One of the main characters related to a villain

Just an idea I'm sure everyone else has made.

What if one of the Mane Six, or Sunset Shimmer, was related to one of the villains?

Example: Sunset Shimmer being Sombra's daughter.

The FiM fiction page is packed with "Chrysalis is  Twilight's mother" stories. I never see it for other Mane 6 members.

If Fluttershy's brother makes an appearance I would like if he was, if not a villain, an antagonist. It would be interesting. Spikes dragon parents might be revealed and they might be unpleasant as well.

 

But I doubt neither of these will happen. Maybe some villain getting a new character relative is more likely, such as Chrysalis getting one if there are nice changelings.

If Fluttershy's brother makes an appearance I would like if he was, if not a villain, an antagonist. It would be interesting. Spikes dragon parents might be revealed and they might be unpleasant as well.

 

But I doubt neither of these will happen. Maybe some villain getting a new character who is a relative is more likely, such as Chrysalis is there are nice changelings.

I wonder if Chrysalis's mother is still alive? If the changelings pass the title of queen when the old queen passes.

Manely because the other 5 are about as mundane as you can get. The ONLY one of the 5 who was every thought of as being remotely near as special as twilight was Rainbow dash, and that was only during season 1 when she got Multiple episodes dealing with her sonic rainboom as a big deal (cutie mark chronicles and sonic rainboom).

Since then, Rainbow dash's flight abilities have been HEAVILY downplayed with her being seen as easily kept up with by other prodigies or flyers (like lightning dust) and no new super abilities shown.

 

 

I mean, Lets look at rarity: She's a fashionista, and JUST a fashionista. She has absolutely nothing special about her besides being friends with twilight, and she's not exempliary in magic or other skills.

Applejack? she kicks tree's hard, and that's it. Not exactly "Lineage of the gods" tier here.

 

 

 

Twilight gets "She's XXX's kid" stories since she's Absurdly powerful, and you could do the same type of story for sunset or Starlight. But not the other mane six really unless you try and play up RD's abilities more.

I don't like the Twilight is Chrysalis's daughter stories because Twilight never freaks out. If you read the stories, Twilight is  shocked and gets over it rather quickly. Twilight from the actual show would have a mental breakdown and would never accept that one of Equestria's most evil figures is her mother.

Agreed. I imagine the same thing would happen if she learned Sombra was her father.

Honestly, now that we're talking about her parents: twilight's parents might as well be dead with her being an orphan. celestia is honestly FAR more of a mother to her than them

 

 

Thinking about things though, we've already seen rarity, pinkie and Twilight's parents. Fluttershy, RD and AJ are the only one with any mystery about them, and very little at that: We already have a good idea of who dash's dad is and he looked pretty mundane; AJ's parents seem like they were just random farmers who died. The only one with any possible surprises would probably be fluttershys.

Pinkie is mundane? Then again, her background is pretty down-to-earth (pre-rainboom it would be the most mundane of the mane 6 backgrounds). Pinkie is pretty different from the rest of her family, though, so maybe there's something strange lurking in her family tree...

 

And on the subject of Nightmare Moon, we never really saw enough of her to know if she's a 'corrupted' version of Luna or a different personality entirely. I mean, she never referred to Celestia as her sister (despite the rather negative bond they had) and her and Luna's behavior was quite different (evilness aside of course).

As an aside, I wonder how well Luna actually remembers her time as NMM?

I feel bad for Twilight Velvet being in Celestia's shadow. But then again Twilight being a student 24/7 would do that to her. Twilight Velvet is also the youngest looking grandma.

What if the stallion in Rainbow Dash flashback from "Games Ponies Play" Isn't her father? It probably was, but bear with me. If there is a villain that was her father, it would be a perfect moment for a Star Wars Reference.
