What if the mane six had kids?

I've had people talking about this in fics, but I always wondered what if they had actual kids, and would they be the next gen for the show? It probably won't happen, but I would love it if this were to be the case. What do you think?

I would like to see it only because I think it would be funny if the children of the mane six turned out to be nothing like their parents. Imagine Rainbow Dash's son turning into a devoted egghead who dreams of running Cloudsdale's weather factories. Imagine Fluttershy's daughter as a daredevil too undisciplined to even consider joining the Wonderbolts. Imagine Rarity's daughter as a punk rock musician. Imagine Twilight Sparkle's son as a disorganized slob. Imagine Applejack's son hating life on the farm and leaving to study airship aeronautics. Imagine Pinkie Pie's daughter having more in common with her Aunt Maud than with her.

 

The possibilities are endless.

Imagine Pinkie Pie's daughter having more in common with her Aunt Maud than with her.

 

The possibilities are endless.

But babies can't appear by magic (well it could happen in this show but that's not my point), they require some strong establishment beforehand, such as growth, romance, marriage and/or pregnancy. And having these well-developed requires time and good script and I'm not confident this one would last that long; the show will evolve into animated Friends* / Modern Family* as well, which is not what it was meant to be.

(*double the number of main characters in these shows please)

 

Also, Hasbro would not be happy as well. This is a toy commercial for our toys, not a series

I don't know. There are numerous theories and fan fiction about it. But I'll say it will start in gen 4.5. But the mane 6 except twilight don't have a special somepony so, yeah. I would explode if they have a baby

Yes I will and they deserve it. Every hard-working artist/writer should get appreciated.

 

My point is, I enjoy this fun idea (and so does fanfics), but getting M6 pregnant might not work out that comfortably in the actual show.

For the sake of Faust's original intentions please no. Having the ponies have kids would help to reinforce certain stereotypes in society. Said stereotypes Lauren wanted to avoid.

Fanfiction has next to no influence on the writing. Show me an example where it has (and returning characters do not count).

Um well that  doesn't really count as Fanfics in show as much as the writer somewhat nitentily making him look like the tenth doctor and just ran with it.

That was never there before, and i doubt the writer came up with that one on thier own.

Yet some don't think so, It wouldn't hurt the show to have it. Just have them develop gradually and we got our characters, though the writing would take time to pull off.
