Could your brain actually tell you through dreams what will happen next?

I think dreams can give you signs or clarifications, but not be able to tell what's next.

For example, one time I had a nightmare that I was in a padded room (like they would have at an asylum) and there were no windows or doors. I was sitting on a wooden chair and all I had was a hedgehog. But every second the hedgehog would multiply, and every time it multiplied the room got smaller.

I realized later that it was describing how much pressure I felt from my Grandmother. Her favorite animal is a hedgehog, and I guess I always feel like I can't ever meet her standards and there's no escape from her judgement.

If dream can show us the future then hell, I just dreamt about joining this art contest and met this nice cute girl who seems to be interested in me. So finger cross I guess?

But I do believe dreams does have ability to tell us things and what we should be aware of.

Not a chance. Dreams are random, and will probably never give an accurate answer to something that will happen in the future. You have a bigger chance to get some answers in the "Say Something Random" thread here at the forum than from your dreams

When I was a sophomore in high school, I had a dream about one of my old middle school teachers being really scared of something. A few days later, my high school had a bomb threat and we evacuated to the middle school gym where I ended up seeing that very same former teacher of mine for the first time since 8th grade.

Of course, I think this was just a coincidence. But it was a little eerie.

If the brain had a link to the world, it would be able to tell things you wouldn't be able to see. But sadly, you are in control of your brain. It won't happen.

Hmmm if my dreams are actually an indication of what will happen in the future, then the future is a very interesting place indeed
