Why haven't zebra lands been explored?

It's quite perplexing when you look back through the series and see that we've seen the ponies go to griffin, buffalo, dragon, and Changeling territory, and the gates of Yak territory, and even outside of Equestria into seapony territory (soon, through the movie),  yet for some reason, Zecora's homelands are still a complete mystery. What possible reason could there be for never exploring or even giving lore on zebra lands?

I guess the writers never placed priority on it.

Plus the show focuses more on slice of life elements than expanding its own lore.

I'm sure we'll visit the zebra lands and know Zecora's origins someday in the future! I mean Hasbro wouldn't allow the people who make the comics make anything like that, or so I heard, so that must mean her origins are going to be saved for the show! The only origins the comics were allowed to released were Celestia and Luna's with the first Legends is Magic issue!

They probably don't feel it is a priority, or that perhaps viewers would not be that interested.

Also there is the unavoidable element that exists that if they did so... it would possibly cause a lot of unwanted attention to themselves. If they show them much like Zecora.. I am sure they are afraid a lot of people with start crying racist remarks as they did when Zecora herself showed up... and if they show them but change them all around to remove those possible elements, it will be seen as a cop out, and I am sure most of the actual fans would hate it and be annoyed by the strange changes. So it could be the feeling that they are better off leaving well enough alone. No one seems to care anymore about Zecora by herself.. but a whole tribe.... yeah... morons would come out of the wood works... and Hasbro just seems terrified of rocking the boat even a little bit sometimes.

Anyway, not saying this is the case, just that it is one possible solution. Honestly it is a mystery I would love them to explore in the future.

They probably haven't found a good way to really represent the so-called Zebra-lands, and in a manner that would tell a good story. Honestly, outside of the griffons, the show staff's handling of introducing new species has been somewhat mixed in the eyes of some fans. I loved the introduction of the Yaks, but plenty of people thought they were too undiplomatic, and while I remember some seeing the buffalos as racially insensitive (not sure if that thought still stands). Right now I'd say the show staff are more concerned about story-telling and effective use of characters rather than introducing new elements.

That said there is plenty of potential. "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone" remains one of my top-five episodes in the series so I have faith in the staff if they choose to do it.

They have waited a while to show the other lands too, besides, Zecora is currently a side character, so her homeland isn't a priority. I am sure they will do one soon though.
