Okay, after reading the Skype chat, I have two objections.

 

1) You "don't like where this is headed", then PROVIDE FEEDBACK DAMMIT, instead of saying you don't like it. I keep making verses, but more often than that, I'm constantly suggesting IDEAS.

2) You say we "have no idea how making music works", in what way? How do YOU think "making music works", how would you say we could improve our understanding...?

I came here to post some of the riffs I had made for the project so that the guitarists could use them, but this flame war looks like much more fun! Alright lets see:

 

1) Yeah I did provide feedback. None was aknowledged.

 

2) I never said I knew it any better than the rest of you. I do know the process of music though. Also, I think that the music should come first, but we wanted certain lyrics. So I couldn't write up a tab for the guitar without knowing at least the type of song. Then I get notified that we are doing a mix up of generes. How can I write up a tab without know the lyrics or the genere of music? This is why bands meet up and jam, so they can come to an understanding of what it would sound like with all the instruments along with it.

 

I didn't "claim" to be a leader. Also, I quit because of multiple things that were occuring. Oh yeah I also have had PM conversations with both Swit Swat (Only other guitarist) and Skullbuster (Leader of the project). So don't act like you know the whole story.

 

I was not being rude by talking in a skype call in which I stated my opinion and told everyone some of the reasons I was leaving. I left for reasons you wouldn't even understand. I also had a lot of stress being the one writing the tab for the guitar and then having new things thrown on me to do.

 

Don't want to be called rude? Then I will call you immature. If you wanted to handle a problem, you could PM me and Skullbuster stating your opinion, rather than posting it on a thread for everyone to see and to not even have the guts to quote me.

Oh manure, I'm sorry for being inactive in this. Figured it'd help to take my mind off it for a day or two, then ended up forgetting about it. Buck me.

 

Oh yeah, we need to dig a little into the forums' history for inspiration, as well as the staff, and some of the most prominent members. But since I'm hardly on, I don't know much about anything.

 

I already suggested a stanza about Feld0's charity event for the children's hospital, then another about Dizzy's ponypile project.

We have a few stanzas about the members' overall empathy (even selflessness for some) in a world of egotistical profit and mutual hatred, and one about us being from all around the world.

 

 

Dragon, wasn't that chat about LYRICS and, y'know, not soundtrack? Hell, wasn't that GROUP for discussing lyrics and not soundtrack?

And even if some people DID ignore you on that basis, what exactly told you you COULDN'T still come up with a tab on your own?

Honestly, the feedback you've provided does NOT justify your attitude in any way. And it wasn't being ignored as you claim, which -in my personal opinion- simply shows you're a lying whiner.

If I'm wrong, point out where, instead of saying "you're wrong because they did ignore me". I want to give you a chance to publicly explain your behavior, that's why I'm doing this here and not via PM.)

 

Yes, you DID say you were "too much of a leader" in the chat. Yet, whenever things don't go your way, you give up?

Worse, you just admitted it - rather than providing the feedback you wanted others to have, you'd rather participate in what you consider a sterile exchange of insults. Sterile only on your end, seeing you could make this very decision.

You acted superior, and you're doing it right now.

Telling me I "wouldn't understand" without even giving me a clue, making assumptions about my intellectual capacity without even knowing me. Abandoning a task that'd actually contribute to the project, deciding instead to insult someone who, unlike you, hasn't quit.

 

You tell me not to act like I know the whole story. Well as a matter of fact, I happen to love stories.

Sorry for bump, but would it be possible to have an announcement (maybe even a banner) put up for the issue I mentioned above?

Personally, I think the pony pile has enough applicants, and besides, we need all the help we can get. This would take a lot more dedication than just saying "Can I be in this pile, here's [OC name]'s reference: [reference picture/link]", hence why we need it to be seen by as many as possible.

I got my sound-card today, so I can record some guitar... Just need the drum-beat/bass-track/bpm, and an idea of what you may need, and I'll give it a shot...

I hope it's still on. From the thread, and the Skype chat the last time I checked, I'm afraid it's struggling.

But that should only be an excuse to carry on more strongly, not to let it die.

 

That being said, people (including myself) are now going on vacation, so I suggest that the project be put on hiatus. But when it restarts, the team should be smaller, limited to people who actually contributed.

I'd particularly appreciate if we left out people who spend time disagreeing and making futile criticisms, wasting the others' efforts and everyone's time. I don't think we need to beg those who threaten to leave, or even leave for good, because of a petty detail they don't approve of (such as a single genre in a piece meant to be a mashup of styles).

 

Also don't forget to EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS on this, because this is a discusion thread.

I am, quite truly, a terrible singer, but I've had a few years playing the trumpet and the piano. I will be buying a new trumpet soon enough, but if I get it too late, you can cross me off. Of course, I do have a electric piano, so that should be fine.

 

I shouldn't underestimate my singing, so I might be a *meh, I'm okay* singer.

I must express my disappointment in the dedication of this project's participants.

I've checked this thread, I've checked the Skype group. And no matter what new participants join in, the old ones never seem to have any sort of activity. Not to say they'll be leaving for the holiday or anything - just disappearing from the project, either providing lousy excuses or without so much as a warning.

 

Nobody's ever said a thing about my text banner proposition either, which shows how you consider this project involving a big group. As opposed to a drawing made by one single person, who does all the work for you and even thanks you for giving her more to do.

 

I guess I can give it another month or so, because I still want people to prove their pride in being part of something this big.
