gaming Who's the most underrated Sonic character? (In your opinion)

Silver Burst

Honestly, I think Amy Rose is super underrated. I mean, she's cute and could be super caring and sweet, if SEGA didn't make her absolutely obsessed with Sonic. And sure, she isn't trying to smother him every two seconds in Sonic Boom, but I don't like talking about that series. I think that's the reason people hate her so much, because she's always after Sonic, and just Sonic. So much so to the point where she mistakenly thought Shadow AND Silver were him.

Do I think she's underrated? Yes.

Do I think she's a bad character? No.

Do I think she can be improved upon? Yes.

Do I think she NEEDS to be improved upon? DESPERATELY

Now enjoy this cute pic of loli Amy.post-38046-0-84127300-1462974073_thumb.png

Tikal the Echidna is my favorite Sonic character and she gets practically no love. I love her design, voice, and personality and I do think she is easily one of the most underrated Sonic characters.

I actually agree with Amy being poorly used. She's been known to be a decent character when she's not stalking Sonic.

My personal vote goes to Antoine. In the SatAM cartoon he's fairly shallow and mostly comedy relief but it works well enough. In the comics he'll start out that way but he turns into a much better character later on when they start revealing that his love for the princess is mostly misguided loyalty born from the stress of being the only "knight" to protect her for many years.

I loved Tikal in the games. I wish they'd explore the lost echidnas more like they do in the comics.

I would have to agree on the Tikal sentiment. After Adventure 2 she was never seen again. For shame Sega.

I personally loved how they did Amy in Boom. She's a lot less Sonic grab grab and has arguably the most useful ability. She gets around a lot in that game, as Tails really only can "fly" if there's a fan. Maybe she's grab grab in the cartoon but I don't get the channel that carries it so I can't say. I saw maybe one instance of Amy being Sonic obsessed in Lyric, if that. They seem to have a very professional relationship built on mutual respect.

Amy was actually a really good character in Sonic X. The games are literally the only part of the franchise that turns her into a psycho stalker. She has much more personality everywhere else.

I need to get a Wii-U so I can play Sonic Boom. I noticed before the games even released that Amy was changing for the better.

I'm probably gonna go with Blaze, I always thought she was awesome yet people always lump her with most of the other characters when people talk about how new Sonic characters are always awful

I'm gonna be burned alive for this (ha, puns) but I loved Blaze in Sonic 06. I was not expecting her to

end up sacrificing her life to erase Solaris from existence; past, present and future.

Quite a twist.

I'm probably biased for her strong resemblance to one of my pony OCs, but Honey the Cat is a character that has caught my attention recently. However, it's more for her arc in the comics than any role she had in the games. In personality, I like how she stands out from the other characters, especially the other female characters, in being a truly independent character whose arc isn't dictated by her relationships or obsessions with materialism or any other characters, and being a business owner; one who is pushy and determined but also ethical and moral as opposed to Breezie the Hedgehog who had no loyalties to anyone. I'd think of her in terms of taking Rarity and replacing her drama queen and perfectionist tendencies with a more perky, upbeat demeanor, a willingness to do anything for business, and some fangirl tendencies around Sonic (but most decidedly not to Amy's level, more in awe with his power and heroism than a crush on him).

As far as working her into the games, however, this would be a pain, considering that her only (intended) appearance was Sonic the Fighters and that her skill set and personality would not mesh well with much of the rest of the cast. The guys working on the fangame Sonic World are preparing her to be included in the next release, and I can't wait to turn her loose on some of those levels to see what she's really got. In that game, I play quite a bit as Jet and Wave and to some extent as Blaze.

With that said, I do think Blaze is pretty good, too. She strikes a good balance between utility as far as her moveset as well as depth as a character in terms of story. The only criticism I normally hear is that she plays very similar to Sonic. That and I often question the wisdom of running around everywhere in heels. She's probably one of the more nuanced of the new characters introduced into the franchise since after Sonic Adventure 2.

I'm gonna say Julie-Su OR Bunnie Rabbott.

My favourite is Rouge, BTW.

I agree 100%. She's such a great character! And she's also super cute >w<

Really? Wow! I thought she would of been more well received than that!

But, what do I know. I hardly look up on this kind of stuff.
