The year is 3560, and humanity has achieved mastery of virtual reality gaming. Millions of games can be bought on the market today, and one of them is Shadowtale. Shadowtale is probably the most played fantasy RPG game, that relies heavily on tactics and teamwork. The goal of Shadowtale, is to defeat the 8 gods that inhabit this world, but in order to get to them, you’ll have to clear out the highest level dungeon on the current continent and obtain the item that lets you travel to its layer. But suddenly, a virus spread through this virtual reality server… A virus that prevented you from exiting the game, and in planted a command in your headgear to kill you if you die in game. But that’s not the only thing… The virus has also started corrupting files. These files take form as black, glitchy creatures in the game. Now the main question is, how will they survive?

What you just read, is the central plot to a sword art online inspired RP. Now as you have probably found out from the title, this is a 2x2 human romance RP. Meaning two males and two females. We are all about level 20 or so, meaning we have a good grasp on how the game works etc. We will be friends who have just met and decided to play the game together, so we know each other prior to these events but not to the point we have crazy synergy. Just name, basic likes/Dislikes etc

Game system

The system is very similar to a lot of RPG games. Talents, abilities, rides, classes etc.

Let’s start with the classes:

 

The knights:

 

 

Standard Knight: The Knight is often depicted as a more experienced Fighter. They typically wear bigger, heavier armor, and so may sacrifice speed to be more defensive or gain support abilities to aid their allies in battle (which may include the ability to intercept attacks, a "taunt" which forces enemies to attack them, and/or the ability to make powerful Counter Attacks against enemies who ignore them). Knights may be able to employ mounted combat on a steed, if there is no dedicated Cavalier class.
The Dark Knight:. The Dark Knight class is the opposite number of the Paladin, possessing the power of Darkness and often necromantic or dark-magic oriented abilities that deal large amounts of damage to enemies, although often with a price. They may have abilities that lower their target's stats or inflict Standard Status Effects also. As the opposite of the Paladin, they may do more damage to light based enemies such as angels, fairies or other traditionally good/holy creatures even if Light Is Not Good or find such foes to be their biggest weakness.
The paladin: The Paladin is a Fighter with the power of Light and healing magic, as well as defensive buffs for their allies. Their devotion to their god or deity gives them various prayers, healing abilities and light-based spells to protect themselves and others. Naturally, they are a type of Magic Knight. They are also quite good at laying the smite down on undead, demons and other traditionally evil supernatural creatures. However, they may have behavioral limits: some rulesets impose varying penalties on taking actions that stray too far from Lawful Good, which can lead to weakening of abilities, loss of abilities or sometimes even being kicked out of the "Paladin" class entirely. If the setting doesn't have behavioral limitations they may have lower stamina or speed to balance out their magic.
The Dragon Knight: A Fighter who either is in the employ of, powered by, owns, or who specializes in hunting, dragons. A Dragon Knight usually has a variety of extra abilities that mimic or relate to dragons in some way — flight or high jumping ability, fire breath, and dealing extra damage to dragons are all common. In many lucky circumstances, they may own a dragon as a pet (either a big one large enough to ride on, or a smaller one).

 

 

Assasins, agility focused classes

 

 

The Swashbuckler: A fighter who tends toward light or no armor and prefers agility, cunning, daring and technical skill to sheer force. Tends to be rogue-like in his or her trappings (though usually more flamboyant than subtle) and is often used to evoke the Rogue archetype in games where skills and stealth play a small or no role.
The Ninja: Generally, the highest tier of Rogue-type classes. The Ninja is a rogue who may have a long list of useful skills. Stealth and backstabbing are universal, but beyond that, it gets hazy. Invisibility, smoke techniques that increases evasion, long-range elemental powers, and sometimes-special bonuses to combat like dual wielding. They also tend to excel at throwing items like shurikens, daggers, and kunai. Often a Game Breaker. May be combined with the Assassin or distinct
The Shadow: Occasionally, Rogue-types will specialize in magic or powers that augment their stealth, and when they do, those powers generally feature darkness, shadows or the occult as themes. May be distinct or combined with the Ninja or Assassin.
The Gambler: The Gambler is a rogue who has a set of magical powers that rely more on chance than usual. They may have to draw a card, spin a roulette, roll magical dice, or activate a magical slot machine to get a desired effect, which may be positive or negative depending on their luck. Very likely to attack with playing cards in lieu of throwing knives.

