More action episodes?

Would you be open to more action-oriented episodes with worldbuilding? The show has such a big world, and it's going to waste.

i don't watch MLP for action.  i'm ok with some, but they are my least favorite, and I'd prefer the number remain as low as it is or lower.  

 

The bigger waste would be to have this cool interpersonal relationships show, and then squander THAT with tons of action.

yes. I would LOVE more adventure episodes. I really liked Power ponies, do princesses dream of magical sheep, and I like the comics for their more action focused plotlines.

 

 

THAT BEING SAID, you'd pretty much have to find an excuse to kick twilight to the curb every single adventure episode, because at this point she's just too strong and will overshadow pretty much everyone else there.

Look at Power ponies: Twilight was NERFED in her "super hero" form, while the others were powered up, and they were still just equal to her.

 

 

 

 

On that note, I think we can safely expect more action coming our way, in at least spike's episode; The guardians of harmony toy line is a thing after all and they have to sell their action figures somehow! Plus, we should be getting some guardians of harmony cartoons of some sort in the future, based on the trademark.

If the stories are done well, I don't mind some action. I've always thought the show had some potential for action-oriented stories since powerful spellcasters exist, and characters like Rainbow Dash and Applejack don't seem to mind seeing some action. That said, the action will need to be more interesting than shooting some laser beam in the case of the unicorns.

There's this as well since Twilight is pretty strong and can easily overshadow her friends. There could be some magic-related problem that Twilight isn't conveniently around for. Her friends will have to figure things out without her, which could make for an interesting story.

I personally prefer the slice of life eps over the adventure ones, premieres/finales aside. I wouldn't mind an episode with action, but I'd still rather the focus be kept on the characters and the relationships, with action being secondary to that.

I'm not really clamoring for more episodes of any specific sort. The bread and butter of the show lies in it's character-building SoL stories; with the larger adventure & world-building episodes providing a fun diversion from that. Really; as long as we get quality episodes like we've been getting I won't complain.

I think some action is nice a bit but given mlp is slice-of-life mostly centered is what makes the show.    I only hope we get more of the world with the Cutie Map this time around unlike last season.    Not that I don't mind seeing the CMC and Ponyvillie just it feels somethings are getting pushed to the side a bit sadly.

If they were to be at the extent of something like Dragonshy I would enjoy some more action based episodes.

This isn't an action show, But I don't hate the slice of life episodes. The drawback to the slice of life  is that eventually you will run out of material and subject matters to the point where stuff can get rehashed. If they did more adventure based episodes it would give us a justified excuse to see what lies beyond Equestria. I would like to see more action but it needs to be done in a proper mix between kid and adult. The season 5 finale was all over the place, but the villains's time lines in my opinion are as dark as the show is going to get or as action packed as it will get.

There have to be reasons why the characters are engaging in physical means rather than "talking" it out and I'm afraid that MLP is not geared towards that direction. True though, that the show have its moments of physical conflict but truly the backbone of MLP is centered around slice of life.

I expect at least 2 this season.

 

Specifically, The dragon gauntlet episode I expect to be a full on action episode for spike in order to sell his guardian of harmony toys. Secondly, there's a precedent over the past two seasons of having at least one mid season Mane six group adventure episode (Do princesses dream of magical sheep and power ponies), so I expect we'll get one this season too.

 

Past that, we'll have to wait and see.
