Should such topics be covered in mlp?

Since we've seen war across multiple episodes, speceisism, racism, communism, forced brainwashing, death fakeouts, banishment, forced reform, etc. do you think FiM will address issues (long term, like they do with Fluttershy) such as overcoming parental abandonment, overcoming self esteem, self-inflicted mental punishment (coughLunacough), deep- rooted depression, eating disorders, hoarders and overcomig the emotional attachment, doing proper research on a pet rather than getting one on the fly based on looks or emotional attachment, the importance of getting animals from pet shelters rather than breeders, the importance of spaying and neutering your pets, respecting your parents, coming into heat, price inflating for female products over men's, payroll discrimination for certain genders or weight class, or things such as these?

Depends how direct it is. I disliked the way Flutter Brutter directly made the episode about something that happens in real life :/ . Pony world is supposed to be different than our world. I dislike when they cut and paste stuff from our world.

However I didn't mind Luna's episode because it wasn't so direct.

Thorax was also fine because it wasn't such a copy paste from our world like Flutter Brutter.

They didn't have ponies on the street holding protest signs against racism :/

For the most part, these topics are something that a TV Y showed used to market toys for little girls, is not going to cover.

I guess I could see some form of hoarding addressed with Pinkie Pie for like an episode, but not long term, and respecting your parents seem like a simple enough moral that could work in the show.

And overcoming self esteem problems sound like something that has already done with episodes like Hurricane Fluttershy

But everything else, noope.

Some of the above topics can be subtly referenced, at least through shared concepts in the form of metaphor or deft narrative (feeling abandoned by friends). Others can be addressed head on, though with a sense of appropriateness (death). Coming into heat ... ain't gonna be a thing on this show tho.

The show hasn't really covered communism. Cults, sure, but not communism. That'd be way to complex.

Most of the rest would be fine to at least some degree, except going into heat and maybe spaying/neutering. Those are a bit too sexual, and we all know there are no genitalia on children's shows.

Are you referring to the ongoing jokes about cider on the show from RD? If so, I don't consider those anything to do with alcohol or addiction. As for your list, they have already tackled some of those things to various degrees in some way or another.

They could do inequality, I could see that... bringing in a poorer family, and emphasizing on how unfairly they are treated for their service, poverty is something that can be addressed in a childs show among all the topics you discussed above...
