But why should she, if it's been pretty much established, that her parents also live in Cantelot? There isn't any reason for Twilight to live in the castle, if her Parents still live in the same city. So no. Twilight probably stayed at home when she was younger, but when she became older and further in her studies is when she started to stay at the castle and the tower more often.
