technical issue Uploading avatar

I've only just joined so I don't know how everything works and I'm having a problem I've never had before, uploading my avatar. Every time I try and upload from my files I'm told the image I want to use is too big and when I try using the URL I'm told it can't save, it allows me to upload an avatar picture I made on a character creator but not the scan of the drawing I made of my pony OC, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong so if someone could please clear this up for me.

The size of the pic needs to be 150x150 pixels

 

and the total size of the file itself must be less than 100KB, if yours is too big just use a basic paint program to resize it, and save as a PNG. A 150x150 PNG won't be over 100KB

 

Edited several times because parasprites ate some of the letters

@Shamira, as BPCannon said, you can only upload an avatar when:

• Its size doesn't surpass 100kb. If you decide to donate to this forums, you can expand the limit to 150kb, as part of the donation perks.
• Its dimensions don't surpass 150x150(as a normal member), or 150x200 (as a Donor). Although if you use a picture that doesn't meet the minimim dimensions, yet it has a size under 100/150kb, it will be resized to the most adaptable size.

You can always use a basic painting program, or use this online editor , if you don't want to go through the problems of finding the right program.
