gaming Fallout 4 DLC and mod support

As many of you may know, DLC for Fallout 4 has been announced and Todd Howard has said mod support for consoles is coming soon. Fallout 3 and New Vegas had some great DLC, and I think Fallout 4 will as well. Mod support is especially exciting, since it's more or less the first time mods were easily available on console. What do you guys think about this news?

I like the look of this, especially since the 3rd expansion sounds like it's going to be gigantic, but what I do not like was the bait and switch. The season pass price is going up now for those who didn't buy it early, I mean at LEAST they are giving people the chance to snatch it now before the prices go up, but still it's kind of crappy to charge more money because they realized they could get more instead of just honoring their original price.

Then again if this is the worst thing Bethesda has ever done, they're still no where near as bad as 99% of companies.

The worst thing Bethesda has done was paid mods. I don't think changing the price on the season pass is that bad when it was $30 and the first 2 DLCs will totally $35. Beyond that there's another officially announced and the confirmation that there will be more that haven't been announced yet. Especially since they still gave everybody time who wanted to get the pass time before the price increase.

Anyway, console mods will be a pale imitation of PC mods. They'll all have to be okay'd by Bethesda (and probably Sony/Microsoft) and converted to work on consoles.

It's unlikely graphics improvements will be possible as consoles aren't nearly as powerful as a high end PC. Some mods that rely on things like .dll injection or post processing might not be possible at all because console OSs are so closed. They'll have to be a lot more careful with anything that might come close to breaking copyright because any mod they release will be sort of officially endorsed, so a lot of the humor mods that add pop culture references and internet jokes are out. It's doubtful any of the body replacers will be added since they almost always involve nudity.

Some mods are better than no mods, but I'm worried console players have the wrong idea.

And maybe some console peasants will realize what they're missing and join the glorious PC Master Race.

Signature now 99% less edgy!

They can't beat Konami in being the worst company anymore :o.

Japan, where Yo-Kai Watch's second movie has more success than The Force Awakens :umad:

This is what I heard.

There will be 3 DLCs. There will be one DLC every month starting in March. The first DLC will be $10 (will have a quest line and a new robot companion crafting mechanic. You get to go around and kill robots and collect their parts to make your own robots), the second will be $5 (will have new workshop stuff and you will be able to trap monsters to have arena monster fights and stuff), and the third will be $25 (this will be the one with a whole new land and quests). I think these are very reasonable prices. In fact, I might end up getting all three. Mod support will come in between the first and second DLC on PC and about a month later on console.  They are also going to be adding survival mode in a free update like in New Vegas where you have to eat, drink, sleep, etc (that's what I'm really exited about). That will be beta tested on PC before being released on consoles. I don't know when that will be added, but it is supposed to be soon.

I play PC and will continue to use mods from the Nexus, but I think console mods will be good. Weather they are good or not, the important thing is that they are making mods available on consoles at all. I don't think that has been done before. That is at least a step in the right direction. The best part will be that they will release the official modding tools like they did with Fallout 3 and Skyrim, so mods for PC and console will start getting even better.