 

 

Long range and magicians

 

 

The Sniper Ranger: This version is totally reliant on archery, but usually does higher damage because of it. May have a variety of status-inflicting arrows to slow or otherwise annoy enemies. Keeps to the back of a battle.
The Bow and Blade Ranger: A version of the ranger that can handle bladed weapons as well, allowing them to defend themselves against approaching enemies or close in for the kill. The most likely Ranger to overlap with the Fighter archetype.
The Magical Ranger: A version of the ranger who can use enchanted or Trick Arrows to take advantage of Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors, or slow down and disable enemies with "net arrows" or "freezing arrows" and the like.
The Inherent Gift Magician: This magic-user was born with abilities they don't need to study, and can use more readily than other magicians. This is sometimes explained as being descended from a magical creature, other times as being part of a Witch Species. However, they are often much less versatile than other magic-users, being limited to a smaller or much more tightly-themed pool of spells. Commonly, their powers manifest at adolescence.
The Theurgist: The Magician makes a pact with a higher spirit, who supplies him with magical powers. This is usually flavored with a Deal with the Devil. While healing class pacts are seen as good, a magician that makes a pact with an entity that gives them the power to harm or destroy is usually flavored in a darker light - and it may turn out to be with demons or Eldritch Abominations. Thus, this type of magic is usually heavily offensive and nasty.

The Summoner: Other Names: Conjurer. A higher level in which the caster summons the entity to them to do its bidding. Usually even more dangerous than regular Theurgists. Usually supplemented with some magic of another type. If the summoned entity sticks around for a while to assist the summoner, then they may learn magic that allows them to support it. If the summoned entity simply uses a single powerful attack or ability before vanishing, then the summoner is likely to have weaker abilities of roughly the same type, with the summons themselves serving as a form of Limit Break.

 

 

Abilities

The moves you’ll use in battle. You don’t have to give me any information about that. The class you chose will tell me enough

Talents

Talents are things that your character can do besides fighting. Stuff like cooking, tracking, smith etc. You may have 5 talents at the beginning.

Rides

This will be nothing more but your transport out of battle. Make sure to choose a ride that fits your character. For example, a dragon knight will have a dragon.

Yes indeed you may However, i must warn you, that i intend to finish the RP, so please don't just randomly leave. Also, me and Wubs have a pretty fast pace, that we can tone down if you want, but i just wanted to warn you :3

I could try that, but I'm not home three evenings a week. But then I could make some time free in the afternoon. I really want to try it since Sword Art Online is my favorite anime ever and I've been wanting to play a romance RP for a long time.

But I'd hate to have to leave it too because I can't keep it up, or slow it down a lot. So I'm not sure anymore if I should do this :/

Yea, that could work I'm just going to do it. But you can go fast if you want to, I'm used to roleplays that used to have lots of posts when I'm asleep, that's why I tend to use a little bit more quiet characters that usualy stay a bit more on the background so I can more easily write them back into the story.

So, Expect my character somewhere in the next few days. Now I know what kind of character to use I can, hopefully, figure out her design soon. I'be been trying to draw one the whole day but that's more difficul as I though

I get that. In fact, I'd probably do it myself to be honest. The only issue I have with it is that it makes it a little more confusing, but  it's not that big of a deal. 

 

By the way, may I ask what class you and @@VinylWubs have?

Yay, finished my character but I'm not sure what kind of rides and gear I could chose, gear are their weapons and the stuff they cary with them right? But I have no idea for a ride :/

Personality: Yuna is a little bit shy and prefers to stay out of the spotlight in front of strangers but with her friend she's really open hearted and kind. She hates it if there is a bad mood somewhere and always tries to cheer people up when they are feeling down. even though she doesn't talk too much, she likes making jokes but she can also be very serious if that's needed or when she feels down. she easily trusts other people and tries to see something positive in everyone. she is also very musical and she loves singing and playing on the flute.
Appearance: Yuna is a little bit smaller as average. she's also quite slim and not muscular at all. she has a very light skin, grey eyes and brown hair. she wears her hair in two ponytails with a ribbon wrapped around it (see picture for reference)
her clothes are a lilac and white dress with matching arm thingys. she has a reddish leather cloak that also is her protection. her boots are made of the same material as her cloak. she has silver points and heels on her boots, silver bracelets and a silver buckle on her belt.


Talents: cooking, agility, playing the flute, crafting, tracking
Gear: a silver bow and sword. a little wooden flute, spices to cook with and a lantern
Ride: very big grey wolf named light.
Class: bow and blade ranger
