"Yeah, but I made sure they were harmless. I got bored and wanted to see how far I can take this magic."

He added two other spell. So if they come after him, he can hide

It was at this moment when Lightning Blade decided that he couldn't be silent any longer.

 

"Forgive for interrupting, your Majesties, but if I may straighten this out...what you're saying is that a giant magical malfunction has given certain ponies throughout Equestria god-like powers, and there is currently no way to reverse this.  Not to mention," Lightning added with gesture over to Madness' direction, "that some of these new alicorns have been proven to be irresponsible with this power, attacking Sapphire and her squad in an attempt at a 'prank.' With all due respect, don't you think that this could lead to an even bigger catastrophe than Discord could ever hope to create?  How is the Royal Guard going to stop these new alicorns if they decide that they want to rule Equestria?"

"You make valid points. And unfortunately we don't have the answers. We just have to treat this crisis like any other until proven otherwise. Remember, these aren't monsters or demons from far reaches. These are our fellow ponies. And if some decide to prove a threat." She turns to look at madness. "Then my sister and I will handle the problem. We will research this phenomena in hopes of finding the cause and a possible solution. When and if Princess Twilight and Princess Cadence recover, I'll be sure to enlist them to the cause. The best thing we can do is keep a level head. Remember, those ponies out there are just as lost as we are. We wan't to help them though this, not make them feel like monsters."

 

"Treating them like outsiders or as threats is the last thing we wish to do. Even an ordinary pony can become an enemy to Equestria if made a pariah. We must give them the acceptance and understanding they need. Trust me when I say that." 

 

"Before we go into questions, Madness, do you have anything you'd like to say to these guardsponies?"

"What you want me to say it to everyone. Sorry for being weak to realize that they were harmless and was made to get a reaction from all the guards. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to test some spells on random ponies, or on the library. You all take you pick."

He pushed ponies out of the way as he made his way out of the room.

Celestia grabbed Madness in her magic. "Perhaps an apology for scaring the guards during a time of crisis would help. I do not think you quite grasp the severity of this situation. Ponies are in danger and you're deciding to pull pranks. And no, as one of the rulers of Equestria, I cannot permit you to "test" anything on my subjects. Would you like to know what happened to the last being who foolishly used his power to carelessly abuse innocent ponies? He was locked away in stone. Twice. I would rather not do that if I could help it. 

I believe that there is a chance for all this to be turned to Equestria's benefit, and that these new Alicorns can help our nation prosper. You can join us in helping Equestria Madness, rather than harming it. You do not want us as enemies, but we would prefer you to be our ally. What do you say Madness. Will you help us?"

Madness rolled his eyes and said as he teleported out of the magic holding him,

"That was my apology. He abused them, I'll test on them, there's a difference. So you don't mind me testing spells the library, ok."

He said as he walked out, 

"I might help, but want to try an interesting book out. Hopefully, there's a cemetery nearby."

Indicus sighed having an idea of what he was wanting to try. "Madness I'll go with you not to baby sit but to make sure that your first dabble into necromancy dose not get out of your control hell I'll give a few pointers if you want." Indicus was glad that Madness was not going to become another kill that he would have to make and kinda liked the idea of helping someone out with magic.

Madness smiled as he light his horn, 

"I got a book for that. Also, you would have to find me."

The spells went off, the untitled book appeared in front of him, the light went out, and he altered his body into a snake and slithered out of the castle. When he was out. he changed back and walked to the cemetery. When he got there he found a pet's grave, summoned a spear, and flipped through the book. when he found the spell, his horn glowed and he fired at the grave.

"I did not permit you to leave madness." Her horn glowed as she focused and teleported him back in before the spell was fired off. "Testing magic without authentic consent is considered abuse. It's also an illegal practice, one that has been such even before the time of Princess Platinum. As haughty and self centered as they were, even they were not blind to the cruelty demonstrated by sorcerers foal napping ponies and using them as test subjects.. Also, the graves sites are off limits. The sanctity of the departed, the peaceful slumber of those that came before and those we have lost, will not be disturbed. 

 

How would you like it if you were the one experimented and tested on? Hmm? Would it be fair for us to not consider your feelings at all,  and just do with you what we wish? How would you like that? You wouldn't would you? So why would anypony else?

And I appreciate you willing to keep an eye on him Indicus, but I'm not ready to let him go until I'm certain he can be trusted.

 

With great power madness, comes great responsibility. Are you willing to be responsible?" 

As this was going down, Luna nodded to Shining Armor. He teleported out and away onto the balcony. Waiting for the moment, should he get the signal. He had something in his hoof.

"Why would a book have the spell and how to make it work. I was prepared for whatever came out, I had a spear ready in case I couldn't control it. I have taken responsibility for all my action. I was just going to start with a pet, a weak small pet. And I would like to see you try."

"It appears you leave us no choice then. We thought you could be trusted. We thought you valued the lives of your fellow ponies." Luna gave the signal. "We were wrong. Know that we will do everything in our power to protect our subjects. Even if it has to be from you." As she was saying this, Shining jumped from the balcony. Before he was halfway down, he teleported. Right onto madness. A move he needed to rehearse countless times as to become captain. Restraining an out of control magic user. By clamping a black crystal nullifier ring. Right underneath the grooves of Madness's horn. *click* It was locked in place. Any spells cast would be deactivated and dispersed. 

