Favorite Twilight foil?

So over the past couple of years we've got an increasing amount of characters which act as foils to Twilight Sparkle in much the same way Lightning Dust and Suri Polomare were to Rainbow Dash and Rarity respectively.  Which on is your favorite?

As a foil I would have to say SciTwi. She was really great in Friendship Games and a nice and interesting spin on Twilight's character.

I can't say too much about SciTwi, since I've never seen Friendship Games.

 

I suppose one of the reasons why Starlight is my favourite is that she is a very effective villain. I don't like villain characters in general all that much, but what makes Starlight special is she thinks that her intentions are in the right. She isn't motivated by power, but is motivated by her beliefs, so as such, she thinks that her beliefs would also be the best for everybody. It's a unique motivation that makes Starlight a more interesting character to think about.

Starlight Glimmer for sure. Heck, being able to take away Twilight's cutie mark...jeez...and trapped in a delusion of insanity. But we know she'll get what she deserves in the Finale.

Trixie's boastful trademark is the best! I like characters like that because I see them as a foil to myself.

It's a tie between Trixie and Sunset shimmer. I feel like Trixie still has a lot of potential as a foil and would be great for a slow conversion through bettering herself as a pony and improving her magic. Sunset though has gone through pretty much all the motions... only took 2 movies.

Sunny, she got more character development, she's very interesting, and she's the face of EG basically

Despite how much I like Sunset Shimmer, I chose Moondancer, because her episode was just so fantastic!

Sunset Shimmer which was the best thing that came out of Equestria Girls. She has enough similarities with Twilight to be considered a counterpart of sorts but enough differences to not make her fell like a mere clone or "what if" character. She was also just as powerful if not even more powerful than Twilight even without ascending to alicorn and I love the Sunset Satan transformation. Starlight Glimmer is a close second though because she is not the most powerful of them (I think Sunset Shimmer fit that category), but what made her dangerous is that she was the most cunning with even having the honor as the only major MLP villain to actually get away.
