RarityTime 25 May 2, 2012 Share May 2, 2012 Simple enough, every major villain in My Little Pony could have easily won. Nightmare Moon lost because even though she thought she destroyed the elements, she didn't bother doing something about Twilight and the gang. Thus she lost. DIscord lost because he didn't think the mane 6 could gather the elements. If he took a little more precaution then he would still be bringing chaos. Queen Chrysalis had literally already won. If she wasn't so ignorant of Cadence's love and she seperated them or something, she would have won. I'm noticing a common theme in the villains. Nas 2,873 May 2, 2012 Share May 2, 2012 (edited) Yeah, I think it's all due to pressed time in production. They can only cover so much in 44 minutes. Even in the first two of the two-parters, they really focused on the villain, yet they still were unable to develop an extreme-level conflict. That, oh they're probably worried about shifting out of younger demographics, though I'm not sure how that'd work... EDIT: relating to the poll, I'm sure they could've easily won, disregarding the episode length. They just needed to on very to us some physical conflict between the mane 6 and the villains. Despite, they still managed to make the episodes very epic. Edited May 2, 2012 by NASCARFAN160 My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Swordfishtrombone 384 May 2, 2012 Share May 2, 2012 Well, the show must go on. Besides, heros always win, that is why we call them heros.
Bronium 512 May 2, 2012 Share May 2, 2012 1) I think that Midnight was bound to lose anyway. She couldn't have predicted that Twilight and the gang could essentially recreate the whole Elements of Harmony. These aren't just something you can just recreate. So the chances that 6 ponies who represented these elements would suddenly join together to defeat her on the very night that she came to be was very unlikely. To her it seemed like she couldn't lose so she didn't need to bother with the ponies. 2)I'm fairly sure that Discord wanted to lose. I mean he literally gave the mane 6 the elements of harmony. They weren't even fake. He was setting himself up to lose and I'm sure he knew it. Heck, I even doubt he was actually made into stone. 3)Lastly Chrysalis... well she was rushed. Even so, I don't think she could have predicted the whole power of love thing. She had beaten Celestia which probably boosted her confidence to the point where she thought she was indeed invincible. So I guess she was like Midnight? Just my take on the villains. And either way, it's a kids show. There is no way the bad guy will win. This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree? Jibbs93 64 May 2, 2012 Share May 2, 2012 I think they all got caught out by an unpredictable scenario. 1) Twilight managed to make an out of the blue connection between the six ponies that she had just met over the course of a day and the elements of harmony. Nightmare Moon couldn't have predicted this. 2) Discord was winning, he had all the Mane 6 under his complete control. If it wasn't for Twilight's connection to Celestia through Spike, then he would have succeeded. I doubt Discord knew about that connection, and was shocked to find that the Mane 6 had managed to get out of Discord's control. 3) Chrysalis couldn't have predicted that she would have been defeated by the power of Cadence's and Shining Armor's love, she herself referred to it as a 'wonderful yet ridiculous sentiment'. It's obviously never occurred before, so she couldn't have been prepared.
