Usually this implies Reapers coming and devouring the universe, but now it just means straining the paradox machine, and we need all of its strength to plant the changeling in Ponyville."

He started trotting again.

"I'm heading to Sweet Apple Acres. This is more or less the time me and Applejack used to travel, so she should lend a helping hoof. It's fine for me, I've been like this for... 200 years now, so I'm guessing it wouldn't make much of a difference to her, just as long as I don't tell her her future. Oh, also: no telling ponies their future."

That said, he disappeared behind the hill.

The Doctor had started out quite good, trotting off at a constant speed, but slowing down as he approached Sweet Apple Acres, coming to a full stop once he was in front of the entrance.

He and Applejack didn't exactly part on friendly terms, and he doubted anypony would gladly help the stallion who broke their heart.

"I don't really have a choice" he sighed, "I got to save Ditzy."

He walked into the farm, ears perked up to pick up any noises.

"Well, in that case, I think it'd be best if we all tried to remember where we were five years ago, err, I mean now, or... ARGH just remember where you were at this given time period!!"

They saw the Doctor quickly galloping back, apples shooting passed him and occasionally hitting him.

"Why do I always get stuff thrown at me?!"

He shouted, slightly irritated. As he spotted Ali, he smiled and hid behind her.

"Oh, hi again! Lovely day isn't it? I was just thinking how much I'd love an apple, when a problem came up..."

"GET BACK HERE, YA DOUBLE CROSSIN' WEASEL!!"

"Eep."

At that time, an apple hit Ali right in the nuzzle.

 

"OUCH! Hey, watch where you're throwing those things!" she yelled at the assailant.

"Ah'm sorry, Ah was aimin' for tha' time travellin' mare-meddler behin' ya'll!!"

Applejack looked angrily at the Doctor, who in return smiled weakly.

"Ah'm Applejack. Pleased to meet y'all."

She raised her hoof.

"Oh, I already knew you, AJ! I talked to you only yest....." Ali realized what she was about to do. "..Oh, no, nevermind, that was MAPLE Jack that I talked to, I'm sorry!"

 

She finished by taking the hoof, hoping that Applejack wouldn't question her.

She said, without taking her eyes off the Doctor, who smiled sheepishly in return.

"So, Doctor, is this another mare y'all gonba jus' use and then throw away when she's not young anymore?"

The Doc was coming out of his hiding place behind Ali.

"Applejack, it wasn't my fault."

"oh yeah? Then who's fault was it?! Mine?! I sacrifice mahself for ya, and you jus' abandon me?!?"

"Applejack, I won't let you kill yourself for me!"

"Wah not?! You did it!!"

"I can come back!!"

He was literally shouting at her now.

"I can come back!! I can regenerate!! You can't!! Why are you so thick?! Why can't you understand that?!"

He only then realized tears were flowing down AJ's cheeks.

"I'm... I'm sorry..." she said painfully, turning around To hide her sadness.

Ivy just stood there confused and looked around in the market. She sat down looking out "We're was i 5 years ago... i mean now..." She turned round as she sure a orange pony running her way Applejack! She ducked suddenly as a apple came flying her way. She got back up again oh why did U come... she thought. But she soon realised that the whole trip excited her she loved it!

Applejack smiled akwardly.

"If the Doc's involved, then AH'm pretty sure it must be darn important. How can Ah help?"

The Doctor smiled. At least she understood.

"Well for starters, I guess you could just tag along, we've been following the Doctor, as he seems to be the only one with the knowledge of where to go."

She raised an eyebrow.

"In mah experience, if the only pony tah know what's goin' on is the Doc, y'all in fer trouble."

She walked past them, trotting towards Ponyville.

"He needs somepony tah keep him from doin' something stupid."

The Doctor caught up to her, an offended look on his face.

"Now wait a minute, when has that ever happened?"

"One word: TARDIS."

The Doctor made to say something in return, but recognized his stupidity in that given situation.

Applejack smiled.

She must have been the only pony in Equestria who could out-argue the Doctor.

"Well then," The Doctor said, raising his head.

"Off to find a Changeling, and hopefully Carrot Top."

"You dragged her inta this too?"

"No. Well, yes."

"I think she dragged herself in." Ali piped up.

"This changeling we're looking for, how will we know it's a changeling, if it's in disguise?"

"We're gonna look for a fresh one."

The Doctor started walking, when he suddenly realized something.

"Applejack."

"Yeah, Doc?"

He looked at her straight in the eyes.

"I'll have to delete your memories of this exeperience when it's finished."

She looked horrified.

"What? Why?!"

"The changelings are part of your future, I can't have you know about them."

She sighed.

"Does this mean... Ah won't have forgiven you, either?"

He nodded.

"I'm afraid so."

He turned to the others.

"Right, Changelings feed off love. A fresh changelings will have limited shapeshifting powers, and a huge need of nourishment. So, what's the easiest place to go unnoticed, yet is full of love?"

"I'd say Sugar Cube Corner first, seeing as Pinkie loves everything, and Mr. and Mrs. Cake love their work and their children?"
