Its confirmed! in the episode "the times they are a changeling" 

Lets be real for a second, as much as eve I ship it, spike is too young for rarity, hes only a baby after all! but, this is the best relationship I have ever seen! it has so much screen time and development! so much canon backing to support it!
(yes this is me making fun of the community and its chronic shipping... tenancies @Lightwing We're all looking at you.)

I would also like to commission some Spikcicle fan art if anybody is up for it! (for free c: )
