Do you consider ponies as a way of escaping reality?

I wouldn't consider watching the show a form of escapism, personally. I've always liked children's cartoons, so I only consider it a form of entertainment.

Escaping reality isn't a great way of dealing with life's problems and generally makes them more difficult to confront, but I can understand that it helps sometimes.

Escapism leads to entertainment being used as a drug in many cases. People need to confront their problems, think about them, and talk about them with others.

I agree, that would be first prize. But if that's not going to ultimately help with solving the problem for whatever reason, having an occasional escape from dealing with it is a good thing.

For me, it's the difference between treating a disease and suppressing the symptoms. Sometimes the disease itself it not treatable, but if there is a drug available to reduce the suffering caused by the disease, I say it's fine to take it.

Yeah. It's one of those things I do to (like Billy Joel once said) forget about life for a while. My parents have a little something to do with it too, because I don't get along with my dad very well, and my mom is a very busy person at work, so ever since I started watching MLP, I always thought of the Mane Six as a sort of second family I could go to every now and then.

It's the reverse effect for me. It help me to FACE it.

I have changed my way to see the life with some beautiful movies and this show too. In the past, I was not exactly a good person.

Now, the art, the sport, the fighting are my life. And I think it's better to "feel" the life in us with some fears and in taking some risk than to stay in a "confort zone". I will never give up for realize my objectives.

For finish, I say this : Even if you believe that you are a "looser", it's not true. You can break your falses limits, reality or not, with time, patience, and perseverance.

Well...not really. Sure, they help me through some rough times, but not to the point that I want to leave reality completely.

I do, but ultimately wouldn't enjoy actually living as much as wings of fire or such because of the unexualness between the kids of ponies. all better than earth pones and alicorns are a pass go and collect 200$ card.

After 9 years in development, hopefully it would have been worth the wait

"Nope"

How could you say "Escape"!

According to the Many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, everything may happen does happen. The show has shown us this possibility so there must be some places where ponies exist. In other words, ponies are the reality.

There was a time when I could exclude the word and only focus the show(and the fan section) but I had never admitted it, not like I was depressed or something, it was just a very new thing and amused me. Now I just simply enjoy it but rarely check on the new pony stuff. Truth to say, it can be a way to find peace and don't worry about other things but I think it's not the way to solve the problems(if you have any).

No, that's what I use shows like Breaking Bad for. Since characters like Walt and Jesse are much worse off than I am, I usually stop worrying about whatever is going on with my life.
