Ali rolled her eyes.

 

"Riiight..... and next you'll be telling us that they could be impersonating any one of us, and we'd never know it."

Ivy blinked “she had green eyes we could see there was something different… will all of them be that noticeable?” Ivy being the nosey pony she is wanted to know so much and had so many questions to ask. But she didn’t want to just ask The Doctor loads of questions so she stood quietly waiting for an answer.

He suddenly stopped, and turned to stare at her with narrowed eyes.

"You're either really stupid, or really smart."

He looked at everypony else, and sighed.

"Yes, every single one of us could be a changeling. Even me. Wich kind of makes it a paradox. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to look for Ditzy and get yelled at by Carrot Top."

"Uh... Okay?" Ali said, confused.

 

She then turned to Ivy.

 

"I'm sure that they'll all be somewhat noticeable, so I doubt we'd have anything to worry about."

Ivy nodded "Yes i'm sure of that as well." She sighed and paused "This relaxing day just got Hectic"

He quickly approached the carrot stand, looking very nervous.

Carrot Top looked at him, halfway between amused that she could scare a Time Lord, and irritated of what the matter might be.

"uh, hi again, Carrot Top! Wonderful day, is it not? I was wondering if I could have some of those fantastic carrots of yours for a salad of s--"

"cut the act Doctor, I can see right through you. This better not have anything to do with Derpy."

She gave him the most terrifying stare he ever received.

"Err, no...?"

He said, with a sheepish smile.

"I mean, I'm pretty sure she's fine..."

"Pretty sure?"

She was now extending her neck towards him over the counter, ready to jump on him.

"Yyyeeaaah, I don't really know where she is."

"WHAT?!"

The Doctor was overwhelmed by an orange wave, and before he knew it the mare had him pinned down.

"WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"It's not my fault!"

He shouted in panic.

"I just found a changeling at your house when I got there, and..."

Carrot Top looked at him confused, and let him go.

"Changelings? Those things that chased us at the wedding?"

"Yes!"

He was so relieved she stopped shouting at him, he started to smile, but stopped once he realized it wasn't the right moment.

"hmm... Sorry."

Ali's mouth hung open at the sight of Carrot Top and The Dr.

 

She tapped Ivy on the shoulder and started to slowly back away.

Ivy nodded it was akwkward to stand there, she followed with out a word.

Once the two were some ways away, Ali said, "Some crack job he is, huh? Saying that anypony could be one of those insect things."

Ivy nodded "Yeah thoughs ugly insect things at that to!" She sighed "Even so... we should keep a look out for anypony acting odd"

"Doctor Whooves." Ali immediately said.

 

She thought for a second.

 

"Though he's usually ALWAYS odd." she giggled.

Ivy nodded and smiled "This is very true! I heard he's 900 years old!"

Ali looked at Ivy, dumbstruck.

 

"900? as in, with TWO zeroes?"

Ivy nodded slowly

 

"Or so the gossip says!" She said giggled paused. "Where are we going?"

"I honestly have no idea. Just walking until we find a place, I guess."

"care to explain?"

Carrot Top was sipping on her tea, hoping it would calm her nerves.

"Well, I arrived at your house, Ditzy answered the door, she didn't recognise me, I told her my name, aand she tried to kill me."

"Is there ANYTHING that doesn't try to kill you?"

He was surprised how two ponies in one day told him that already.

"That really isn't important is it? What's important is finding her."

She sighed. As much as she hated it, he was right. He's ALWAYS right.

"sigh. Fine. Listen, we can't do this on our own. It's just to widespread of a search!"

"And that's why we're gonna need help. Oh, hey there! Yoo hoo!"

The Doctor got up from the café table and proceeded to walk to the two ponies he met earlier.

Carrot Top sighed. All she could do was pay for the drink and follow.

Ali heard the Doctor's words.

 

"Great." she mumbled. "Its the crack again."

 

"Hello Doctor!" She said cheerfully towards him.

Gold Leaf, absolutely stunned by the rude greeting he had received, decided to walk into town. His happy look gone,he was clearly in a bad mood now. He notices a dead creature on the ground and a group of ponies heading out of town, away from the corpse. Confused, angry, and intrigued he decides to make a bold attempt to learn more. He runs in front of the group, stopping them dead in their tracks. He glares at the first pony he makes eye contact with, clearly upset. "Why did you execute that creature?" he asks with a tinge of concern.

"I have better hearing than you think, you know."

He walked next to them, a huge grin on his face.

"You see, we're in a bit of a pickle here: our dear friend, Ditzy Doo, seems to be lost, and we were wondering if you'd be willing to help find her--"

"why'd you kill it?"

The Doctor turned aroun to see a third pony looking at him angrily.

"i just can't stop making friends, can I?" he thought.

"I didn't want to, really. But it was either me or it. Trust me, if there has been a way to keep us both Aalive, I would have."

This creature must be some violent fiend... Gold Leaf thought to himself. "I suppose that's justified" Gold Leaf says to Doctor Whooves, clearly not completely convinced the thing was out to kill. As Gold Leaf realizes these ponies are a friendlier bunch, he lets a small smile grace his lips. "I apologize for being so cruel in my greeting, the name is Gold Leaf" he explains calmly. "Where are you ponies headed to today?" he asks with a hint of curiosity.

"Trying to save my friend he repeatedly nearly killed."

"Ah, but she didn't."

"But she nearly did!"

"But she didn't."

"BUT SHE NEARLY DID!!

"But she didn't."

Carrot Top sighed.

"You're impossible."

He smiled.

"I know."

[Prince Midnight 817]

Shadow dancer blinked at everything that has happened, "well.....ill help find ditzy, hope shes alright...sorry i kinda space there."

she gave an akward smile.

"Right"

he said, pointing at something and then seemingly forgetting what he was pointing at,

"First off, we've got to find another changeling, one that has been here for quite some time. That way, we'll be sure it knows where the prisoners go."

Carrot Top looked skeptically at the brown colt, but he didn't notice. She eventually got tired and spoke her mind:

"If they've been here a long time, that means they must have really fitted in, so how are we supposed to know if they're the real ones or not?"

The Doctor looked at her, smiling.

"You've always been the smart one, Carrot Top."

She smiled at herself in pride, but quickly went back to her skeptical look.

"Don't change the subject."

He grinned slyly.

"Simple, Carrot Top. We're going to plant one."
