gaming Assassin's Creed Syndicate - What do you think?

Honestly, Assassin's Creed has been on a lot of people's poopoo lists lately because of Unity (which I find hilarious how one game ruins it for people), but Syndicate has impressed me COMPLETELY.

 

The only issue I have with Syndicate is the lack of

you guessed it...

 

MODERN DAY PLOT

 

The only real amount we get is these cutscenes that, all together, are generally around 40 minutes. If you enter (spoilers:) the World War I time rift and complete it, you learn some stuff about the First Civilization, or the Isu, which is their actual name. Juno speaks about how she was sealed, and how she failed with Aita, etc. I am almost to the end of the game, and I heard the ending is horrendous, so please cover any ending details in a spoiler tab!

 

Let me know who you like better - Jacob or Evie? I prefer Evie.

I honestly forgot it had already been released. It seemed like there wasn't any hype around it this year.

 

I'll probably get it eventually, but I still need to pick up Unity, and try to play through it.

I think it looks awesome. I am not going to get it yet because Fallout 4 and Star wars Battlefront come first on my buy list, and I don't want to spend too much money too fast. I love the setting and the fact you can play as 2 different assassins. I think Jacob is cooler just because of the top hat, but Evie is pretty basass. Sure, assassins creed has had its low point, but overall the series is great. Unity was bad partly because they were trying out a new engine and game play system. 3 wasn't great for the same reason, but then Black Flag came along and blew my mind with it's awesomeness. I hope this one is good.

I haven't actually picked up this game yet, which is more due to dodgy feelings towards Ubisoft games in general right now rather than just Unity itself, but knowing me I probably will grab it when it's cheaper. I heard about the Modern day story being mostly relegated to cut scenes or brief, heavily scripted interactable moments. Not entirely sure why they still feel nervous about showing off more with the Modern Day plot, it's like they just don't know what to do with it really. My only beef with that is it really feels more of a distraction to the main gameplay now more then something I should be invested in, I just wonder why it seems they're trying to stall it so much.

The London the crated was awesome run through a park you'd see kids playing soccer or running around having fun the city didn't feel dull like GTA V.

But the story was utter crap i had finished a side quest the ended with (Spoiler) Henry and Evie getting married, they had met one sequence before that pissed me off but then i finish all of the side quests and most of the collectible meaning i have the best sword cane, kurki, knuckle dusters and armors for my characters making the entire game insultingly easy. The game play which was challenging before become "press X to win" and the glitches OH the glitches. The zip line killed me a dozen times over because i brushed near something and it flung me into the distance, while free running i got stuck on hobo's asleep on the ground and stubborn people who i pushed out of the way but they glitched in place meaning i got stuck in them and there was one funny (not funny) glitch where i jumped onto a ledge and Jacob just spun in circles with no input from me.

 

The only 2 good things about this game are The world and the world war 1 secret (So once again the fucking world) I enjoyed this game at first but just got more and more angry at it, i see what i could have been and it makes me sad that games i once loved are going down this road of releasing a game with more bugs than a triple cunted hooker once a year rather than spending their time making a great game, but no we're stuck with this sub-par bullshit and we're expected to swallow it without complaint or be dog piled by the hordes of angry fan boys.

 

EDIT: I forgot to mention that more than once in a cut-scene i was talking to an invisible character or the character was out of aliment so i'd have a book flouting around, Evie/Jacob would be hallucinating someone next to them or a NPC would have gained telekinetic abilities it was funny at first till i started dreading cut-scenes.

 

If you seriously feel like this isn't a sub-par game and in fact think it's a great game please send me an email, i'll send you money i can most likely write you off as charity work.

 

I never played unity, the last assassins game i played was black flag which was fun if a bit too drawn out.

I like how it was more light-hearted than the previous games.  I found the plot a tad boring, but a major step-up from Unity.

 

Ah, I'm also torn between the two.  Jacob's really fun and proactive, but Evie has a cooler head and a cooler outfit.  Shallow of me, I know, but hey.  XD

I'm only on Sequence 6, i have been doing a lot of the side missions and this game is very good. It's a lot better than Unity.
