web YouTuber Boogie2988's account hacked and deleted

Well, this is heartbreaking. Well known YouTuber Boogie2988, a YouTuber who is most famously known for his raging Francis character and his support for those that are overweight, has had his channel hacked and deleted entirely off of YouTube, as well as his social media accounts as well. While I don't know all of the specific details to how this came about, it was apparently done by one guy, who used YouTube's flawed authentication system to destroy the account.

 

Whatever your opinion is on Boogie, I always found him to be a very nice guy, a person you could talk to and have a shoulder to cry on. He seemed very caring. I hope that he somehow can get his account restored, as well as his social media, it would be horrible if his account was completely erased with no recovery possibilities.

 

What do you all think of this situation? It is such a shame that someone like this would be the target of a hacker..

Fortunately I believe his stuff will be recovered as Youtube is pretty good about that when it comes to being hacked.

Hopefully, his profile and content should be recoverable if Google keeps a backup of user data, or if the deletion process only raises a "Deactivated" flag in his account's name.

 

If neither of these are the case, then Google has some explaining to do.

This is very sad. Boogie is a wonderful individual and deserves nothing but great things in his life. I hope Youtube is able to fix this.

I'll admit that I've never subscribed to Boogie, but whenever I watched his channel, I did enjoy it and my friends at school always referenced him. It is still sad to see an innocent YouTuber's channel disappear because of some hacker who only wants attention. Speaking of, hacking seems to be happening a lot on YouTube now. First WatchMojo, then a few other channels. Not sure if it means it's time to start deactivating our accounts and move onto a site like Dailymotion until things change.

He just got it back, but all his videos are wiped. 10 years worth of videos. Gone.

I may not watch his videos very often, but I'm glad he got it back.
