OmegaBeamOfficial 622 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 How come season 3 only had 13 episodes? I'm not saying this is a problem, we've definitely gotten more than our fair share of MLP: FIM over the years so I'm not complaining, but it just seems rather odd that all of Seasons 1-4 (Dunno about Season 5 or 6, not seen them yet.) all consistently have 26 episodes with 3 as an exception. Is there a special reason for this or was Hasbro unable or didn't want to do another 26 episode season? Please check out this awesome looking My Little Pony fan game being developed by Rikifive. cmarston1 5,962 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 Outside of the syndication deal of how season 3 might have been the final season and the network wanted to make the show get the magic 65 episode mark, it might have something to do with the production of the first Equestria Girls movie along side the production of the third season at the same time. Or maybe both of those factors.
Dark Qiviut 22,527 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 (edited) Syndication. S3 was originally gonna be the end of the series and Hasbro wanted to fill the 65 quota for syndication This right here. In cartoon television is the "Rule of 65." After sixty-five episodes, companies usually apply their shows for syndication broadcast. Today, companies like Disney — who infamously canceled many shows too soon for sticking to the Rule of 65 — doesn't apply it anymore, but it does happen once in a blue moon. Magical Mystery Cure was the 65th (and originally final) episode of the show. OmegaBeamOfficial 622 July 19, 2016 Author Share July 19, 2016 Syndication. S3 was originally gonna be the end of the series and Hasbro wanted to fill the 65 quota for syndication Well, good thing it didn't turn out to be. Outside of the syndication deal of how season 3 might have been the final season and the network wanted to make the show get the magic 65 episode mark, it might have something to do with the production of the first Equestria Girls movie along side the production of the third season at the same time. Or maybe both of those factors. Well, I guess I never thought of that. But still, what's so special about the number 65? This right here. In cartoon television is the "Rule of 65." FlareGun45 2,221 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 I'm kinda nervous about season 7 being a 13-episode season since the movie is coming right after, thinking the events of season 7 might lead to it. Hopefully I'm wrong.
PiratePony 8,486 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 But what's "Syndication Broadcast"? It's when a show airs on another channel other than what it was intended for. Like how TBS and the like rebroadcast old episodes of Seinfeld or Friends, even though those were originally created by and shown on NBC. 3 Courtesy of @Sparklefan1234

And Hasbro could probably make a quick buck off of putting MLP into syndication. 1 Please check out this awesome looking My Little Pony fan game being developed by Rikifive. At least fan pressure got us another season for Kimmie Cub. 1 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!

The number 65 is used because in syndication, that means they have one unique episode to air every weekday for 13 weeks, AKA one season/quarter of the year.
OmegaBeamOfficial 622 July 20, 2016 Author Share July 20, 2016 I still want to see another season of Kim Possible. We need to see her balance college life with saving the world. At least fan pressure got us another season for Kimmie Cub. Ah yes, I've heard about that. Now, I can't speak for the show myself as I haven't watched it. But the fact that fans of the show managed to make their voices heard and get another season created is incredible. So I say if Kim Possible can do it, any show can as long as there is enough demand. The number 65 is used because in syndication, that means they have one unique episode to air every weekday for 13 weeks, AKA one season/quarter of the year. Ah, I see. Makes sense, though I bet they'd probably have hiatuses too knowing TV nowadays... 1 Please check out this awesome looking My Little Pony fan game being developed by Rikifive.