Though having the ring on didn't mean the danger was over. Now Shining and the other guards would have to wrestle an Earth pony/Pegasus hybrid to the ground.

Madness watched the whole thing and said, "Guess you don't like enthusiasm for magic."

His horn glowed and the whole room was shroud in darkness. He said while bouncing his voice off the walls,

"I guess we all need to calm down and start thinking straight. Oh, and thanks for the idea. Now, this room is blocked of magic. In other words, no magic in the room." He walked out the door and headed for the library.

"Everpony out! Regroup at the dining hall!" The mass of guards exited the room in a rapid line. Luna & Celestia flew out. "I'll remove the journal. You lead the search."  With that Celestia teleported into the room where all this started. She grabbed the book in her mouth while summoning a black bag. She dropped the bag inside and tied it off. Once that was done, she slung the bag around her neck, and charged a teleport. In a flash of gold, she was gone with Starswirl's journal.

Indicus quietly followed the dark not hindering his sight, "I'm sorry that I must do this." Indicus muttered letting a venom unique to bat ponies to gather in glands in his mouth it was a paralyzing agent in small doses and deadly to even Alicorns if it was stored in larger amounts. The most a bat pony could hold was enough to kill something the size of an average pony. It was something that not even the princesses knew about.

Madness stopped, turned around and said, 

"You need to chill out as well. I am working with spells that might save ponies in the long run. I have a spell that will slow you down a little to think about what I'm trying to do."

He set up wires through the entire frame, that no pony could get through without bumping into at least one. and placed a slightly scary illusion spell on it. 

"The wires will disappear, in about an hour. That will be enough time to cool down."

His whole body melted into a shadow that he kept moving to the library

Indicus simply did the same and followed in the end he was using the same spell with using less then a quarter of the magic Madness was because of his affinity and experience and the illusion was laughable.

 

Projecting his voice Indicus replied. "I know what I am doing and what I will do. I have had to put down many ponies doing much the same as you are but ending up disregarding everything for some long run or imagined bigger picture. I warn you now to watch your step and evaluate your every action because once you become a threat, I will hunt you to the ends of the earth. You may indeed be working for the greater good but don't lose yourself to it."

A bird flew and landed the ground. It said, 

"Think about this, how many ponies will die if there are skeleton soldiers taking their place in a battle?"

 

Madness walked into the library, locked the door and balcony, made it so no pony can get in, then grabbed his copy of the book and started looking for a spell that might make skeleton clones, it's not the dead so they can sleep peacefully.

At this point, Lightning decided he was done listening to Madness and decided that if nopony was brave enough to do anything, he would have to be the one to stop him.

 

"I don't know the full extent of my sword's power, but I do know that this Madness must be stopped." he muttered as he drew his sword and looked at the inscriptions written on it. He closed his eyes and started muttering to himself. As he did so, his sword started glowing yellow, and so did his irises. The sky went dark and stormy, and thunder started rumbling throughout the sky. A large bolt of lightning struck the sword, and as it did a bright flash of light lit up the whole hall.

 

Lighting Blade's sword was now shining almost as bright as the sun, and it crackled electricity, enough to kill any normal pony. Would it work on an alicorn though? If Madness kept this charade up, Lightning was willing to find out.

Emerald and Sapphire were caught up in a world of there own and only took note of events when the room went dark, by this time Sapphire had recovered from her, emotional miniature breakdown, She looked to her sister "what is going on? What is happening?" Emerald hushed her sister and looked to what was going down, she saw what then transpired and watched as the event turned near violent, then watched as Madness moved into the library and locked the door. A group of guards were trying to break the door down, with little success "you lot follow me." She gestured for Sapphire and the group to follow "where are we going mam?" one of the guards asked, Sapphire responded 'we're using the sneaky door." The group moved around though a corridor till the came to a unassuming painting, which Emerald then touched the bottom of the frame with her hoof and a door appeared from the wall, the group moved though the passage until they burst into the Library, they all moved to surround the alicorn "Surrender now!" Emerald demanded, Sapphire however walked up to Maddness, speaking calmly to him. "what are you doing there, you think it's a good idea to turn all of us against you at once? Come with me and worry about you spells later when it's ok to do so." She smiled at him and gestured for him to come with her, much to the dismay of her sister and comrades.

Tempest sighed as he simply watched from the shadows. He then glanced at Dawn and gave s light smirk. "I think it is time for us to take our leave." He whispered.

 

The alicorn nodded and the two headed for the exit. While the princesses weren't exactly planning on abduction, she was still uncomfortable about the whole idea. "I could go for something to eat." She said.

Madness looked up and saw he was surrounded and realized he didn't hear a word. He said as his horn glowed,

"Why does everyone tries to stop me from saving pony's lives.

He teleported into the air and released two spells, the first one filled the library with darkness, and the second one dampened the sound in the room.
