That would be pretty awesome, though while I know the canon-status of the comics is often debated issue #3 of FIENDship is Magic, featuring the Sirens, shows Equestria in the look of ancient Greece/Rome. Twas a nice rendition from what I remember.

I love this idea, but it could get a bit too action packed for its targeted audience.

You know, Rome was not exactly a peaceful empire.

Ponies dressed in togas getting drunk would be pretty amazing though.

I think MLP has had a ton of Greco-roman influences in it. I mean look at Cloudsdale alone.   Also a TON of the mythology and creatures used are based on those old influences. I mean they don't use the fashion, but that's only because ponies can not handle the awesome power of the toga!

Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.

Actually MLP has a lot of Greco-Roman influences even if it they aren't quite as blatant as what is shown in the pictures in the OP. Cloudsdale is a good example a previous user gave, there are also various mythological monsters such as the cerberus and hydra, it is implied that they have a sort of hell called Tartarus which is a reference to Tartarus in Greek mythology which is considered the worst part of Hades.

Yes.  Putting aside the constant invoking of greek mythology in it's creatures Cloudsdale has a ton of greek themes.  Heck.  The founder Commander Hurricane even dressed as a Spartan.  Plus there's plenty to support Cloudsdale were primarily Equestrias military during its founding.  How they are organized, disciplined, combined with the dress and greek archetexture makes me believe this is no coincidence.
