if they have to "come out". That's probably the closest you could relate, but it isn't going to describe every or perhaps even the majority of LGBT people. Edited August 11, 2015 by Envy 2 Everything needs more woodwind! KillerKingBakudan 702 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 I think the better question is, do they care that bronies are lumped in the same category as them? No questions asked.
ThatOneComrade 1,091 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 I don't understand what their being part of the LGBT have to do with that but okay. They probably think about Bronies the same way many people do the first time they hear of us: Weirdos. Some won't care, some might join us, and some will hate us. 1 href="/monthly_02_2014/post-8308-0-69609200-1393191794.png">
Grepper 3,193 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 I'm not an LGBT person, but I'd guess they would tend to be more tolerant of defying gender stereotypes because that is what they themselves have done. Like others have said, the LGBT population is not a monolithic hive-mind. They don't have a unified opinion on every subject or anything.
cider float 2,539 August 11, 2015 Author Share August 11, 2015 (edited) I said LGBT as a means to convey all the splintered factions of gender/sex/sexual orientation interest groups and all their separate views on bronies. If one wants to talk about the views of how the transgender views the bronies and not clump gay and lesbian communities into it than you are free to do so. No doubt bronies aren't one of a kind either. Edited August 11, 2015 by cider float
Ribbonfree 2,384 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 As far as I am aware that is a largely irrelevant opinion that would be based on the individual more than it would any form of group identity or thought. Not like bronies are... at all important to the overall LGBT narrative, legally or socially.
Eloquence 2,076 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 Well, speaking on behalf of the LGBT hivemind in response to the brony hivemind... Yeah, there isn't really a good way to answer that. Both groups are immensely diverse, so saying that one whole entire group can have a collective opinion on the other whole entire group is pretty silly. The best I can do is to say that I think there's a lot of crossover between the two groups based on personal experience and that the two groups can probably find some common ground in the pushback against gender norms (LGBT providing the more obvious pushback and bronies providing the pushback of liking something "girly" despite society telling us that liking girly things makes you stupid and shallow). I myself am a member of both groups, and it is because of that that I would never dream about making sweeping generalizations about either group, because I know enough to know that any generalization I try to make will be quite simply wrong -_- 1 My Equestrian Empire Characters Fluttershy - Eloquence - Chamomile - Ginseng - Lovestruck Ask Me Questions! RarityFan01 2,444 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 I"m a brony, so I personally don't have a problem with bronies. Some LGBT people do have a problem, though. Your sexual orientation or gender identity don't matter when it comes to opinions of a fandom. I'm transgender if you're wondering. That is only because that is the direction you think it as. If I made it specific it would be restricting the discussion and if anyone wanted to bring out the topic of a different sex/gender related interest group it would seem like a derailment. 1111 1,284 August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 (edited) While i'm not part of the LGBT theres bronys that are anti-LGBT and LGBT that don't think so kindly of bronys, its just we both have that stigma we're supportive of each other. All I can guess is a moderate amount support or don't think less of the other, there's nothing about ether group that means anything beyond what it simply is. Guest August 11, 2015 Share August 11, 2015 I'm bi, I do not care about bronies either way. However I can admit it can be annoying when bronies attribute their "struggles" to be similar to the struggles of LGBT community members. Honestly though, LGBT is kind of a joke in itself. Just because all of these people share a similar issue doesn't mean they get along or agree on everything. Hell, half the time I see the entire LGBT community constantly at each other's throats. You get gays and lesbians belittling bisexuals by claiming being "half straight" means they aren't part of the community. You get heterosexual hating for no good reason. Transgenders not being accepted, and even debated as to not being a part of the community. Gays hating other gays. Anti gay-pride, pro gay-pride. Etc. Honestly LGBT's biggest enemy is itself.
