private Dinner with the King (RP)

"Hello," he said, trying now to hide his depression. "I don't know why he invited so many pegasi, it's just a bit odd. Don't you think?"

 

She tried to cover her muzzle as she talked to avoid killing the pony with her horrible breath.

 

"Oh, hello. Uhm... I guess. Didn't even notice really. I'm still waking up a bit... and that carriage driver ..." She shivered thinking about how angry he was.  

 

"Do you know what we are all doing here?" She asked.

"Do you know what we are all doing here?" She asked.

 

Flash sighed and said as sympatheticly as he could,

 

"The driver didn't tell you? Well, at the end of every month, the king invites six guests over for dinner, but only one ever comes back. My mother died like this, it was two months ago..."

 

After saying that he looked down at the floor and prodded the carpet with his hoof.

seeing the mate Cresents heart took a shot to the already storming mix of emotions. " I hate to be that pony but, it's one of those only one of us trots out alive things." he said Looking at the mirror himself he still wondered why him of all ponys as well, he sighed "sorry" he added

Stardust looked at them both... blank faced. She couldn't tell if it was out of terror, anger, or hilarity. 

 

"No. Not this time. This time.... we all walk out. I don't care what...or WHO this guy thinks he is. That is not happening." 

 

She looked to the other couple of ponies that were inside. "You said he invites six, there is only five?"

"No. Not this time. This time.... we all walk out. I don't care what...or WHO this guy thinks he is. That is not happening." 

 

She looked to the other couple of ponies that were inside. "You said he invites six, there is only five?"

"Oh, there's six alright. Just look over at the table, everyone has a little nameplate, each labeled guest one through six. I guess the last one is just running a bit late." Flash said. "I wonder why? But how do you suggest we all get out? He's an all powerful dark magic wielding unicorn, we don't stand a chance."

"Maybe not alone. But together? First. Move all the plates to one side of the table. Try to out think him. He is after all trying to play a game with us right? That's all this is to him, a sick game." She was motivated. She was not going to let some big bully try and knock her down.

Flash was a tad confused.

 

"What is moving the plates supposed to do? I don't get it."

 

'I never thought of fighting back, but what do I have to live for? I don't have much time left, so a few days less really doesn't matter to me. I just want to see my mother again. But if I could get these guys out of here, then it just might be worth it.' He thought.

@@Stardust*, Cresent wasn't sure if he was glad or annoyed at the mares spirit

 

"you don't think we havnt thought along those lines, listen your probably a smart mare but this has been going on for years if anypony has tried to put up a fight they sure as hey havnt been abel to live to tell about it. This isn't somebully at school, this is Sombra. having us work to the bone most of us half to death only to have his medics revive us long enough to get back to work in the mines as his slaves or worse!" Cresent said slamming the table and soon found himself having his for legs on the table.

 

Seeing the looks from the other he sat back down in his chair again, he placed his head on the table. He wanted this mare to live that's for sure but how was another story. He looked back up at the mare "if your going to strike at him this isn't the place it'll be too easy for him to have reason to continue this game." he finished breathing out

Crystal groaned, awaking in her cave. A letter had been dropped by her snout. The sun hit her eyes, blinding her a little, making her wince and cover her eyes.

After a few moments she noticed the letter, tilting her head in curiosity. No one ever dropped by.. she had no friends.. who would this be from?..
Crystal used her claws to open the small letter, at least to her, pulling out a piece of parchment.

Having had no education in her life.. reading was rather hard for her, however this letter she could read. "Dinner.. with King Sombra.. and I have to attend... why would he want me-" she paused, noticing a stallion standing by the entrance of her cave.

"I'm.. guessing you're here to take me to the dinner.." She stood slowly, stretching out her large dragon wings, yawning widely. "Well I'm afraid to inform you that carriage just won't do.. its far too small for me.." 

 

The stallion grunted, coming to a realization. He pulled out some rope and magically tied it around her neck and to the carriage. He smirked and galloped off, down the mountain. Somehow dragging the large 1.5ton dragon pony behind him.

 

Crystal gasped and sighed. "Magic.." she cantered after the carriage, following it into the destination....

 

The stallion slowed once they reached their destination, untying Crystal and forcing her in the building. "I'm going, I'm going.. geez.." 

The doors shut behind her... locking. Turning her head, she peered around the room, 5 ponies were mingling.. she felt very uncomfortable all of a sudden, her tail curling under her like a frightened dog..

Crystal looked nervously down at the pony, she was panting hard from the run.

Her wings ruffled and folded, she held them tightly to her sides.

 

"M..my name is Crystal.." She replied softly, panic in her eyes. "I..I've never been in one room with so many ponies before.."

Building up her courage from talking to the stallion, she took a breath. "Why am I here..? I've never been.. out to dinner before.." 

 

Her tail coiled around her hind leg tighter.

@@Crystal Vision, seeing the pony dragon was something cresent had never seen, his primal fear ever sense he was little has always been dragons, a pony dragon her was unsure about in itself was an oddity, he mearly nodded at the creature holding back a ton of questions then looked back at stardust.

 

@@Stardust*, "sorry, just..." he paused looking for the right words to say after his rant. "I didn't mean to be so harsh" he said looking back at the table just whishing this was some dream.

Stardust watched in silence... what that bat pony had said really hit her hard. She looked to the table, and back to the group. But... why? She thought. Nothing was making any sense and she could see the terror in every ponies eyes.

 

​Why wait any longer? Prolonging the inevitable will only make the panic and terror build. If we want to have a chance at more than one of us getting out of here we need to be a bit more clear headed. She made her way to the table. Looking at each name on the folded paper sitting atop the plates.

 

The table settings were astonishing, truly amazing. The elegant silverware, the snow white china plates. The crisp crystal glasses and the napkins a fabric so fine Star had never even felt before. She walked around the table reading...Flash...Cresent... Copper... Flamestreak....Crystal...Stardust...

 

She sat down. Waiting for the others in silence.

Flash could tell that she was terrified, and felt horrible for making her feel so.

 

"That's not necessarily true," he said, "one of us will make it out of here. And honestly, I don't have much reason to, so I'm going to try and make sure one of you," he gestures to the five others in the room, "gets out of this place."

 

Crystal sat in silence for a few moments, taking in her situation. She slowly opened her mouth and spoke softly.

"I deserve to die.. that's why I'm here.. I..I know I won't be the one to make it out.. I have no friends or family to go back to." She sighed, before noticing a pony sitting at the dining table. "W...why has she already sat down.. D..do we have to sit now..?" Her lip quivered, she'd never been more afraid in her life.

At that moment, one of Sombra's servants entered the room and asked them all to be seated.

 

"The king will be with you shortly, please be seated." And with that he left, returning the room to silence.

 

Flash looked back at Crystal and gave her a smile, and then walked over to the table and sat down.

Copper overheard the servant say the king that would be with them shortly.  Shrugging, he took his seat, saying, "Whatever happens from here on out, I wish nothing but the best from all of you.  I know this may be rough, but it's the least I can do to help you all survive."

He knew he wont survive this night he already accepted that fact, it was between those two he just wanted to live. Hey he wanted all of hem to live but who ever survived needed to start the revolt that would come to sombra.....

Crystal watched Flash go to the table, her body shuddered, knowing it'd have to do the same. She closed her eyes and took a deep, shaky breath before getting to her hooves. Her tail still tucked under her body, like a frightened puppy as she walked over.

 

Though she'd just met this pony, Crystal decided to sit next to Flash. She snorted when she saw the little chair. "Well.. that won't work.." she said, pushing it away and just laying down on her stomach by the table, making it roughly the perfect height for her.

 

Crystal cleared her throat and folded her wings tightly against her side.. and waited patiently for Sombra to arrive.

With that last bit of dialogue, Flame walked toward the table. Inside the palace one would never be able to know that an evil dictator owned this beautiful haven. Everything was in sight was expertly polished, not one single speck of dust or grime touched palace.

The decor was beautiful, with most of the display made out of gold or crystal. Even a small little garden was fit inside, Flame couldn't think of a better place to take his last breaths.

After he was done gawking at the scenery, Flame followed the well dressed stallion into a room. The was just magnificent as the rest of the place, a single large table took most of the space with it was a legion of chairs sat perfectly place around the table. A few ponies had already sat down before him, of the ponies one was a steel Grey Pegasus. He didn't look to ordinary his mane was a nice combination gold and cobalt which Flanestreak appreciated very much. The other was an all light blue earth who liked he never met a comb in his life, his "mane" if you want to call it that, stuck out all over the place and even looked a but sharp.

Flame sat himself down in between the two stallions.

"So.....um hey everyone."

A few moments after Crystal Sat down, the doors on the far side of the room opened and King Sombra walked into the room. He approached the table, sat down at the larger and more elegant chair at the head of the table, and then he spoke.

 

"Good evening, I hope everyone here is comfortable." He said, looking for a moment at Crystal. "We certainly have a colorful crowd today, hmm?"

 

Flash didn't know if he should respond to that but he did anyway.

 

"Yes your highness, there certainly is an interesting variety of different kinds of ponies here."

And good evening to you too. How are you today?" Whatever the case of death, he had to be respectful to the king, no matter what.

As Sombra glanced to Crystal, she looked down in embarrassment.

"O..of course Sombra... the carriage ride here was lovely... the wind flowing through my mane as I galloped behind it like a pet certainly was the highlight of my day.." She said shakily, trying to make the king laugh so maybe he'd consider sparing her.

Sombra looked over at Flash, "You look, familiar. Wasn't your mother here once before?"

 

Flash looked down and in a somber tone said. "Yes, it was about two years ago."

 

Copper looked as the King came to the table and sat with the group. He nodded at the king at his remark, saying, "Why of course, your highness. These seats are pretty comfortable. And good evening to you too. How are you today?" Whatever the case of death, he had to be respectful to the king, no matter what.

Sombra then looked over to Copper and replied to what he had said, "I am doing well, thank you for asking."

 

'This is odd, it appears this group actually has some manners.' Sombra thought.

 

As Sombra glanced to Crystal, she looked down in embarrassment.

Sombra laughed a little at this, "You seem to have a decent sense of humor, Crystal."

 

'Mabye for once this one will prove to be uneventful, but that is highly unlikely. They always try to escape somehow.'
